    Hi, Michael. Thank you for such a wonderful video. What happens if we enquiry "who is thinking these thoughts?", for instance, and we just get the ego as the owner of those thoughts? Doesn't that make us more self-centered, obsessive, neurotic? Or is it the opposite? By focusing on who we are, we realise "we", as ego, are nowhere to be found, and so the ego dissolves? Thank you!

      +palomaetienne Though Bhagavan advised us to try to see our ego (the one who thinks and experiences all thoughts), he explained that we will never actually be able to see it, because if we look for it sufficiently keenly it will disappear, as he teaches us in verse 25 of Uḷḷadu Nāṟpadu.
      That is, this ego seems to exist only when we are aware of other things, so if we try to be aware of ourself alone, this ego will dissolve and disappear, because we will see that what we actually are is pure and infinite self-awareness (just as an illusory snake would disappear if we look at it carefully and see that it is only a rope)

    Isn’t the problem, we consider the body to be a thing that it has never been? Isn’t ego the awareness that says I am an individual life force, having experiences in the body whilst using my mind to participate in the physical world.

    The ego, the false self, is a confusion, a mixture of the Self and "foreign adjuncts". The Self attaches itself to forms/objects that are other than Itself, according to Ramana/James. How can the self-effulgent light get darkened and veiled by shadows which ultimately derive their 'reality' from the one reality?

    • @SriRamanaTeachings
      @SriRamanaTeachings  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ***** According to Sri Ramana 'how?' is the wrong question to ask in this context, because it assumes that the self-effulgent light (our actual self) has actually been darkened or veiled by the shadow that appears as our ego, which is not the case.
      What we need to investigate is what it is that now seems to be this ego (in other words, who or what am I), and if we do so by trying to be aware of ourself alone, we will sooner or later experience ourself as we really are, whereupon we will find that we have always been that and have therefore never been a shadow or ego.
      In other words, by investigating ourself we will dissolve the illusion that we are or ever have been this ego, so the question how we seemed to be this ego will then become irrelevant and meaningless, like the question how a son was born to a barren woman.

    Había un hombre que ni los que le saludaban le veían, él sabía de eso, pero no podía contarlo ni darlo, porque nadie le preguntaba, algo que no se ve, no se puede preguntar,… excepto si lo crees
    La Trampa ha sido para todo el mundo consentida, … ayudada, y aplaudida
    La gente ha buscado la curación, a través de máquinas, profesionales, medicamentos, terapias, masajes, corrientes, infiltraciones, …
    Pagan a dos seguros para exigir esto, incluso hay varios precios al respecto con ventajas, recurren y corren en todas partes, pero las enfermedades crecían, los pinchan, los recetan, los visitan, pero no los curan, y ellos sigan. xen a todas con un puñado de papeles en las manos, con gritos, con préstamos y con prisas constanos, y utilizan la mente…
    como única devoción, … o documento

    If you can manage to keep the awareness focused on what Michael is saying here, despite all the myriad distractions brought about thanks to the horrible audio quality you will surely awaken to the true Self
