      Where did were you able to find the parts? Also are there different sizes depending on which front load LG washer you have? @tunedis95 @janehouck

      @@thecoolestmf I looked my brand (LG Tromm WM2688HNM and “washer water inlet valve”) up on line. I ended up purchasing the part from Sears PartsDirect. It came out to $77.88 (found a coupon on line and saved $7.12 or else it would have cost me more). Hope this help. Just in case, the part number for my model was 5220FR2008F. Money was worth it. I no longer have water all over my floor; standing water in the drum; no FE error, etc. Haven’t had to babysit my washer. Sooooo happy 🤗. We watched the video as we installed it so the video was very helpful!

    Top came off the same for my LG WM2240CW. I saw hot and cold were separate valves. Realized Flood-Safe hoses were the reason no water was getting into washer - I changed well filters the day before. Another example of a safety feature that becomes its own problem. Thank you for posting your work.

    Why did you adjust the pressure switch if it was functional?

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sure there were test done, but I felt like not enough water got mixed in with the clothes. So I adjusted the screw to let more water mix in.

    How do you know if the pressure switch needs to be adjusted?

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  ปีที่แล้ว

      To me, it's set up to use minimal water so It sounds good on the brochure. I increased amount of water because I figure the water penetrates and helps agitate the clothes more. When rinsing, more water to get off the soap. It was just a personal thing for me.

    I think my valves get stuck closed at times or they’re stopped up one

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a mesh filter right where you tie into the water hose, may check/clean that pre-filter. You can also get more intrusive if there were no issue with the mesh filter and take apart the valves to clean and reassemble. For me, since I was taking apart the unit, swapped out all valves for new while in there. If you plan ahead and not in a hurry, you can just order the parts online. I went ahead a drove to local distributor since I was in a hurry.

    When it comes to washing machines I never knew where to go to get OEM parts...is it typically local shops or is it strictly online

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get a lot of OEM parts from ebay, dealers sell lots of inventory on there. In this case, I wanted parts same day and new a local appliance shop for OEM LG components. Yes, they all probably come from China, but surely OEM has more strenuous standards than a knock off. Figured I would support small business and went local, but did cost me a bit more.

    Hi tunedis95 I have a question for you I have a LG washing machine line yours and when it’s not working the machine filled up with water is it the valve your changing on it it be machine is four to five years is the valve faulty

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say yes. That's exactly what mine was doing. Filling up to the point the discharge pump couldn't keep up with the water supply to the point water would actually leak out the front door. Solenoid valve was sticking.
      For piece of mind, I added a water sensor under the washing machine, if sensor is ever tripped, the installed smart water meter instantly shuts off water to the house. This is probably worth a video in itself.

  • @shivraj67
    @shivraj67 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Was your replacement hot water valve very noisy? I just replaced the same part on mine with an LG OEM part and it whistles loudly when letting hot water in.

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is your screen mesh in the inlet clean, and free of leaks? My solenoid valve makes no noise, I just hear the water flow similar to what you hear behind the wall of a shower.

    • @shivraj67
      @shivraj67 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tunedis95 thanks for responding. The screens are clear especially since it's new, I guess the valve is slow to open fully

    Will this fix my problem? Water wont fill in washer machine . Hoses are good and have good water pressure .

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No water or hot water come on, almost sounds like your water inlet valves. Without being there, I would change that first. You can order the knock off components pretty cheap.

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also make sure your water inlet valves are not clogged. They could have debris in them.

    How did you know how much to adjust the pressure switch? I get FE error plus small leaks under the washer. Replaced the fill valves, problem persists.

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the hose going to that little pressure switch chafed or anything? Is the door sealing properly? Inspect the complete grey seal.
      As far as the amount to adjust the pressure, couple turns, then ran it to see if I was happy. Took me a few adjustments to be happy.

    • @josephrodeheaver6602
      @josephrodeheaver6602 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I replaced the valves and now get an FE error code. Before installing the valves I never had an error, but a small leak in the drum.
      Could it be I need to adjust the pressure switch?

    Great video! Is it possible to first try “cleaning” the valve? How do we know it’s faulty?

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There is a mesh type filter I checked, and yes you can try to clean the solenoids/valves, and test. In my case, the dryer and washer were given to us, so I just spent the extra money to just replace to be done with it.
      For me, the valve was stuck open, with the drain pump constantly on to pump out water. My smart water flow meter actually caught the excess water usage, which is why I investigated. So I went straight to replacing the decade old valves.

    • @tunedis95

    I've had the highest rated, to mid rated front loading washing machines and dryers. They all have cheap chinese parts inside. My advice is go back to the conventional washers and dryers to get years of no trouble service from them.

    • @tunedis95
      @tunedis95  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It took us about 6-months to finally agree to depart with our old top loader style machines. They were super easy to fix, very cheap to maintain, and just super simple to work with. I'll give the new machines one thing, the rate at which the barrel of the washing machine spins. Dries the clothes so well that the drier only needs to be on for 10 minutes or so. But yes, I agree with you.

      Real OEM or fake OEM? I can't find a real one for less than $125 right now from an LG authorized parts dealer. There's really good OEM replicas on Amazon but they're not certified.
