I guess I’m still a country girl at heart, because if it’s warm and I’m home, I’m barefoot! Even in the garden. Does Probably not Chic, but I’m ok with it in this area. I’ve always believed being barefoot when possible, even outside is better for our foot and overall health than being in shoes 24/7. Does make for more work come home pedicure time, though! 😉 Love the flower press, though. We have roses, lavender, calendula, sage, and more in bloom on the garden, and both my 16yo daughter and my 5yo son would love preserving them that quickly!
Fellow country girl. Barefoot as we speak. ;-) Part of my problem is that my feet are big (US size 10.5), wide and with a high instep. So hard to find shoes (or slippers), let alone cute ones...
Barefoot is definitely more healthful, especially outside. I have been taking my shoes off since before I could walk. If it's warm out I keep my toenails painted and avoid shoes. 👣

I never wore slippers until a year ago a financial blogger wrote an article about how wearing slippers helped him to save money by keeping the heating down in his home. I have since, fallen in love with wearing slippers. I do have a pair of very practical pair but would love a boujie pair too. Thank you for your delightful channel! Everything you show is always beautiful and inspiring. However, I do not support Amazon, for many reasons and it saddens me to see it constantly advertised, as if there were no local shops or stores anymore that need support, especially during an economic crisis. We need to support our local communities! I've often chosen to go without something rather than buy it from Amazon.
My local Kohls usually carries the Isotoner ballet slippers. It's a national chain of course, (and partnered with Amazon to handle Amazon's returns, if that makes a difference to you)... but at least Kohls has local stores with local employees. I haven't found any locally owned stores that sell Isotoner slippers.
I have always loved the isotoner ballet slippers! My grandmother used to wear them and they remind me of her ❤. I have a pair in black satin. 🥰 That tea set is beautiful!!
How funny, I already own two of the three pairs of slippers you recommended (the pink feather pair & the Isotoner’s)- Jennifer, I always knew we were kindred spirits! Also loved the engagement ring segment. My husband proposed with an antique Art Deco diamond and sapphire ring from the 1930’s that he bought from an estate jeweler in San Francisco. It even has the previous owner’s name (Sophie) engraved in it which strangely has endeared me to it even more. It’s such a rare and beautiful piece that I find myself telling Sophie out loud all the time how much I love her ring and how I promise to take good care of it and treasure it always! lol
Yes to beautiful house slippers! I’ve been wishing Lauren Conrad would bring back some chic ballet bow ones, I always loved them. For now I use my gray ones from Target but definitely keeping an eye out for some in blush🌹

I don’t think they were so much ahead of the times but rather a generation of ladies that took pride in their appearance before it was acceptable for women to be more sloppy or casual
Jme H very true. They wear/wore presentable clothing, had basic makeup and did their hair every day. I can remember my grandma putting on red lipstick without a mirror as a kid. I asked how she did that & she commented that her lips hadn’t moved in the last 65 years 😆
About the slippers, you made beautiful choices, I think I would choose the second pair. I've never used slippers...in my country, we are used to wear havaianas at home, but now I am leveling up my homewear and just bought a gorgeous baby pink home slippers online and I can't wait to wear it. More recommendations for big-headed ladies, please! Ugh. Hats...headbands...that fit are impossible to find. The only hat brand that I have found to offer cute/chic hats that fit is Sungrubbies (available on Amazon).
I have the ballet slippers.....just want to put out that they are not much more than wearing socks on your feet. There is a very thin pad at the bottom and no support....fyi. They are great for travel because they fold up nice and small.
I was particularly pleased to hear that someone has come up with a headband that does not cause a headache! So many men have beards these days, what a good idea Bend Soap had to have a offer a beard salve and comb! I have noted that tea set in "Victoria Magazine." You make it look even more lovely and elegant in your home setting! I have used Isotoners for years. I love their look and comfort: all other slippers tire my legs, but these are almost as good as bare feet! I wore a couple pairs for years and years~and I even wore them outside in the yard sometimes~and they lasted so long. My most recent pairs I purchased straight from Isotoner.com. The silver in the toothbrush is a great feature; I think I will check them out! What a lovely ending~engagement rings. Both companies offer a unique experience, which was fun to learn about. I so need some chic slippers! I think I don’t wear skirts and dresses more often because I feel silly pairing them with my fuzzy house slippers. I am going to get some more headbands as well, I too have a big head and now apparently a mullet (thank you quarantine). I’m trying to keep it back as much as possible!
Love this video for its practical tips and offerings. I smiled because I think I could have a "ten item wardrobe of slippers" (I don't), because this quarantine is keeping me in slippers more often than shoes, it seems. I had a sweet taupe pair made of a cable-sweater material and pom-poms that my sister gave me, but the bottom gave out on one of them so out they went. I have a cute pair of animal print slippers (a neutral!) that look like ballet slippers with a small black bow and I love them and think they came from RiteAid of all places (and I haven't seen them there since). Thanks to you, I bought the red wine slippers and I adore them. I feel so pretty and chic in them and since my taupe ones were discarded this week, I bought the Isotoners and found some pink pom-pom ones from the same company where the red wine ones were purchased. I'm really curious about Dr. Plotka's toothbrushes and will do more reading and hope the silver antibacterial component is safe to use for all. I never hesitate trying something you recommend, Jennifer, because you describe everything so well and offer an honest appraisal making it easy for me to decide if it's something I can use. What funny timing. My fiancé proposed on May 2nd. He used a family non-engagement ring as a place holder (though one I’m keeping) until I can get my family ring resized. They’re both lovely. His is a cameo ring with a small diamond from around 1910 and mine in a traditional engagement ring from 1922. I like the idea of using family heirlooms. It feels that much more special to me.
I LOVE Isotoner SLIPPERS.....I actually wore a white pair on my WEDDING DAY, down rhe aisle and all through the ceremony and reception!!!! This was such a fun video to watch :) I'm going to check out those headbands. And those red slippers were adorable! I wear Crocs flats (they're made of the Croc material but look like ladylike flats) and they're great for protecting your feet from accidentally stepping on Legos now & then ;) They're easy to wipe clean or rinse off.
For house slippers, I highly recommend the rattan and animal print pointed half-shoes (those with open back). They are soo comfy and they make my mirror selfies look so good because well, they are shoes but they are comfy enough to wear around the house all the time.
PS-- I am a 60 year old woman has already been through your stage of life. Kudos to you for becoming debt free, staying chic within your budget while you saved and not letting critics get you down. Your outlook on life is great--keep it up! your emphasis on civility and manners is lovely and much needed
Omg I looove this! I wear house slippers daily! We moved onto a homestead in January so I’m mixing glam housewife and farm housewife and Walmart sells a 2 pack of comfy house slippers. I got a hot pink set a navy blue set and a leopard set. They stay on, they grip nicely, and have a cute little bow.

