Benzinger CHOPTANK | From Pforzheim to Baltimore

Many years ago, our watchmakers were asked to restore a rare piece of horological history from 1530. Philipp Melanchthon was an infamous German philosopher who greatly influenced the modern schooling system with his humanist ideals. His spherical timepiece was known as a “Nuremberg Egg” with its decorative and pendant-like presence. Once we restored the watch, our watchmakers decided to faithfully commemorate it with several inspired creations in the following years. Celebrating the experimentation of shape in horology.
