  • This video is a remake of an old one I made almost 10 years ago.
To make your own pre shave oil is very easy for this basic formulation : 50% Castor oil and 50% Olive Oil (could be Extra Virgin like the one I used on the video or refined). Then add the Essential oil/s of your preference and et voila ! you have made your own pre shave oil.Yes , is that easy and it would improve your shaved.Actually , you can even shave with this formula without any lather , foam or gel , but I recommend you to use it as a pre shave and not as a shave oil.

I have experimented with different oils, I have found the almond oil and avocado oil works best for softening the beard. My recipe uses equal parts castor, olive, almond, and avocado oils, then I add 25 ml per 2 oz bottle of a scented oil. Andy D, castor oil is a thick oil that helps the razor to glide, and overall thicken the oil recipe. I have had success using almond oil or avocado oil by themselves, so if you cannot get castor oil, leave it out. Try instead equal parts olive, avocado, and or almond. Again, avocado oil by itself and almond oil by itself can work very well.

@@afeitadodisfruton , I have tried Jojoba & Argon oils by themselves. The Jojoba was definitely a no-go for me, the Argon I don’t quite remember, so it must’ve just a middle performer for me. Both Almond & Avocado oils worked the best for me by themselves, but a bit thin.

I have tried jojoba oil on the advice of a friend, it worked terrible for me. However almond and avocado performed the best of the dozen oils I purchased at the grocery store.
