The B1G has for decades been basically a 2-team conference, OSU and Michigan. Every now and then, another team stuffed with seniors and an NFL QB candidate get its foot in the door and either makes a good championship run or gets really close to it, but returns to the flock of also-rans the next year. I think fans are waiting to see where all the former PAC teams will fit into the B1G pecking order. Losing to Indiana in a rout, and this performance, would appear to put UCLA somewhere better than Northwestern but worse than Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, Maryland, and maybe Rutgers. Oregon looks ready to make the B1G a three-team league. Washington might be another Penn State. USC is good, but I'll withhold judgment until they've played some bad weather road games in late October and November. It's probably too early to really arrive at any conclusions, but fun to speculate.

Considering that Oregon was at least a 21 point favorite coming into this game, UCLA played well enough to hang this long with Oregon. Make no mistake about it, Oregon is much further along than where the Bruins are. Regardless who would be the coach at the moment, the way our program was left after the last regime it would’ve been an uphill climb for any new coach going into a tougher league in Year 1. I truly wish the best for CoachFos with this program but whether it’s him or someone else, this program will be legit in the B1G at some point in the future. I knew going in this would be a transition for this program, considering the circumstances they dealt with coming in. Just keep showing up and fighting every week, Bruins.

Offense got weirdly out of rhythm after that Pick6. Gabriel is decent, but he is no Bo Nix. Stein seems to struggle a bit, too. Defense played well.
