So true, the SA relationship is everything. I met and built my SA relationship 100% over the phone and didn’t meet them in person until I picked up my bag. The nearest boutique to me is 5 hours away so for anyone that is far from the actual store can build that relationship without ever going into the boutique.
Yes I know some similar situations of this I just didn't want to overcomplicate the video but I do give different advice to ppl who live very far from boutique ☺️
I have a friend who lives in Europe (not France), she bought a Rose gold ring and got offered a Kelly 28, then last week she bought Orans and got offered another Kelly 28. A month ago her friend bought a t-shirt and got offered a Kelly 28 then the following week she also got offered a Birkin 25. It's not fair how some countries they easily offer bags where as here in Australia it feels like we have to beg for bags and some SA's take you for a ride. I'm done with playing the game here. I'll wait until I got to Europe. Great video TFS xox
I'm Asian, so I think i can say this..but i think we have to go live in a place where there are no Asians. Maybe in Poland or north pole hermes then I think i will get offered after buying 1 twilly =)
I was super lucky I’d say after hearing about everyone’s experience. Mine was easy. We went in to purchase a pair of shoes. Expressed to our SA about my interest in a Birkin or Kelly. She called us a week and a half later & told us she had a bag for me... & it was exactly what I wanted, except the size. I wanted a 30 but they offered a 35 which was fine as it was the classic iconic size. I went back to drop even more $$ on other items. It’s been great & I think I’m definitely lucky.
Purseonfleek Can you do a video on gift ideas, nice gestures.. that you have done for your SA’s after you were offered a bag? I sent flowers w/a card and a dozen Macarons but I feel like it’s not enough. I’ve always wondered what others do for their SA’s.
Your 10 tips are super helpful, I find that your content is very informative and so true. I’ve been working with my lovely SA in Bangkok for 3 years, like you mentioned, my first birkin 30 (etoupe) was fast in a matter of 1-2 months. I totally agree with you by shopping the top categories, I scored the first birkin because of Heure watch, the second birkin was offered after cashmere shawl, I expect to acquire the third one in this year and I guess the rose gold necklace will seal the deal! Again, thanks for sharing and I love your channel.
If I ever get to the stage of buying one, I think I will have to go pre-loved, because I know the colour etc I would like. I think for all that money I’d like to pick exactly 💕
Totally understand exactly why I shop Preloved as well. I'll prob always chase a boutique offer but I only buy things I like I won't be a high roller with loads of RTW/fine jewellery lol
Thank you so much for sharing this! My husband went into Hermes store 2 weeks ago in Sydney and told them he was looking for an anniversary gift for me. Then he got an offer for a mini constance bag last week just in time for our anniversary ❤ I am very happy and now we are aiming for a Kelly bag next and will be visiting the store often with the same sa 🥰🥰
Hi just started watching your videos. Thanks so much! So much information to take home. I've just scored a gold on gold Kelly 25 retourne, Togo leather as my first illusive bag. Now onto my second. The situation is our border is still not open and we have exclusively liaised with our SA through emails, phone calls etc so far. However, the border where my SA is located is now opened. But not ours. We still can't visit the store in person. It's really frustrating. How best should I continue to play the game to ensure scoring? My gameplan now is to wait until maybe early next year and buy some RTW/fine gold jewellery. Do you think that's wise? Or do I keep buying something smaller every month to keep in touch so to speak?
I have heard of ppl getting offers shipped to them that are in a diff state to where they shop. But beware there is a stock issue worse than ever so it’s way more competitive now to be able to get a bag
That explains how I scored my Birkin in one month, which could have been even faster if I accepted the black epsom B30. I bought quite a few home items in my pre-spending. And by the way, the items from the Crystal Saint Louis (crazily expensive lights, glass items, etc. ) could be ordered through your SA, too. I hope it would give people more ideas on what to shop in order to score your dream bag x p.s. Such a lovely baby💗
Thankyou! Honestly I'm so clumsy I break crockery every month last month i broke 5 bowls in one go! That's why I can't imagine buying anything more than a sushi plate for perfume decoration n that's it!😂😂
The #mirbags wallet I purchased is not only stylish but also incredibly functional. It's spacious enough to carry all my essentials and the quality of the leather is exceptional.
