I paid $5500 to go to nail school for 5 months until October 2020 and I have learned MORE from Young Nails than from my nail tech class. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Wish I lived near you so I could have enrolled in your school instead.
OBVIOUSLY 😂IN YOUR CONTRACT IT STATES YOU WILL LEARN THE BASICS 😂 AND THE TRAINING JUST TO GET A MANICURING LICENSE 😂😂 MAINLY THEY WILL TRAIN U TO PASS THE STATEBOARD EXAM 😂
My problem is that I tend to be such a perfectionist when it comes to the cuticle edge.....I really need to work on this! I have switched from using tips to using forms and I LOVE IT! My nails underneath feel so good.....they feel really natural....when I wore tips my fingernails actually hurt, but now that I have a set on and I used forms, I am not experiencing that pain at all. I am so thankful to you Greg, for being such a great teacher and not only explaining but showing how it's done. I'm a visual learner so it helps tremendously to see how it is actually done. Thanks Greg!
Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge with the public, PARTICULARLY during the pandemic! Many of us still wanted beautiful nails, many of us may even use doing our nails & nail art as a way to cope, & I’m so grateful for the wonderful teachers like you, who are so generous with that knowledge! I love YN Products too!
When I was 21 I took cosmetology class to learn how to do nails, and I used to do acrylics for myself and for my grandmother I did not have any experience at all. Our nails were extremely messy, but I was learning. I think it’s a perfect idea. Spending money every single month. I want to learn how to do that. In 2020 during Covid, I learn how to do regular gel nails. Every month I do my grandmother‘s manicure in gel. I do my own gel pedicure just to save money, and spend $30 every month for my refills and gel manicure.
Oh my god I am so thankful I have found your channel. I've been trying to do my own acrylics for years now but no matter how many tutorials I watch, I just can't seem to get the hang of filling in my nails. I was going to go to a salon and get them filled but instead followed this video and my nails look so good!! I cannot thank you enough Greg!
I just want to say thank you for your help! I was able to do my own back fill I wish I could show you a picture it’s only my second time trying but because of the way you taught I was able to do it! ❤️
When you pulled the acrylic forward on the left side there was a small gap between the acrylic & sidewall. After you were done filing the gap was gone. I have this problem almost every time I do a fill. But after I file the gap is still there. How do you make it look blended when there was no acrylic applied in that small gap?
I agree. "in the real world" once this grows out, wouldn't it cause problems. I have crazy cuticle clients and I struggle with blending and trying to make sure there's enough coverage and strength.
That's why it is important to have protein bond prior to your gel top coat because the gel can smooth in any missing spots leaving a flush finish. It is better to be shy of the cuticle/side walls than in contact because contact will guarantee lifting issues. The gel top coat can fill in any gaps
Thank you for your indepth tutorials. I have a greater understanding of acrylic placement and have began to love acrylic more than gel. I just started using yn.. speed powder and love how it stays where you place it. Thank you again. I would love to take a class with you guys . Keep up the awesome lessons. 👌🙏
Hi, my full set looks nice but my refill/infill did not look great so thank u for this video I will try this technique on my refill/infill next time. 🥰😊
Before I finish watching, just want to ask & share , so one of my acrylics broke off and I just reshaped my nails & I cheated , I used a tip with clear dip for foundation until my fresh acrylic comes. I’m not professional so, I’d like to know if I have to remove all of the dip and start w the tip and acrylic? Or can I keep the dip tip thing and add the apex on top of the “fake it til I make it “ mail?

If you didn’t add any gel polish on top you would just prep the nail by remove if the shine with a 150 grit sanding band, cleanse with swipe, apply a coat of protein bond and then fill the nail with the same color acrylic.
Thank you. I have really thin nails and i bought myself a kit. To fill my nails in myself. I dont like paying $50 a month on nails when im a guy and just want my nails to look nice and natural.

It depends on some different factors. We have 3 types of powders that have different setting speeds. Warm temperatures also makes acrylic dry more quickly. You know it's set when you tap the back of your brush on the nails and you can hear a clicking sound.
A ledge can occur when the acrylic is not smooth to the surface of your natural nail. Being flush to the natural nail is just a way of saying smooth, by a smooth application as shown here, and refining the shape when file finishing.
How to do refill for pinched nails? If there’s grow “down at the end of the nail (tip). The correction bothers me. Some always remove nails and renew but is there another way ?
If you are filling a stiletto or coffin shaped nail that is tightly pinched, as it grows out, that pinch will grow out as well. The only way to maintain that tight pinch is after a few fills, clip off the free edge and re-sculpt and re-pinch the extension. Here's a great video to show you how and why you need to do this. th-cam.com/video/ygqaHJapKco/w-d-xo.html
Do anyone know if they have a video that shows the nail bits and what each of them are used for but what are the main ones we use? UGH he makes this look so easy
Your top coat will still adhere, but the Protein Bond is just added insurance. It will also ensure the nail looks crystal clear and you don't see any filing scratches. So if you don't use the Protein Bond, you will have a smooth finish, but you may still see the slightest filing lines. Cleanse the nail with Swipe as best as you can to avoid seeing them.
Protein bond is a non acid primer.. it doesn’t chemically etch the nail like a traditional primer does. Protein stays sticky.. sticks to the natural nail and then sticks the product. Here is a video on Protein Bond & how to use it: th-cam.com/video/GY8KvVKJlQE/w-d-xo.html

I’m teaching myself how to apply acrylic nails. With that being said,
1) what is a ledge?
2) what does flush with a natural nail mean?
A ledge can occur when the acrylic is not smooth to the surface of your natural nail. Being flush to the natural nail is just a way of saying smooth, by a smooth application as shown here, and refining the shape when file finishing.
YoungNailsInc Oh ok I understand now. Meaning the ledge = what you could pick at like stated in the video. Thank you, I understand both now.

I have a question what if I don’t have protein to put on after filling it is there anything else I can do

So if you don't use the Protein Bond, you will have a smooth finish, but you may still see the slightest filing lines. Cleanse the nail with Swipe as best as you can to avoid seeing them.
Love your educational videos; I always learn something!
PS: This would be a great video to do using gel!
For sure, more videos coming daily
How do you get the acrylic off of your brush?
Wiping your brush after each contact and cleaning with monomer
YoungNailsInc thank you! That really helped!
Do you always use the protein bond right before the top coat? Why?
Yes, prevents chipping
You did not use dehydrator nor primer?
Swipe is our dehydrator/cleanser and protein bond is our non-acid primer/bonder.
when is the acrylic trial kit going to get back in stock? I’ve been waiting 😣
ASAP working hard to replenish everything
Why do you place protein bond before top coat?
It helps prevent chipping/peeling. You can also apply protein bond just like in the video and then apply yout gel polish color and then top coat.
Is protein bond the same as pH bond ?
Protein bond is a non acid primer.. it doesn’t chemically etch the nail like a traditional primer does. Protein stays sticky.. sticks to the natural nail and then sticks the product.
