Saw this at the movies and almost the entire audience in the packed theatre yelled in unison, "MURPHY", just before Robocop said it; I'll never forget it! It was really awesome!
This is the PERFECT ending to a perfect film. I could not fathom how, in the remake, they had Murphy retain his identity. That was the entire triumph of the film. That, combined with its massively toned down violence made it forgettable trash.
The way he celebrated his victory was simple but happy for a tragic person, he replied to an employee for his name and with smile on face with his head held high
It's so obvious that the original intention of this scene is that he regained his personality but they just shit on it in the sequels for the sake of the robotic android aesthetic, ughhhhh, so tragic man.
This ending is foreshadowed when he tells Emil “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me”. Of course in the scene “dead or alive” is referring to Emil, but in the course of the movie the question is is Murphy dead or alive? The final line answers that question and it rules
He gets his humanity back by saying Murphy. Then smiling.
best script ever written 10/10

wish I could see it in theater
You're old.
I was only 4 when my parents took me to see this in theaters
That gives me goosebumps
So You GOT IT in 1987? Respect!
A good soul is indestructible
A tear comes to my eye every time I see this scene.
Same
Indeed
This is the PERFECT ending to a perfect film.

Now That's what I call an Ending!
The perfect ending doesn’t exis-
The way he celebrated his victory was simple but happy for a tragic person, he replied to an employee for his name and with smile on face with his head held high
The smile he gives at the end is like him saying "I may be human no more, but the spirit is still there."
If there's a single movie that had such a fundamental role in defining my tastes and persona for decades, it's Robocop.
Well put. Watching the American Ninja movies also affected me quite so hehe. And Rambo... and Predator... XD
@@thevillageyid both also timeless 80s classics. They just cant make fun and unique brands like rambo and predator anymore.
@@stygianhoplite aye.. different times I guess. Maybe we'll get a resurgence of those kinds of flicks, but you can't fully replicate that era.
The most heartwarming scene in cinematic history.
Murphy... :) Love that scene.
It's so obvious that the original intention of this scene is that he regained his personality but they just shit on it in the sequels for the sake of the robotic android aesthetic, ughhhhh, so tragic man.
Don't worry; those don't count ;D
There is no way that Murphy would have ever allowed those OCP thugs to put that helmet over his eyes ever again. But then the sequels happened.
That smile is epic.
I'd buy that for a dollar!
The second I heard Murphy I almost cried.
One of the best movies EVER made.
These kids today don't know. Your Iron Man ain't got nothing on mine.
Hell yeah!
Well said good sir!
Even the remake looks like unfinished Iron Man
Robocop was Titanium
I’m so glad they didn’t make sequels after this perfect ending.
Only one dislike.
“Dead or alive...you’re coming with me.”
That smile
He still got his soul... 0:12
Now that's an ending I'd buy for a dollar!
there have been more complicated ending, more "deep" endings, but this is the BEST ending.
boss: nice shooting son, what's your name?
Robocop: I'm vengeance
I am vengeance.
I am the night.
I AM BATMAN!
one of the hardest endings ever
This came on TV last night and when he ask what's your name?? Both of my son's yells Murphy and they're only 11, and 9
I needed a browser plugin to discover that three people wouldn't buy this for a dollar. Only three though.
One of the greatest movie endings of all time. 🎉❤ 🤖
Best ending ever !!!!!!!!!
who disliked this? Must be a Jones family member 😂
It was Dick Jones himself.
😂😂😂😂😂
This guy is a badass😃
Incredible film
"Nice shooting son, what's your name?" "RONNIE PICKERING"
“Who”
Nice shooting,son. What's your name?
MURPHY
Patrick star
@@eh1600 Who?
LEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYY!!! JENKINNNNNNNSSSSS!!!
Murphy... :)
An villain's nice answer to a dead cop
Huh? It's a question! ..and grow up :-/
The one downvote was from Dick Jones
This ending scene... THIS is it!!!
Love it so much❤
Mmmm, there's a glitch, it should respond "Robocop OCP"
This ending is foreshadowed when he tells Emil “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me”. Of course in the scene “dead or alive” is referring to Emil, but in the course of the movie the question is is Murphy dead or alive? The final line answers that question and it rules
Ahh they don't make them like that anymore
Love this one to Todd.
Murphy lives, well 10% 😊
Love this damn movie. 30+ cheesy as hell, Bad stop motion but still ends up being good
I'm Curien...
Пусть Арнольд покурит в сторонке
The ending is not that happy as it seems. Despite him gaining his humanity back he can no longer back to his normal life
Yeah it sucks but he can at least do the job he wanted
Murphy
best scene in the movie
We learn 2 things, the old fella finds his shooting skills "nice" and that his name is indeed Murphy.
"Rittenhouse."