Thank you so much for making this video. It was very helpful. Can you do one going into detail about the Hermes SA commission system ie. what items count towards their commission? Thanks.
i am planning to film some series on key items to buy in each category "top tier commissions, middle range and lower range." video may be titled "curating your H collection items to buy (insert categories)" and in those vids i'll discuss kind of commission levels/if favourable or not. be sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell so you can be informed of each new video i upload :) you may also find my hermes q&A playlist helpful th-cam.com/play/PL9BtqqqJOGzByHzyPoXI89IpIvEbzhsgu.html
Yes I live in Europe near France and the legend unfortunately is true. There are Birkins all over the place here, like rain. Europe is just one big fashion continent. Its all we do and talk about here. It’s just so boring if someone has gotten another one, like come on, what else is new. I unfortunately have to decline Birkins all day, seriously they started begging me to take the bags, so sad. By the way, there are dragons here too. So don’t come over.
I totally agree with your points especially the final one. I am from London where competition is fierce..I bought a mechanical lady watch and a rose gold ring and asked for a b25 in gold with gold hardware in Togo ( I am way too specific I know) .After two weeks I got a call from my SA, it was the right size the right colour but wrong hardware..so I turned it down..i will say it was a very quick turnaround.
Totally agree with the pointers!! 💯 All are similar to what I did (building a relationship with my SA in my local boutique etc). I’m very blessed to have an amazing SA 🧡 thanks for sharing this, lovely!
Love your channel and thank you for sharing your knowledge of Hermes with us...I listen to your videos on my drives to the store so I don’t sound clueless talking to the SA’s 😅 do you know when an SA orders an item online for you (because the particular specs isn’t available in the store), does it still count toward your purchase history at the store or with your SA? I don’t see my SA’s name on the receipt but the receipt does mention the store location. Thanks!
I'm glad you love my videos! If your SA orders the item from online and she/he is the one who directly places the transfer of stock for you to collect and pay at the store then yes absolutely your SA will get the comission. However if you place an order online then of course your SA won't get the comission.
@Purseonfleek thank you for the reply!! Hmm, my SA ordered the item for me but is having it directly shipped to my home. I physically paid at the store though. Does that make a difference?
Hi, thank you, learning so much about Hermès from you. I wanted to know your opinion on this situation. I’m just starting my Hermès journey and I have purchased a couple of items I love already and I finally expressed my interest to my SA about wanting my first Hermès bag to be a Birkin and he suggested a Constance and that clients usually get this bag first. Do you think I will be jumping around hoops and playing the game for a very long time with this SA? Should I try and work with another?
Hmmm it depends on the store maybe he is telling the truth that the policy at the store is usually a constance first. But if U don't want a constance first best to outright say it that you don't want that to be your first dream bag and then guage his response from there.
Dear, very very useful advices at least for me! Usually I go online when it’s something I want quick and at home 🏠. But as in my wish list there are 1 plate, 1 belt, and another couple of scarves 🧣, I think 🤔 now I will go and have a longer discussion about those items with my SA. I will keep you posted if here in🇨🇭 , I will be proposed for any Hermès handbags 👜😉😉😉. Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing Dear! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😍😍😍💋💋💋
I’ve just made a wish with my boutique in London for a barenia Birkin. I bought homewear, tablewear, fine jewellery, costume jewellery and silks I’m hoping my wish comes true 🤞it will be my first boutique offer if it were to happen 🙈
Awesome tips! 💕 Sorry not related to buying in boutique at all but wanted to pick your brain - do you know if buying from Singaporean resellers/consignment stores attract GST?
Hi Mel!! Always love these in depth H videos from you! I just moved to Sydney last year and just started going in more regularly to the new petit maison because it's just so beautiful! However, I'm having difficulty meeting an SA that is not a casual or a trainee... i've bought from both of them but not sure how or if I should carry the relationship forward as they're still a trainee and hence might have a more difficult time being able to get approval to offer me a bag even after spending a few grand on different categories as you mentioned... any tips?
Trainees are not trainees for long. My first ever SA was a trainee and she offered me a bag right after she was no longer a trainee. I believe trainees can still offer bags and definitely casuals can too. Also note everyone's journey is different sometimes a few grand spent you can score but I also mentioned you should go in prepared to potentially spend 1:1 or more especially if you have ever scored before at a boutique.
Hi! I really enjoyed this video and couldn’t agree more on all points! Also, oh my goodness, what an adorable sweetie pie your son is! 😇 (Also your daughter - I’ve seen her in many of your vids - adorable with her curls!!😊) How do you manage to keep up with TH-cam with 2 little ones, plus you always look so pretty and put together! Thanks for sharing
Aw thanks Julie! Honestly I'll film like 3 videos in one sitting haha so I can get a good backlog. I usually film when my husband can watch the kids or if my daughter is having a sleep over at her nan n pops . I think the hardest is the editing lol
Hi. Just came back from Paris. It was such an amazing time there. Hermes stores were incredible. I bought so much beautifull stuff ne scored one bag too. I ´v got 3 H bags from personal shoppper before but I think their prices are the way too high. Really love to Collect these bags but I have the feeling it would be smarter to shop everything neerby me. So I find my own SA as You say. Instead of waiting if I will have luck in Paris. What do You think?
