Hi looking to get a titan on ebay with no seat .If i get a new seat from gt omega would in have all the sliding rails to bolt straght on to the frame ? cheers james
I would assume yes, that the rails come with the seat not the frame, but I bought it all together so I can't be sure. Best to ask GT Omega or maybe find a video of only seat or frame. That said, I wouldn't recommend the seat. The Titan frame is awesome, totally recommend that, but the seat is not very solid, too much flex from the side without the adjustment mechanism, and mine creaks now. Unless you really need a seat with adjustable back, I'd go with a solid bucket seat, or even just get a real car seat from a breakers yard or something.
Make sure you don't confused those Marada (Hottoby) Tube Cockpit selling on ebay with the GT Omega Titan. They look similar at first look but they are different in rigidity & construction.
It's a gorgeous-looking cockpit. I'd ordered an NLR GT Elite (aluminium profile) rig with a bucket non-reclining seat before I'd seen this. To be honest I wish I had waited, but sure I'll be happy. One thing you touched on which seems to be a common fault with all reclining seats is the weakness in the reclining mechanism which impacts rigidity. My new rig will have a rigid, non-reclining seat, but if this rig had a fixed seat it would have been my choice. BTW, I have a G Pro wheel and pedals, too. Amazing piece of kit 🙂 Great review.
Thanks :) well I do think an aluminium profile rig is generally better choice. This rig is very good, simple and more importantly very clean looking, but a profile rig allows for customisation. The seat is the weak point. The rig itself.is great, but the seat is a weak point. It creaks now too. I have a rigid seat on my main rig, it's so much better. But certainly this rig with a rigid bucket seat, on heavily duty castors like I have added, is the more practical solution for some.
no cat in the box ?? im not buying ! do you find the frame loud when ffb hits ? i game late night and dont want noise to travel to other apartments . i have a thinner version of the titan and kind of rattles ? i am using a moza R5
Great video. I’ve got a 146cm long space to put it under my stairs. Does the seat slide far enough forward that it is in line with the rear of the rig? I’m concerned the overhang you mention at the rear will push me past the amount of space I’ve got. Cheers
Just tried it and yes the seat goes in quite a bit further than the rear of the rig. With my seat back at the usual angle, the very top was in line with the rear of the rig. This can obviously angled in more to take up less room storing it. If you plan to use it under you stairs though, unless your very very small, there's no room to actually sit in the rig and use it with the seat so far forward. Not for me and my wheel anyway, and I can't imagine anyone could. If you had the back directly vertical, the seat could go back some and still be in line, but not sure if that would be a good fit or comfy for you.
@@AdamsSIMporium Thanks for getting back to me on this, I really appreciate it. It’s not to use under the stairs, it’s just somewhere that I can hide it when not in use. I was going to put it on casters and then I can roll it away out of sight! Cheers
@@mattyman That would of been a good point to cover in the review really. Here is a pic with the seat forward and upright to show how much less space it takes... ibb.co/YQnYg8T
Not sure the name of the seat, but I wouldn't recommend a GT Omega seat. I believe they are generally all the same but different size. It's the weak point of the rig. There is way too much flex in the left side, as the adjustment mechanism is only on the right side. You'd be better off with a rigid seat, real car seat, or the new Next Level Racing seat has the adjustment mechanism in both sides. So the Titan is great, I'd just look elsewhere for the seat.
oh ok thanks for replying, are the holes on the rig 6mm or 8mm? My Titan on the way, but i will need castors on it straight away so want to order in advance, cheers
I just finished putting mine together, feels great. One thing I noticed is that my seat only slides like 1 to 2 inches. I'm wondering if that's normal or if maybe there are some bolts colliding preventing the runners from moving.
@Adam's SimPorium I realized my mistake. I fed the bolts from the bottom of the square frame bit up through the runners on the bottom of the seat, so the nuts were stopping the chair from sliding forward and back. I just took it apart and fed the bolts in from the top of the runners and now the chair slides back and forth perfectly. I think the instructions could be a bit more clear. Thanks for the reply.
For me (5'10") with the G Pro pedals and that seat, it's 150cm from the very tip of the pedals to the tip of the headrest, measuring along the floor. Of course other pedals may stick out less, and when not in use you can slide the seat forward and/or angle the back forward.
My dilemma... I have a GTOMega Apex stand, and getting the rear frame and one of their seats will cost me $410 USD. That is uncomfortably close to the Titan cockpit and from the hand full of reviews I watched on TH-cam concerning the full Apex cockpit, I would be better served with getting a different cockpit all together. We are about the same size in height, so seeing you in the Titan really pushes me towards it. I'm wondering how much adjustability do you have with the shifter? I currently have a TH8A, but I am planning on getting the Fanatec Shifter. I would need the shifter mount to be a lot higher for the TH8A, and when I get the SQ 1.5, it needs to be lower than a bow legged caterpillar. Would the Titan be able to do this, or should I just go for an aluminum cockpit?
Well for the shifter to go really low, you would only need to cut the one vertical piece of square tubing which has the mount plate on top (I am holding it at 10:20). If you cut it shorter, you could lower it further without it hitting the floor
Hi, unfortunately yes, however as I am selling my Titan rig (I don't need to keep two rigs lol) I can sell you the 6 you need if you're interested. Hello Adam. I’m thinking of buying the Logitech wheel and pedals, in this video. Would you say they are worth the £1350? I really wanted to go fanatec but I hear nightmare stories about customer service and Logitech will be much easier. Have you buy any chance owned a Logitech g29? If so, how does it compare to the wheel in this video?
Hi, I have owned a g29 and my Bro still does. They do not compare at all! The g29 is a great wheel, but incomparison it's a toy. The Pro wheel is a serious bit of kit, as are the pedals. Is it worth £1350, well I guess it depends what else you can get for that, but it is a real nice bit of kit. People complain the wheel base ahs plastic housing, but it's high quality and I've not thought twice about that. Basically I'd say it's definitely one to consider. It's a shame there is no news on more rims yet, and no shifter unless you but the usual old Logitech one and a £40 adapter. I have and wouldn't recommend it but wait until if/when they release a pro shifter too.
@@AdamsSIMporium I’m on Ps5 so not much option for me. If I order directly from Logitech, will it ship from U.K.? Still no other wheel base available? Are there even any coming? I don’t mind waiting for gear shifter but could it be a long wait for more wheels?
@@grahamkelly8662 Mine came from UK, was fast delivery. No idea about other wheels yet, not seen anything. That said, the one wheel is very good and a nice size for everything.
@@AdamsSIMporium ah sweet. I may order in near future. I mean, I’m sure you’re right in saying the comparison between g29 and Logitech direct drive , is night and day so I guess once I actually use it for first time, I’m sure I’ll be very happy. Looks super cool and premium but Logitech route will be so much easier and stress free.
@@grahamkelly8662 Lol well the long and short of it is you can overpower a g29, whereas a direct drive wheel has potential to hurt you! It's not all about the strength though, but everything stems from that really.
