  • The 2010s were the peak of music: Kreayshawn ("Gucci Gucci"), The Story So Far, Attack Attack, Chief Keef, Migos, Lil Peep, Krewella, DJ Snake and more. This is why the 2010s were the best decade in music! The best songs of the 2010s.

The EDM craze happened right as I was entering my mid-20's. For a lot of people, your mid-20's is when your money/responsibility ratio gets dangerous. By that I mean I did a lot of drugs. A lot of EDM sounds like the best shit ever when you're high. I mostly stopped listening to it when I cooled off on the partying.
My whole life from like 2012-2017 can be described as "I don't want to do it again, but I'm glad I did it."

    • @PalmelaHanderson
      @PalmelaHanderson ปีที่แล้ว +3

@ghost mall Worlds is really good. Fun fact, a LOT of the big EDM producers from the early 2010's were scene kids. Adventure Club, Dillon Francis, Krewella, Zomboy, Bassnectar, the list goes on. All of them were scene kids.

growing up in the late 2000’s- early 2010’s was unironically a wonderful time. all the accessibility in different forms of music. guitar hero and pop punk creeping into the mainstream introducing me into metal, the changing of the guard from rock to trap as the zeitgeist genre, and just the overall goofiness of it all. nostalgia is a drug that i tend to stay away from, but im grateful to have grown up in the era

Went to a couple of EDM events/raves but never any huge festivals. Those were mad pricy but I had a few friends who lived for that shit. Turn Down For What was my favorite of that era. The EDM fad was actually pretty important for a lot of us zoomers xd
I have a lot of friends who got into edm through internet culture (esp. youtube) which was flooded with electronic music in the mid 2010s
and many people got into other forms of alternative music (including rock and metal) or started to venture deeper into more underground electronic stuff,
which is really cool because most of them have a really open mindset when it comes to music and you can actually have a decent conversation about obscure af underground shit and alternative music without someone immediatley shitting on mainstream music and everything else they never really listened to for more than 10 minutes (which is something that I have sadly only experienced with like 10% of metal fans I've talked to)

Finn gets it, the 2010s was when music took itself a LOT less seriously across all genres; rap/pop punk/edm etc. and thats been missed ngl. Not to mention, it was the decade where a lot of genres had all sorts of innovations and sub genres created arguably more than any other decade before it AND was the decade that started what we’re used to now where there are truly no dead genres since the internet allowed this to happen.

😂 The 2010s felt like when musicians started to give up on making music, and it has been a downward spiral ever since. It just felt like musicians would take a previous genre and make them more melodic, be it pop-punk, emo, hard core etc. and then polish it up with cleaner production, pro tools, ready for mainstream consumption. But at least they got recognition by playing shows, as opposed to guitarists these days that are just "content creators"... Still, there was just so much garbage in the 2010s.

2010’s is the best decade for hip hop by MILES. It is just immeasurably far ahead of all the others.
R&B was as good as it’s been since probably the 1960’s, especially later on in the decade. It embraced technology & it did wonders for the genre.
Edm & dance was strong. They finally realized that they didn’t just have to cater to Europeans anymore.
Rock and alternative had its moments for sure. Pop was decent. Florida State Line and all their friends were a major liability though, sorry!
Overall, yeah might be a true statement about the 2010’s being the best, now that we’ve had a few years to digest everything that happened.

If there was an ‘07-‘17 decade for emo, 🦀 core, scene, easy core, pop punk, metalcore, that would be the dream 10 year span!
Anyone remember 2014 people holding signs above their head like in The Ghost Inside dear youth video?

I was not expecting you to include Dillon Francis in this video! Get Low is such a fantastic song, and he just makes great tech house bangers. You're right, sometimes you just need to listen to something fun that makes you feel cool.
I'd actually really love to see you do a whole video on future bass / metal step artists like Sullivan King, Kayzo, PhaseOne, HVDES' newer stuff, Mazare, and Illennium doing a collab with Spiritbox. That side of EDM has been been incorporating a lot of hardcore elements, and it's really gaining popularity.
That's actually one of the biggest things that appeals to me about EDM, you can go to a festival and hear both bro-y house music and shit you can headbang to.

I grew up during the 2010s and I disagree. 90s were best, because of nu metal. I hope 20s will see the nu wave of nu metal.
