As a La Salle, I'm really happy that Raven Cortez is starting to develop his 3 pt shot. Having a smooth as silk touch on his every shot, Now seeing him getting his 3pt shot improve at every game, I'm expecting that he'll be one of the main rotation players for DLSU.
Hi FranLu! Happy that he’s been healthy the past few years. You can see his potential and ceiling. His patience and hardwork is filling paying off. If he continues to improve we might see him don the national team colors in the future. -Maui
Stock Up: DLSU - Cortez UP - Torcullas NU - Gulapa ADMU - Tuanio Stock Down: DLSU - Phillips; insists on bringing down the ball then makes an unforced error (trying to be like KQ) UP - Belmonte; given the license to shoot but can’t make them NU - Enriquez; still can’t shoot consistently ADMU & Adamson It was great seeing you guys on Saturday. Hope to see you again!
I was great meeting you Sir! Appreciate the thoughts as always. My only comment is on Mike Phillips. Am actually happy Lasalle is experimenting on him as the 4 man and giving him the liberty to handle the ball more. Its the pre-season din naman and it would probably make his ceiling higher is he can develop those skills. Same with Belmonte being aggressive and more loose on the Offensive end. -Maui
I have to agree, KQ looks pro ready but he still continues to improve. He can use the current tournaments and the coming Uaap season to transition to a guard/forward which i believe will unlock a whole new ceiling for him. -Maui
Any idea/insider info why Coach Tab is not playing former Batang Gilas and UAAP Jrs Mythical Member Kobe Demisana? He didn't play last season in his supposed rookie year. He was present sa bench sa PinoyLiga but did not even get minutes in the game vs LPU and only 3:20 vs Mapua
Last season, word is he was injured. For Pinoyliga, he wasn't part of the lineup for the LPU game along with multiple other players. Against Mapua, it was not a good matchup for him since Mapua played five out. And in my opinion, he is very raw and skinny. Don't be surprised if even Kyle Ong gets minutes ahead of him
As far as I know he’s very Raw. Will not be surprised if Kyle Ong gets more mins since he has been with the team longer. Am hopeful both of them to be able to make an impact this season. They have something that you can’t teach, Height and Length. -Maui
Here i am wondering why its already 40mins into the podcast and theres been barely a minute's discussion of UP. 😅 UP is obviously newsworthy but of course I understand that there is a need to cater to fans of all other UAAP schools. Nonetheless, more power to you guys! I always find myself waiting for your podcasts after UP games and this being the first following UP's Sunday game, almost 40mins in and no discussion on UP yet. Ill catch you guys on the next podcast!
Very sorry tbh not much to be said about UP except that they’ve been dominant. We’re trying to get info re: injuries to Gagate, Coronel and Andres. We’re actually very excited to see Coronel because of the hype we’ve heard behind the scenes throughout last season. Personally am excited to see how Belmonte, Lopez and Torculas continue to develop into more versatile forwards. Tune in to this weekends Pinoy Liga games, UP plays both Sat and Sunday. -Maui
Hello Sam Gab and Maui! Episode suggestion: UAAP FSA power Rankings. It's early in the Pinoyliga and the Filoil Eco-oil Tournament hasn't started yet, but maybe in Mid-May or June, you could do a Power Ranking of FSAs in the UAAP? Inspired to sa usapan nyo comparing Omar John to Diassana, and Tama kayo, parang absent si Omar John when he's needed the most. PERO WALA NANG MAS AABSENT PA KAY FATY 😂 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@@bolerosph pero nabadtrip ata si Omar John dito nag laugh emoji na lang 😂 hey bro, I'm not dissing you, compared to our Previous FSA, you're way better lmao relax
Contrary to popular opinion (or misconception), kulang pa actually ang UP roster primarily because of players who might end up missing the season due to injuries. One of them is Seven. The other two havent been playing sa PinoyLiga. I think UP will only have 16 or 17 players assuming Bayla commits. I'm not counting Yniguez or Remogat who arent eligible yet for this coming season. Ironically, UP pa yung sinasabihang hoarder no? Samantala, La Salle probably has more than 30 players to choose from haha.
@@sneakerfreaker7406 Dlsu started it in the '80s under danding, then admu followed suit starting late '90s under pangilinan. Danding returned to dlsu in the 2010's, then up finally joined the fray during bo's era And now here we are lol
Dlsu has historically been a team that has over recruited kaya we see a lot of players (bollick, elorde, cagulangan, etc) thriving in the NCAA or even the Uaap from them. Will not be surprised if Mur Alao and Penny Estacio breaks out with their new teams. ADMU is also guilty of this but to a lesser degree imo since most the players who bid their time on the bench still make it to the pro leagues after. Having a competent 16 man lineup is actually a huge advantage. Most of the time 10 man rotation lang loaded na. There’s a reason why Hubilla, Pablo, Gonzales and Bahay decided to go to other schools for more opportunity. May I know if you have any information re: injuries of Gagate, Coronel and Andres? As an impartial dan of the uaap, Guys hyped mason amos too much that makes his stock goes way way down when you watch him play. Mason cant even create shots but thats fine with tab baldwins system ,just think he needs to be an inside presence . Liked your podcast among all the podcast of college basketball. Kinda true. Mason still can't create off the dribble. He can create off the post though and his shooting is deadly. Appreciate your thoughts! Thank you for the kind words!
the narrative of PJ Palacielo... your hyping him gab.hehehe. for me he's still decent player and good role player plus fundamentally sound and system player. he reminds me to another current UAAP player to Raven Cortez but smaller version 1-2 inches. mas may expectation nga lang kay Raven Cortez because of his stint in batang gilas and former DLSZ star and Palacielo is not. i think he will be okay. i like him also.
Yeah, baka nga na-hype ako masyado. I still think if he can get more usage, he'll be a difference maker. Sadly, Coach Jeff Napa doesn't see it that way hehe - Gab

Any idea why the Ateneo vs NU PinoyLiga game scheduled last Sunday went into default? Thank you!
Study day daw for Ateneo for their exams. Unfortunately, they only informed Pinoyliga the day before so they couldn't cancel/reschedule the game
Grabe naman ksi ung Quiambao pang Pro league na ung skill. Give chance to other players my men, pra maganda laban ng lahat ng team.