Hi thanks for your useful tips .xx . My recent experience : My SA told me that during the Christmas season, they don't take the appointment anymore and she can't hold for me any item which I found them online . Do you think she is kind of pushing me away ?? or its a true situation. The Christmas season is special time ? End of day I had to buy my items through other SA after I talked to my SA over the phone before I heading to store. She said she already fully booked no appointment on the day (said no allowed appointment before) anyway I said if you don't mind , I am ok with others SA to serve me . Basically I asked her permission . Anyway the experience was not very desirable or I didn't feel they wanna me. Maybe I am noot VIP and didn't purchase too much yet . I Feel been treated not fair with others customers . I guess hermes doesn't care who is not big buyer !
Completely true that they won't hold items and may not take apt. My SA said the same to me it's definitely just Christmas season they cannot hold anything due to high demand. So don't worry I got told the same for many years at Xmas time 😅
Unfortunately now with covid19 since no travel it's hard to advise as U can definitely build relationships remotely but likely have to still be within same country or able to travel to where U will shop from and buy more of Ur wishlist in each shop
I was offered my first Kelly (first Hermès bag period) and declined, as I could not justify another black bag. Do you think I limited my chances of being offered another bag?
Ahhh, wish I lived in another country lol. Were I live (Norway/Scandinavia) there is a different system....one that I can't figure out haha. The SA's don't get commission here. So they never chat too much, they are polite and helpful, but will never try to get you to buy stuff. They also very often just push you towards their website. They have a lot of arguments to why it's so much better for you to buy things online. This also mean there is no such thing as a wish-list here. I've asked so many times but they just say that sorry we do not have that. Not for any items, they just say better to look online. I also lost my buying history when the store changed location. So stressful. Had a good amount of scarves, scarf-rings, shawls, bracelets etc...all gone. Sometimes it feels a bit like a store just for show....you know. "We have a store in Norway, but it's not really a store, just one on display" lol.
Love your vids and thanks for the tips. 2 weeks ago I bought my 2nd slg from Hermes. My dream bag is a Constance. I ask the sa for a Constance and he said there is a waiting list for 3 years!!! I ask can I put my name on the list and the answer is no. I was heartbroken, I think I have to buy more Hermes items.
In my boutique they did get rid of the waitlist. However in some countries they still have it. Perhaps the list was closed as they can't have it open constantly. However to score without the list you definitely need to show more loyalty/interest in the other items they have ; as per the video😁
Thanks for sharing!!!❤️ question- if providing SA with the item code and have them order for you online, does it still count towards their commission? Is that frowned upon? I’m curious because I’ve tried that with my SA and she says “unavailable sorry”
If they cannot order it then you would be at a dead end. Then definitely get it online but in most circumstances they can order stock for you either by transferring from another store or reserve it for U if it's expected to arrive in that store. Each country is different some can transfer from the online store some cannot. Usually in my experience it's transfer from other boutique or reserve once stock arrives
I got my first Hermes bag which is a Constance after waiting 5 months and purchasing about $3500 usd worth of their products. I’m thinking of maybe going for a Birkin or Kelly next year but wonder how much I would need to spend on their quota before they might give me an bag🤔
Yes but not my own I had tested one before and found it quite flimsy and not space economical since it's not made to fit like a glove. it's hard to use the pockets inside because there is no structure to the insert
I'll answer this in detail in a Hermes Q&A video. I have touched on it loosely in a few videos. In a nutshell first bag is a way to introduce U to the house, make it special, introduce U to the craftsmanship. Subsequent bags get harder because U now compete with all the regular customers who are chasing "quota bags".
@@Purseonfleek Makes sense. The reason why I ask is because I'm going to pick up my very 1st quota bag this Sunday! It's a B 30 in Rouge Casaque Togo in GHW. I haven't gotten my first one yet and I'm already dreaming about the next one! :P
Rodeos are very sought after and easy to sell they probably do get a teeny tiny comission on them but nothing like the harder to sell items like fine jewellery , rtw & homewares
My boutique is in a densely populated area with high tourist demand and people are prepared to buy an arm and a leg to get a bag so I would say that your tips are pretty accurate. Stock is better here than in Australia so I think that it's a bit easier. I'm so grateful that my SA does not make me jump through these hoops since although I could buy more, I have set aside a very limited budget for luxury and choose not to buy much from Hermes other than Birkins and Kellys right now. For ex I got a K28 etain at the beginning of the year and a B30 gold last month with zero spending in between. Funnily, I do genuinely love homeware, silks, fine jewelry from the brand and plan to venture down that road after I get the bags that I want. Totally backwards! My Hermes journey is not the norm because of my great relationship with my SA. I know for a fact that even most people at my local boutique have to rack up a serious spend to get offered similar bags. I love the bags but I don't have the patience for the game. I appreciate your honesty.