My royal doulton arcadia bone China set I bought 55 years ago before I married has only 1 chipped PIECE that I immediately threw out because who needs the aggravation. Fine bone China is more durable than porcelain. And it doesn't chip as easily. We have 4 grown children but they were not rough people. Also had the whole extended family over several times a year. It cost a fortune then but was well worth it.
Thank you so much Jennifer, for another lovely video. I wear actual ballet shoes as slippers in the summer (they are not not warm enough in the winter). I find them very comfortable and inexpensive (here in the UK I got them for £8). I also like that when I catch sight of them I think of the ballet and improve my posture. They make me feel more elegant and balletic.
I have a pair of pink pompom shoes too! In my mind they are my Tinkerbell shoes! 🤣 I only wear them upstairs in my room. I don’t have a nice teaset right now, it’s in my childhood home in Singapore at my parents house. We were doing the expat thing for a few years so it’s in safekeeping with my parents! We are settled now though so I want mine back! My dad bought it for me for my wedding, in my culture we have a tea ceremony after you are married, where the bride and groom serve tea to the older generation on both sides, so this is the first time you would call your in-laws mum and dad, and you will call everyone older than you by their title, like Eldest Uncle or whatever the relation is. I cannot wait for lockdown to be over and my parents can come visit and bring my teaset over. It’s a soft yellow with hand painted pink flowers and green foliage and a beautiful phoenix (symbol for the bride, the groom is represented by a dragon).
Wow, I love the idea of having a replica wedding ring especially when traveling! It can be very stressful to keep track of your ring during beach vacations or just having a different routine than normal.

Love your reviews even if it is difficult to get the items in uk. I am wearing Fitflop Lena leather loafers as houseshoes this year-they are so comfy and make me feel dressed for the day. As for toothbrushes, please bear in mind that plastic brushes add greatly to the environmental waste problem! I now use bamboo brushes with non plastic bristles or an electric brush which lasts for years ( except rather sadly the bristle top)

I bought a banner from carrot top paper shop for my granddaughters bedroom, the blue necklace and blue dress you featured for my daughters wedding, a pair of earrings from Ana Luisa, a velvet headband , a Madison braid and of course, your book collection. I love them all. I would love to see a review of rubber boots. Like Wellies for example. I’ve been looking to buy a pair but honestly find it hard to choose. I found a brown pair that had tartan on the inside, but wasn’t sure on the quality.
My mom bought a beautiful pair of pink isotoner slippers for the hospital when she was pregnant with me. They are still in great shape almost 30 years later, and I love getting isotoner slippers for Christmas!

