The mounting pressure and expectations of Waluigi before the ribbon dance grow too heavy and crush his already frail ego to the point it simply no longer exists. All misplaced and forced perceptions of who he is and who is supposed to be vanish and the only thing left is his love of the sport. I would like to politely inform you that he is not a hedgehog, but in fact, a chameleon. His name is Espio, and he originated from Knuckles' Chaotix on the Sega 32X.
To be fair, Espio barely looks like a chameleon, and is only one of two reptiles in the primary Sonic cast. When I was a kid and I first saw him in Shadow, I had no idea wtf he was.
