Sublime is such a heavily underrated band. They drew from so many different styles- punk, reggae, psychedelic rock, hip-hop. They could sing about the pain of addiction, or the joy of surfing... Or they could sing about the cops and start a motherfu*king riot lol.

I listened to Start Today for the first time back in the summer after Finn talked about it in a previous video, and its been on repeat on my spotify and quickly became one of my favorite albums. The title track and "first failure" really spoke to me. As someone who's struggled with procrastination and a lot of negative self-talk since I was really young, those two songs in particular, especially first failure, really hit home to me. Especially when I think back on some of my best achievements throughout my life, they came after a lot of failure and persevering and not giving up after messing up once. Even now, when I mess up on something I can hear those songs playing in the back of my head sometimes lol and it reminds me that I'm not a failure just cause I messed up on one thing.

100% agree about Sublime!!! Happy ska and raggae music with dark, dark, dark, lyrics about addiction and self-loathing, about how self-loathing often leads to addiction. Bradley's voice is amazing and he's under-recognized as a great singer with a super emotional delivery. The songs "Garden Grove" and "Pawn Shop" will nearly make you cry once you get what he's really singing about.

Something that is underrated or unacknowledged about peep is his homophonic rhyming. It’s almost like broadway musicals, or, as much as I hate to compare them, Eminem. It made his songs really flow and feel like he was speaking to you while also singing/rapping. It’s one of the things that separates a lot of great lyricists (like Eminem or the legendary playwright Stephen Sondheim) from good ones.
“Let me go, I’m spending time
not doing fine but I’m doing fine”
This is an example of something that should only rhyme once, but the way he delivers it makes it sound like he’s rhyming nearly every other word. Truly a special talent indeed, and gone way too soon. It really felt like he was only getting better as his career went on.

Picking 80's HC or Punk is the hipster equivalent of picking a Dadrock album like Master of Reality or Zeppelin 2.

For 77' punk The Dead boys " young loud and snotty " , were virthed out of rock bands and solidified into a total kickass band. I wish they been able to tour with ACDC.
    And AIC, " dirt", duh😊

I cheat on my favorite sublime album as you did on black flag. Mine is Gold as it is all their albums in one and there's not one song on any of them that sucks.

There will never be enough, Brad passed so early while the fire was starting to roar. We’ll always miss the album that could have been later… I would love to have that same RHCP feel in 2022 with sublime.

Sublime will always have a special place in my heart because I've spent a lot of time in Long Beach. It makes me proud that such an awesome band came from my area. Brad had such a distinct and pleasing voice. I wish he got to live a longer life

COWYS is a great album but I don’t think it’s anywhere near as good as some of his earlier tapes, Hellboy, crybaby and especially lil peep part one all mop the floor with COWYS.

Damn Finn, got me cryin' at 10 o'clock in the morning. Lmao. For real though, this is really an awesome fuckin' video. Hearing your words about Lil Peep and particularly Bradley and 'Bad Fish', I broke down man. I know that pain and struggle too goddamn well and I know that you do too. And you really are a sweet dude, I can tell that from being in many of your streams. Had some great, meaningful shit in those chats and all of us talking to you. That shit means a lot to me. The things you've shared and spoken on. Your content goes far beyond the vids on the main, and people should really go be a part of one of your streams sometime and really get a better sense of what you're about and what you've got to say. All that while also being funny and having a good time too. You're a talented guy and I appreciate you and your content and words have helped me and it means something to me. I'm rambling, sorry. Lol. Hope you have an excellent day my guy. 🤙🖤