@@xxbwaldorf I don't think that I did anything special. My SA and I don't have much in common except for a really dry sense of humor. I was also not interested in bags at first so I wasn't necessarily trying to build a relationship so we chatted about other things. It was really natural so that probably helped.
So Coco thank you for the tips! I’ve only been to one of the stores in the city, came in looking for the Oasis sandals and the SA that I met there was quite dismissive so that really put me off. I’ll keep trying!
That's great to hear! I have heard that when U are a bit "meh" for chasing a bag it makes it easier😂😂 . Australia makes up for only 2% of the Hermes boutiques worldwide lol so we are definitely low on the priority of stock receiving 😂😂
The variety of textures in the *yutulux* pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
So true, the SA relationship is everything. I met and built my SA relationship 100% over the phone and didn’t meet them in person until I picked up my bag.
So don't worry I got told the same for many years at Xmas time 😅
@@Purseonfleekyou make me feel relieved now....thanks xx
Any pointers for when you don’t have a boutique in your country would be appreciated :) I’m based in nz and I don’t foresee us ever having a boutique.
Unfortunately now with covid19 since no travel it's hard to advise as U can definitely build relationships remotely but likely have to still be within same country or able to travel to where U will shop from and buy more of Ur wishlist in each shop
Hi Mel, may i ask where you bought your Kelly 25 from please ?
This video will answer that and also U may find it helpful! th-cam.com/video/CofJapKDSpw/w-d-xo.html
@@Purseonfleek cool !!! Thank you so much ❤
I was offered my first Kelly (first Hermès bag period) and declined, as I could not justify another black bag. Do you think I limited my chances of being offered another bag?
No definitely not you can still get an offer if U stay in mind with your SA
Thanks for the response. Interestingly enough, I went to the boutique a month later and was offered a Kelly/28/Sellier/Etain! Absolutely gorgeous.
Which store and city pls?? And what did u buy to score?
@@jan00000001 I personally heard this miracle happened in Krakow on a rainy afternoon.
"We have a store in Norway, but it's not really a store, just one on display" lol.
thats so interesting!!!
Does SLG’s count in bettering your chances of getting a birkin?
They do count but not a favourite category like the ones mentioned in point 10.
@@Purseonfleek Thank you!
Thanks for sharing!!!❤️ question- if providing SA with the item code and have them order for you online, does it still count towards their commission? Is that frowned upon? I’m curious because I’ve tried that with my SA and she says “unavailable sorry”
Susan H thanks so much for letting me know❤️❤️❤️
If they cannot order it then you would be at a dead end.
I’m thinking of maybe going for a Birkin or Kelly next year but wonder how much I would need to spend on their quota before they might give me an bag🤔
each store definitely differs and depends stock too! right now stock is less cos of covid.
Which store and city?
Have you ever used the Hermès inserts?
Yes but not my own I had tested one before and found it quite flimsy and not space economical since it's not made to fit like a glove. it's hard to use the pockets inside because there is no structure to the insert
Is it harder to score a 2nd bag? If so, why is that?
May I ask how much you paid for the Birkin 30?
I think it was 16300 ish but Its definitely gone up by now and probably at 17k+
Very helpful my lady, thanks! 🙏🏼❤️🍊😘😘😘Sandy
Lol I got a Rodeo from online but all others from directly from SA of course
I just asked my SA to get a rodeo for me thinking that he will make a commission.
Why no commission on this piece? I don't understand.
Rodeos are very sought after and easy to sell they probably do get a teeny tiny comission on them but nothing like the harder to sell items like fine jewellery , rtw & homewares
@@Purseonfleek thanks for your reply my dear.
Am I weird for loving the Hermes Blankets and Pillows? lol I guess I'm just all about being cozy hehe :) PS your baby is the cutest baby ever! :)))
Nooo not weird at all they are really nice!
Did you say that shoes purchased get included in the 1:1 spend ratio? also what about the wallets??
Shoes and wallets yes. They all count, shoes more so than say small slgs(Calvi/Bastia). But in a nutshell they definitely count.
ohh your baby is so sweet :)
May I ask how you started building a relationship with your SA? I live in the same city as you and am about to start my Hermes journey 🙈
I don't think this video is valid because she didn't even get any birkins or kellys that's why she got blacklisted at her local Sydney store.