I have been wearing isotoner slippers for decades. I love them. I have several pair. I even store a pair at my daughters when I visit.
I so need some chic slippers! I think I don’t wear skirts and dresses more often because I feel silly pairing them with my fuzzy house slippers. I am going to get some more headbands as well, I too have a big head and now apparently a mullet (thank you quarantine). I’m trying to keep it back as much as possible!
Love this video for its practical tips and offerings. I smiled because I think I could have a "ten item wardrobe of slippers" (I don't), because this quarantine is keeping me in slippers more often than shoes, it seems. I had a sweet taupe pair made of a cable-sweater material and pom-poms that my sister gave me, but the bottom gave out on one of them so out they went. I have a cute pair of animal print slippers (a neutral!) that look like ballet slippers with a small black bow and I love them and think they came from RiteAid of all places (and I haven't seen them there since). Thanks to you, I bought the red wine slippers and I adore them. I feel so pretty and chic in them and since my taupe ones were discarded this week, I bought the Isotoners and found some pink pom-pom ones from the same company where the red wine ones were purchased. I'm really curious about Dr. Plotka's toothbrushes and will do more reading and hope the silver antibacterial component is safe to use for all. I never hesitate trying something you recommend, Jennifer, because you describe everything so well and offer an honest appraisal making it easy for me to decide if it's something I can use. What funny timing. My fiancé proposed on May 2nd. He used a family non-engagement ring as a place holder (though one I’m keeping) until I can get my family ring resized. They’re both lovely. His is a cameo ring with a small diamond from around 1910 and mine in a traditional engagement ring from 1922. I like the idea of using family heirlooms. It feels that much more special to me.

I LOVE Isotoner SLIPPERS.....I actually wore a white pair on my WEDDING DAY, down rhe aisle and all through the ceremony and reception!!!! I was afraid if i wore heels, i would fall....and THESE were perfect, i was comfortable all day!!!! Rhis was 31 years ago, 32 this September ❤❤❤ oh, and I also LOVE the tea set, it is exquisite

Lovely reviews as usual! I have been in love with that tea set since the moment you displayed it in your video! I keep putting it in my cart and taking it out. This was such a fun video to watch :) I'm going to check out those headbands. And those red slippers were adorable! I wear Crocs flats (they're made of the Croc material but look like ladylike flats) and they're great for protecting your feet from accidentally stepping on Legos now & then ;) They're easy to wipe clean or rinse off.
For house slippers, I highly recommend the rattan and animal print pointed half-shoes (those with open back). They are soo comfy and they make my mirror selfies look so good because well, they are shoes but they are comfy enough to wear around the house all the time.
PS-- I am a 60 year old woman has already been through your stage of life. Kudos to you for becoming debt free, staying chic within your budget while you saved and not letting critics get you down. Your outlook on life is great--keep it up! your emphasis on civility and manners is lovely and much needed
Omg I looove this! I wear house slippers daily! We moved onto a homestead in January so I’m mixing glam housewife and farm housewife and Walmart sells a 2 pack of comfy house slippers. I got a hot pink set a navy blue set and a leopard set. They stay on, they grip nicely, and have a cute little bow.

I always wear slippers around the house. They’re not this beautiful but I’m comfortable!
My royal doulton arcadia bone China set I bought 55 years ago before I married has only 1 chipped PIECE that I immediately threw out because who needs the aggravation. Fine bone China is more durable than porcelain. And it doesn't chip as easily. We have 4 grown children but they were not rough people. Also had the whole extended family over several times a year. It cost a fortune then but was well worth it.
Thank you so much Jennifer, for another lovely video. I wear actual ballet shoes as slippers in the summer (they are not not warm enough in the winter). I find them very comfortable and inexpensive (here in the UK I got them for £8). I also like that when I catch sight of them I think of the ballet and improve my posture. They make me feel more elegant and balletic.

I have a pair of pink pompom shoes too! In my mind they are my Tinkerbell shoes! 🤣 I only wear them upstairs in my room. I don’t have a nice teaset right now, it’s in my childhood home in Singapore at my parents house. We were doing the expat thing for a few years so it’s in safekeeping with my parents! We are settled now though so I want mine back! My dad bought it for me for my wedding, in my culture we have a tea ceremony after you are married, where the bride and groom serve tea to the older generation on both sides, so this is the first time you would call your in-laws mum and dad, and you will call everyone older than you by their title, like Eldest Uncle or whatever the relation is. I cannot wait for lockdown to be over and my parents can come visit and bring my teaset over. It’s a soft yellow with hand painted pink flowers and green foliage and a beautiful phoenix (symbol for the bride, the groom is represented by a dragon).
Wow, I love the idea of having a replica wedding ring especially when traveling! It can be very stressful to keep track of your ring during beach vacations or just having a different routine than normal.

Love your reviews even if it is difficult to get the items in uk. I am wearing Fitflop Lena leather loafers as houseshoes this year-they are so comfy and make me feel dressed for the day. As for toothbrushes, please bear in mind that plastic brushes add greatly to the environmental waste problem! I now use bamboo brushes with non plastic bristles or an electric brush which lasts for years ( except rather sadly the bristle top)

I bought a banner from carrot top paper shop for my granddaughters bedroom, the blue necklace and blue dress you featured for my daughters wedding, a pair of earrings from Ana Luisa, a velvet headband , a Madison braid and of course, your book collection. I love them all. I would love to see a review of rubber boots. Like Wellies for example. I’ve been looking to buy a pair but honestly find it hard to choose. I found a brown pair that had tartan on the inside, but wasn’t sure on the quality.

My mom bought a beautiful pair of pink isotoner slippers for the hospital when she was pregnant with me. They are still in great shape almost 30 years later, and I love getting isotoner slippers for Christmas!
