- To celebrate the arrival of the new live action version of The Little Mermaid (26th May), eight time Oscar winner, and renowned Disney composer, Alan Menken, reveals what it’s like to have created some of the most well-known and well-loved movie songs of all time. Plus, he’ll be treating us to a medley of some of his greatest hits, including songs from The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.

This man is probably one of the most talented composers of his generation, every single piece oh music he put out is so beautiful

This man made my childhood. The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, and so many more iconic movies. A true legend ❤
His story of how we was inspired to write the 'death by nitrous oxide' in Little Shop of Horrors because his father, a dentist, wrote extensively on the safety of nitrous oxide was hilarious and a GEM. The best performance of all times, in my opinion, was Steve Martin playing the dentist in Little Shop of Horrors. If you haven't seen it, your missing out on one of the BEST performances of Steve Martin. CLASSIC

I watch the trailers of the live action remake. Absolutely amazing! I love the bit when Flounder was on 'Who Do You Think You Are?' and he found out he is decended from Jaws!

I got new wonderful world of disney live called Aladdin i got characters actresses and actors with and you will let me put on the monkey puppet of tiger puppet.
Oh dear composer who have good singing voices are rare ..Burt Bacharach and jimmy webb also would not make a talent final for their singing voices .I admire Mr Menkens composing skills ..and beautifully done ...by others
