    That was certainly a mixed bag, looked nice and peaceful though and the church was interesting. Thank you so much for the shout out, we are planning on doing a few shout outs ourselves in the near future 👍

      Hey! Thanks for watching. I haven’t done many shout outs recently and thought I’d make an effort.
      I did enjoy this walk apart from the dusty construction site. I’d do it again. I hope they keep the footpaths where they are even after the railway is built. 😀

    My ancestors lived in Claydon for generations, and many were baptized, married, and/or buried at the St James the Great Church. I visited there in the summer of 2000. Thanks for letting me return.

    The millennium way walks sound great, very well championed by you Rach! 👌 the Rapeseed field was wild lol, a bit Jurassic Park....stay out of the long grass! Think in that instance the greenspaces was enjoying you! Have a great week, thanks for the video, Ceri and Kat ☕ 😀 😊 ❤ p.s watched with jammy toast and tea....Kat was instant on a ramble snack!

      Ha! Ramble snacks are good 😊 thanks for watching. It was a bit Jurassic Park in places! 😳 Hopefully the Rapeseed will be harvested soon, it’s a regular feature on a lot of my local walks at present .
      I hope you two are keeping well and getting out and about enjoying the great outdoors 🥰

    It's always good to enjoy a rant once in a while, we all need to do that sometimes 😀 I've never liked the idea of HS2 myself, although we were lucky in Derbyshire as the section that was meant to run through here has now thankfully been shelved. Lovely walk, can't beat overgrown fields, a canal, and two beautiful churches. Definitely what rambling is all about 😊 Thank you so much Rachel for the shoutout too, that was lovely and much appreciated. Have a great week 👍

    • @ramblingracheltrailtales
      @ramblingracheltrailtales  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Patrick. Most of my local walks as lowland areas. Plenty of farmland, rolling fields and canals to explore. It’s not the same as the Peak District but I like walking in different terrains.
      Have a great week and take care 😎

      Hello 👋 Yeah HS2 is an absolute eye sore. When you see the destruction up close, it brings it home. Not much mention of it in the press at the moment.
      Thank you for watching and commenting ☺️

    I love looking around old churches and that looked a great example. Loved the buttercups in the field and the barges on the canal, hated the cows lol but thankfully they were behind a fence, not too keen on the workings either and ohh rant, rant...lol! That rapeseed field looked rough mind and I did make it through to the end and I am a big fan of Tea in Valhalla and the GEN guys, nice 8.5 mile hike, cheers Alan

      Yeah I need to get back into the habit of doing a few more shout out in videos.
      I really liked this walk despite the HS2 section. But that's how it goes sometimes.
      Thanks for watching Alan, have a great week and take care xx

    Hey Rach, the church was a little beauty … do not even get me onto the hs2 … I mean seriously what a waste of ******** money …
    5 foot 3 ….. and a bit lol !!! I’ve never walked through a rapeseed field before … looked like fun though 😂😂😂 some great shoutouts to some great channels, catch you soon ❤️

    • @ramblingracheltrailtales
      @ramblingracheltrailtales  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ‘bit’ is very important lol! Technically 5’3.5 😜
      I’ve had to tackle a few rapeseed fields recently, hopefully they will be harvested soon and the footpaths will be easier to access. Thankfully I didn’t stack it on this one! 🙃
      Thanks for watching and catch you on another one soon 😎

    Loved this Rachel, got off to the perfect start obviously with the free parking and a nice Church tour. The HS2 is annoying it will benefit relatively few people but it has done so much damage to nature and people! This 41 circular idea is brilliant, I could do a similar thing along The Cleveland Way, ive made circulars along the entire way! Ah thanks for the awesome shout out Rachel, got a couple of those channels and will definitely check out the others! Have an awesome week. Oh and the fighting through the rapeseed had me laughing so hard, im sorry but ive been there a few times myself! You did very well not to curse, but then you are an absolute Saint! ♥️♥️

      Hi ya, I’d love to do the Cleverland Way. I really need to get further up north and do more hiking. I’ve got my eye on the Herriot’s Way in Yorkshire Dales, possibly this summer. Have you done any sections on that long distance path?
      Yeah HS2 makes my blood boil… it was a fairly moderate rant! But I still enjoyed my walk despite the construction site section.
      Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great week ☺️ Happy hiking 🥾

    • @GENerationXplorers
      @GENerationXplorers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ramblingracheltrailtales Gosh, just looked into that Rachel, we haven’t touched on any of the Herriot’s Way, just goes to show you how vast Yorkshire is! We did a four and a half hour round trip to explore Nidderdale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales on Saturday, that was really nice! Just researching The Peak District and its far eastern parts we could possibly visit on a day trip. We have never set foot on any part of it so might be planning a couple of trips out that way whilst the lighter days are with us. Loved the rant and the rapeseed, ive been buried head to toe in the stuff several times, really tickled me! ♥️ 🥾

    That trail looks nice and great you can do it in smaller sections. 45 are a lot...
    That train, I guess they want a high-speed train. Maybe that way less people will fly, which might be more ecological... 😏
    All the best! Kaat

      It’s a real shame, it’s bizarre how one minute it’s quiet rolling fields and then, wham! Trucks on dusty tracks everywhere 😟
      However I did really enjoy the walk. Thanks watching 😀

    I was really enjoying this until you showed us the destructing caused by the Hs2 line...its heartbreaking to see as it cuts trough beautiful countryside and Ancient woodlands..I have passed through a fair few of those oilseed rape fields in my time..soaking wet sometimes,...yeah Broad beans are far more friendlier ...all in all a smashing walk [ apart from Hs2 ]

    • @ramblingracheltrailtales

      Hi ya, thanks for tuning in. It was a lovely little walk, despite the HS2 site. It’s a blog on the landscaper. Made me feel quite angry in fact. 😖
