- Queen Jane will probably remain the only queen of Kikuyu Benga music of all times. Her talent is unmatched! From the youngest to the oldest, we all loved her songs.. and we still do! Today on Metha ya Kagoni; as we celebrate OUR LEGENDS, we remember this queen whose sisters say that she died of depression from a relationship gone sour.

My mom influenced me towards listening to Queen Jane's music. My mom adored Queen Jane to bits and that led me to tryibg to figure out who this legend was. I've been listening to her music since then and she was super talented.
Funny thing, I always go to Lady Wanja's concerts for the longest time and I just got to know that she is Queen Jane's sister. Now I know why I enjoy her music... She is a true reflection of who QUEEN Jane was.. Am so proud to hear that. Queen Jane will always be remembered as the Legend she was. We will always celebrate her
I listen to queen jane music almost everyday.. My music career was first inspired by her. I met her when I was 9 years in a club in Mwea where my dad had taken us for nyama choma... My dad knew I was her fan n so he requested her to let me perform with her n her band and she was so impressed to see I could sing all her songs.. she gave me her address n we became pen pals.. that was in 1994... I met her again when I was in college I think in 2009 at sharks palace kiambu and was accompanied by the late kamaru... We had a lengthy talk n she remembered me. We parted n the next thing that followed was that she was no more... May she continue resting in peace..

This interview has made me shed tears. I belong to that age of queen Jane and I have personally attended her live band in karatina and elsewhere. Sad memories.
In 2019 I was in a toxic relationship the guy was a nercissit who cared about himself only,...I got depressed that I lost alot of weight but he never cared thank God I had a friend who noticed by sudden change in me and she helped me come out of it i know how it feels to be in one I can't wish even my worst to be in one
That was me back 2021.
I used to sing Queen Jane's songs as a little girl but now i love them much cz im familiar with the stories,i can sing word by word ❤❤

Thanks to her dear sisters as they tell us what contributed to her death very sad as she was my role model via her songs. Its good her sisters appreciate that she stood with them and showed them how to catch the fish. Be strong all will be well as God is with us. Nothing is impossible before God.

I started listening to Queen Jane as a very little girl and loved her and her music very much may her legacy live on but sad to hear how undervalued our artists are big names yet struggling to make a living despite the talents. Sing on sisters you have great voices just like your sister and mother.
