I’m trying to push back emails and texts to the last hour or so of my day and not expend that vital morning energy on things other than writing. 2020 was hell, but it taught me not to engage in other business before writing-whenever possible! Great video, BTW...liking the vibe you’re creating here :)
That is such a good idea. My issue is I get stressed about the number of emails and immediately start them in the morning, then look up and realize it's 2 p.m. and I haven't done any editing for the day, lol. Perhaps I need to try a week of just doing evening emails XD So glad you're enjoying the vlog style!
@@NataliaLeigh My editing as a business is pretty sporadic. Not really wanting that full time right now. But my other work at home, while not writing, is still fan based. And those who have contacted me through social media will text to start conversations at odd times that I don’t have all day to engage in. So evening works much better because they’re thinking about having dinner and/or watching their favorite programs :)
I have to say I totally dig the direction of the vlog. I’d like to start one myself eventually. I’ll get there I guess. Fun fact: my Tatum plays Animal crossing a the time 😂 so I can relate!
I'm so happy to hear that! I've been experimenting with vlog styles and am having so much fun. And Animal Crossing is such a relaxing way to unwind at the end of the day. Love it!
great video :) What degree do you need to study to become a copy editor? And how does the freelance work go, do you have to contact/solicit publishing houses, present a CV and your work? How do you manage financially?
Would you say having a bachelor's is necessary for freelance copyediting? I can't comfortably afford to go to college at this time, but I can afford to take the ACES or EFA classes for copyediting. Would you recommend doing college first and copyediting classes/certifications later, like you did, or would you say someone can find success in freelance copyediting with just a certification?
Ten o'clock to five thirty is a very long day? What time was wake up!? Sitting in your bed scrolling is not included in a days work. I do not deny the mental stress of having to reply to emails and having to read over and edit. But to someone who has worked 15 and 24 plus hour days in the military, this is a very easy day.

Glad your mom’s surgery went smooth, good luck with all the work 💪🏼 you got this !!!
Thank you, Aaron! I'm thankful as well!
I was dying when Mew rubbed against the camera. 😻💗😻 my heart!!
She's so darn cute! I love her so much! XD
You've made me thankful that my inbox for my clients is usually only between 20-30 emails. Loved this video!
Even 20-30 can take hours to respond to! It's crazy how my inbox has become a scary place, lol
I'm enjoying the design process with you guys so far - looking forward to seeing the final results. :)
Thanks, Glen! It's been great collaborating with you!
So much personality shining through. Vlog queen 👑
Haha, this gave me the biggest smile. So glad you enjoy my vlogs!
My cat sits on my chest when I'm trying to write.
Perfect break video between my writing sprints today, you are always so uplifting 🙏
I do the same thing! Vlogs really help inspire me to keep working :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Your vlogs are honestly so calming, I love them so much! 🧡🧡
I'm so glad! I love filming them, so it makes me happy to know someone enjoys them :)
I adore Mew.🥰😻
I love when you make these videos.
I'm so glad you enjoy them! I love putting them together, so it's nice other people like them as well lol
Mew is a cute but chaotic coworker 😂

You need an email assistant Hehe, it's definitely a job in itself lol:D
Right?! Mondays have become so intimidating because I'm scared to open the inbox and see how many emails are waiting for me, lol
“Mew, can you not?”
Mew- I could...but where’s the fun in that?
Mew cares not about my struggles, lol!
Natalia, you look so beautiful in that thumbnail 💗 love those colors on you!
Thank you so much, Cassie!
Where did you get the coffee girl and filming girl stickers you used for your bullet journal? They're so cute!
Aren't they adorable? I got them off Etsy. Here's a link to the shop: www.etsy.com/shop/PrintPetticoatBandit

Do you use an app or a program for your invoicing? I've just started my own editing business and I'd love any recommendations you might have.
Just finished my first draft. Once the betas get their feedback to me and I edit it, I'm hoping to send it to you for a manuscript critique.
That would be awesome! I'm booking late into 2021 currently, so it'd be great to get you scheduled early :)
@@NataliaLeigh Yea. I'm definitely going to do that soon.
