    I would go after a civil judgement and attached to their credit. Why should tenants be able to walk away from their financial obligation for destruction of property or stealing by not paying what they financially owe. Tenants expect landlords to not file civil judgements. Heck no file and get the civil judgment.

    What a breath of fresh air..FINALLY information for small landlords who unfortunately sooner or later have to deal with a tenant from HELL. Bravo 👏
    Question for Leslie, I currently have an agreement with a person who is occupying an apt , with queens housing court, to leave by X date, what do I do if they don't leave by the agreed upon date?

    Great interview and so informational. Thank you Rosa for doing this. I'm a landlord and this was very valuable. Too bad I already hired another attorney to handle my case. I would have preferred Leslie. If I don't get results from my current eviction lawyers, I'll be switching over.

    Now the landlord accepts the one shot deal and what if the tenant defaults a on their rent again? Heck no file for the eviction.

    I thought It was now illegal to utilize any background check info in NYC ? Decision can only be made by finically data alone ?

    What about the tenant right? I lost my job at the hospital in 2020 because of a medical illness, I applied for ERAP they paid some of the rent and I appealed for more it had been pending for almost a year.

    Would Leslie defend a tenant against
    a landlord of 16 unit rent stabilized
    apartment building in Brooklyn?

      I doubt she’s a scumbag. You’re obviously trying to cheat the system & get a free ride. Rent stabilization is what makes rent expensive for the rest of us

    • @Jimfromearthoo7
      @Jimfromearthoo7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gio-ue8ps your wrongo rent stabilization keeps the rents in some type of normalization.

    • @Gio-ue8ps
      @Gio-ue8ps ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jimfromearthoo7 lol how? Supply & demand. Rent stabilization keeps supply of units low. People are leaving nyc in droves yet rent is going up, how is that possible? It’s bc of rent stabilization. It screws over property owners so they’re keeping their units empty.

  • @Jimfromearthoo7

    Rosa it would be nice if you would
    have a lawyer that was on the tenants
    side. We tenants need info as well.
    I know that most lawyers take both
    sides. I guess Leslie strictly defends
    property owners and not tenants.
