That has be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. It would take me at least an hour to change the battery in my Vespa. It will never happen. I love you Mitch. I can tell you are a talented mechanic and a caring person. Best of luck.
Very helpful video! Note: the clock in my 2009 Fly 150 used a GP386 battery. (The 357 fit, but was too tall so I couldn’t screw on the back battery cover.)
Love your videos, thanks Mitch. I changed my clock battery today on my Piaggio Fly 150 ie. Quick question though, why did you open up the instrument panel when you can actually get to the battery just from the back? This is how i changed my battery. Maybe my model is slightly different? Cheers.
Yeah they are set up so you can change it from the back of the instrument panel BUT, there is no way my battery would come out without taking out the clock assembly and levering the battery out. So the way Mitch did it is the best way.
Yep. Got at the battery on the missus Fly through the hole in the back of the instrument panel. Unscrew the little cap and pried the battery out with a tiny flat blade screwdriver.
I need your help. I just bought a 2010 Fly 150. The turn signals don't work. The right one will come on after a delay of around 10 seconds. Where is the controller if that is the problem and where do I find one. Love your videos.
At 1:22, you can see the round hole with the soft-plastic battery seal cover on the back of the cockpit. (Top right of the red connectors) If you just pull the seal out, you can replace the battery from that position without the need for the rest of the steps in this video. I replaced mine last week through that opening just to learn that the module is burnt-out and i need to replace the hole part.
1:28, my Fly 150 allows you to change the battery from the back. I wouldn’t want to open the instrument panel if I didn’t have to. It’s a bit tricky from the back but it works.
Most bikes/scooters with a time clock fitted as standard uses the main battery for power rather than having its own little battery. What a cheap and nasty idea - Piaggio clearly trying to cut corners and save a few bob. but do love Mitch's passion, enthusiasm and patience.
I see your speedometer is (primarily) marked in MPH. My 2014 Piaggio Fly 150-3V is primarily marked in KPH and it's hard to read. Is yours an overlay? If so, where did you get it?
I'm in California, but I bought it second-hand from someone in Oregon, where I believe it was first sold. You have more experience with this than I do...do you think I could get an MPH speedo scale from Piaggio as a replacement part without buying the whole speedometer? @@MitchsScooterStuff
Mitch you are my kind oh guy i love scooters al my life i am 72 tried motorcycles but scooters are my thing I had some Vespas and Piaggio and alwways couldn’t understand why it is such a pain in the ass to replace something so simple like having clock working on scooters battery now i ride on yamaha tricity and love every second
Hi just bought a yamaha Zuma 2003 two stroke, Was wondering what mods i could do to make it faster?, I heard from many that I should get and exhaust first, then if I do a big bore kit i should get a new carburetor . Is it possible to only get an exhause or only get an big bore? without harming the scooter?
V386 battery on mine Fly50 T2 - 2008 model , not V357... And the battery is possible to change without dismantling the dash, its a rubber cap behind the clock.
Mine was labelled GP186 (2008 Fly50 T4) - bit of a pain to get all the way there and find you have the wrong battery(AG12 LR43 186 L1142 GP186 G12A G12) Don't know the V#
I think I will modify my one by soldering a wire to the battery compartment and run it to a battery tray with a AAA battery. Should be easy to mount outside the instrument panel somewhere.
I don't even have a scooter and I watch these... I dunno why. :-) You have had that scooter apart so many times you could probably do it in your sleep. And man... why does it have to be so much trouble to replace a battery? That's crazy! And last... the graphics in the speedometer/tach... man... we could design new graphics, print them... and make it custom. (just saying... I think of strange stuff huh?)
I have a 2003 Piaggio LT50. Trying to replace the headlight. Do you have any videos for that? Tried to remove all the screws that i can but there seems to be something that I am missing. Recently cleaned carb, replaced vacuum operated fuel valve etc. So i have some skill for these things but I cant seem to figure this out. Repair shops are too expensive. Please help.
Actually, i figured it out. Your video helped me know how to open the cover. Then there is a tab i had to push on followed by twisting the bulb anticlockwise while pushing it in. Just explaining as it could be useful to anyone else looking. The left side mirror had a bolt at the bottom that i did not recognized immediately which was another problem in the process. Thanks a lot
Hard to tell since I have to set up the camera with tripod to film this video that took longer ... if no filming, I think it will take me maybe 20 minutes with all removal and installation
Thanks, Mitch for the reply, I'm going to go for it. So I'm guessing that those of us with "average" mechanical aptitude will be able to complete this in an hour. :)
Hi Mitch, Your videos are great and clear. Just a pity that you never do it with the scooter that is useful to me. Replacing the battery of the clock with a Piaggio New Fly, does that work the same way as with the older Fly that you showed, or do you have to take less away?
0h, Danke ein Deutscher😍. Finde die videos sind didaktisch super gemacht. Sodas ich mich trauen würde, an meinem Fly rumzuschrauben. Bin leider Linkshänder und total unbegabt.
It's just too crazy for words that you have to demolish your entire dashboard to replace a clock battery. just connect something like that to the main battery, done. I suspect it's not much different with the New Fly. I also see it with Italian-made machines, they make beautiful things, but they forget that you have to get an easy one afterwards to replace something.
Do you have any scooter what have colorlight and it start twink when somebody call for you? (of course only when you have phone in your pocket!! :D) My Solifer SFR have it and it's useful :) (try understand because i am finnish)

Thank you! You are a real savior! no one else has tutorials for the Fly
Anytime 😄🤙🏼

357 battery is too thick for my 2007. ordered 386, like the one you removed.

ill just rebuild the engine while im at it
J Gurnari youll be finished first with the overhaul!!😂😂

It's original... Sold in USA, are you in USA or other countries?

