The idea of alternative neck piece for Godzilla to have look straight up is enlightening. I’ve always wanted to have Godzilla do swimming poses and underwater combat and now I wish that if all Godzillas can’t articulate enough then to have an alt neck piece. But alas monsterarts is skipping out on accessories and who knows how consistent hiya toys will include that piece or have that range of articulation.
The 2018 version of Monsterarts Godzilla can easily look all the way up without switching necks. Overall i think it has better articulation. Unfortunately the Hyia Toys version looks just so much more screen accurate.
I don't think its weird at all. 2019 and 2021 are the same godzilla and there was almost no changes to the cgi model between the films besides some updated facial stuff for more complex animations. Using the *fixed* model to further the toy line makes perfect sense.
@@ISkinFlamingos Thats why they are using the 2019 sculpt and rereleasing it as the updated 2021. Since the movies use the same model and the new 2019 is more accurate to it.

They need to make all the monsterverse titans. Even for the ones in monarch legacy of monsters, and Godzilla, kong: the new empire. These figures are incredible!
Maybe what happened was that they didn’t have the redone GVK sculpt ready yet, so for this guy they used the KOTM sculpt which already had the improvements since their first Godzilla release.

@@haramberoth117 using same models to movies are different to selling same sculpts to different variations of a character. Think of it like this, 1st Godzilla vs. Kong sculpt is good, he is buff and much more intimidating. Then we got the King of The Monsters one, cool, they somehow enhanced the look of the Monsterverse Godzilla but in exchange of lessened range of movement (Which is the opposite of the 1st Godzilla vs Kong mold) . So of course if we use common sense, Burning Godzilla and Heat Ray 2019 in SDCC Godzilla should use the same mold as Hiya Godzilla 2019 (Because it is 2019 Godzilla). HOWEVER, Hiya has already made a unique sculpt for 2021 before. If Hiya is about to release the updated Godzilla vs. Kong only to be a repaint of Godzilla 2019, then it is pointless! Why? Because products should differ and should give us a sweet deal. If they only repainted the updated 2021, then it is pointless to buy the figure. As we already have the 2019 one. We know Heat Ray Godzilla and Burning Godzilla are the same mold of 2019. Why did people buy them? Because each figure offers unique things the original mold didn't have. Unique paint for both Heat Ray and Burning in that case, also Heat Ray having acceptable accessories. But if we were to get a complete duplicate of Godzilla 2019 with the same price and has no accessories... Which is literally the updated Godzilla vs. Kong, then why should people buy that if the only change is a minimal paint? Hope you get my point, products should offer people unique experiences. Whether it be a variation of the same character. That's marketing, improving a product and not duplicating it. Updated Godzilla vs. Kong figure looks more like an Updated Godzilla King of the Monsters figure.
Actually they did not redo the sculpt of the GvK one. It's a complete repaint of 2019 which is a bit of a disappointment. They should've improved the old 2021 like giving the neck pieces and keeping the huge head and popped out arms.
