I bought my amaryllis in bloom, after it bloomed I moved it to a bigger pot, after that only a little bit of root grew and the bulb didn't store energy. I waited about five months and nothing. Then one day I counted the basal part of the root and put it in water and I didn't cut the leaves. I waited about ten days and no roots. Then I put it in the soil and to this day the bulb hasn't stored any energy and it has no roots. Now what do I do? 😢😢

You know what? I bought a after-blooming bulb in April, it didn't grow roots a month after I planted it in soil. So I dig it up, trimed the basal and sat it on water. After 2 weeks, the roots eyes protruded which was a sign of roots growth, but yet no roots came out after another week, so I pot it up in soil again in late May. A month and a half later, still no roots, no leaves. Again, I dig it up and sat it on the water. I almost lost patience so I put it on a corner, and forgot about it. Until someday in August, it finally grew many white and beautiful roots in water. 😂
As for your case, my advice is if it's no use to keep the leaves without roots. Trim them, leaving only a few inches long. Don't try to lift it up to check if it has roots when it is in soil, that's a bad habit. Not sure if your soil is easy to retain moisture, if not, try use damp sand or other medium that is easy to keep moist, sit the bulb on it.
PS: I still got a very stubbon one refuses to grow any roots after 3 month! Perhaps I can make another video on it. LOL
