Tofu, lentils, grilled oily fish, sushi, khichdi, pickled greens, noodle soups, and dosas are all eaten with great enthusiasm in my home for breakfast. Maybe these are not all authentic breakfast dishes, but it works for us. Thanks again!

I followed this idli recipe and made it yesterday-I can't tell you how tasty it was! Idli is my go-to food, but I didn’t know how to cook it, and my mother doesn’t make it either (no disrespect, everything she cooks is heavenly). I tried cooking it once before (with a different recipe) but failed miserably. But when I made it yesterday, I swear I haven't had idlis this good, not even in any restaurant, and I don't think I'll be able to find ones like these again. If these idlis were served to me in a restaurant, I'd be willing to pay 250-300; they were that good!
Interesting history about Rava Idli : During WW2 there was a lot of shortage of rice and dals in Mysuru state since much of it was sent to Britain for wartime supplies. Due to this the Mavalli Tiffin Room (MTR) in Bengaluru came up with this idli dish made out of Rava (Sooji) since wheat was available at that time. This is how Rava Idli came into being.
I personally don't like rava idli but today I made it by seeing your recipie and it was really awesome. Now I like rava idli very.. It is just awesome. Thank you very much sir.. 😊

Just made this recipe. Wanted to make it vegan nutfree. Instead of curd I used coconut yoghurt. Left out cashews. Turned out delicious!! Thanks for sharing wonderful recipes from India. Love your channel ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Chef I am kannadiga in Bengaluru . Typically the rava idli is served with an item called Bombay saagu made of potatoes and besan ka ghol along with chutney . Also , you should put plenty of coriander leaves along with cashew in the mould before pouring the batter . You get nice green garnish with kaju piece when you unmould it . Sometimes we use mix of fine rava and Jada rava to get idlis which have better binding and less crumbly ( some people feel that crumbly idlis tastes like upma ) . These are my inputs . Rest you have done a perfect job as always .

Made rava idlis for the first time ever today. I'm eating one as I type - fabulous! Super soft, flavorful and my husband who usually avoids idlis loves them! Made crispy little appams with the remaining batter, and they were yumm too! Thank you for this new staple in our home now! ❤