Thanks pal. I have a Gilera Stalker and I thought the clock was faulty, powered by a scooter battery. I'm going to change the battery right now.
Replacing the calliper seals on my ZRX1100 was easy compared to this. I think I'll leave my clock dead. LOL
Finally got this done. Took me about an hour. I replaced the battery thru the hole in the back. Mine was. 386. Found in on Amazon.

Hey, hmm try eBay and ask local dealership

I have a Piaggio Liberty 150, maybe do you know which type of battery I need? the clock is death.
I think I will modify my one by soldering a wire to the battery compartment and run it to a battery tray with a AAA battery. Should be easy to mount outside the instrument panel somewhere.
Hi! Did you get to do it? I would love to see how it is done :)
this is like unclog the EVERGREEN SHIP from suez canal 😳 pain in the as to a whole new level...
I don't even have a scooter and I watch these... I dunno why. :-)

Hi Mitch! Love your videos, thanks for sharing. Is ´this done the same way on a Piaggio Liberty of 2012?
❤ thx very much for the video. I was about to buy a new cluster. I didn't know they have batery.
Glad I could help!! 😄
How can I remove from my piaggio fly 50cc 4T the speed limiter? The bike has top speed 50km/h
Super helpful channel as a whole, but dang I don’t need that clock that bad lol
Thanks! Yeah a lot of work just for this thing... bad design haha
Mitch, do you know if the needles on the Speedometer can be replaces. My windshield fried my 2 needles. (techincally i did)
aint nobody got time for that, no pun intended

Bummer I dont have any videos on LT50 :( Maybe there are some tabs that was stuck on? or hidden screws from inside?

Uhm..i just replaced my battery of my fly just unscrew a big plastic screw on the back??? No need for dissamble the whole thing
I need to buy Piagio Fly 125 cc - Clock Battery Replacement and where did to sale ?
Mitch, about, how long did this take you from start to finish?
Cheers,
Hard to tell since I have to set up the camera with tripod to film this video that took longer ... if no filming, I think it will take me maybe 20 minutes with all removal and installation

where is your answer?
Can arows be changed ?
Great vid...
But it's ridiculous all the things we have to dismantle just to replace a 0,35€ battery for the watch.. Really ridiculous.
It worked!
Thank you!
I replaced my battery via the back by taking off a plastic cover, it’s much quicker than taking apart the entire speedo assembly😅
Screw that, I can wear a watch!
Italian engineering can sometimes be so funny
What model is that, and awesome video mic
+MAXWELL LZ 2009, thanks!
My speedometer stop working so do you have a video on that ?!
Angèle Coutant Did you get it working again?
Mine was a LR43/386 battery.
Stick-on dollar store clock it is, then.
I`ve git a 2008 model Fly 50 4T, it requires a battery type GP386. Battery 357 is too high, so the lid of the batterycase doesn`t fit
There's a gray rubber cap on it. It can also be replaced there. You do not have to get rid of that. video: 2:24 sec
Just did this today and can confirm just remove the seal there and pop the battery out. This let's you do it without breaking the seal on the dash
Does anyone know what battery i need for my piaggio fly 2012?
Batterie ist GP 386!!! Die passt genau rein und dann geht der Verschluss auch zu. Video sonst Super!!
Batterie is GP 386!!! Is smaler so you can close with original plastik. Video is top made!

Człowieku baterie wymienia się bez rozbierania licznika - od spodu masz specjalne okienko na śrubokręt,szok wiedzę to Ty masz stary zerową 😅
Healthy track ❤
🙏🏼
can anyone tell me where the fuses r on a aprilla altanic 125 scooter???
I have a 2009 Fly 150 and the battery is not the same. Tried to install it anyway and found that the clock didn't work.
Thank you.

Bit of a hassle...lucky I look at my mobile phone for time before riding off ;)
Ya, for sure!
Nice!
make more clips piaggio MP3? ;)
Thanks
If I were him I would technically throw the clock module in the drain.clock not needed
Please take a new fly for this?
Hi, I don't have one for new fly but this video could help you to get there... th-cam.com/video/_nI-eqnrPSI/w-d-xo.html
Not for million dollars! I better have no clock:)
holy!!
F*** so much effort just to change the battery!!
좋아요 ~~~ 꾹 ^^
And all that for one small battery... 🤔😞
+MrHyho1 yup it sucks!
Stupid clock design !
You gotta be kidding me...
Italians, Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just did one what an idiotic setup.
Holy crap, what an awful design.
