I've read somewhere that Polyphony really puts a lot of effort into its depictions of car paint, including simulating clear coat layers. Might explain why GT Sport and GT7 have perhaps the best looking paint of any racing game.
The audio is much wider and more detailed on GT7. The general sound design of GT7 feels more immersive. It has greater attention to detail, the tyre sounds, interior room tone, the jangling of the keys and interior hardware, the wind rushing over the car. GT7 wins for me.
GT7 sounds so plastic dude. Still a little bit like a vacuum cleaner. Not that much like in GT6 but it is still there. Gear shifts sounding also very hard. Anyway its a great game.

GT7 all day. At launch of the game Driveclub for PS4, the graphics and effects were stunning… but: never ever there was a „feeling“ like in gran turismo games. Graphics are not everything, but in case of GT7 there are great graphics and feeling combined. Perfect match!
GT7 really makes F1 2022 look like cartoon and a lot of it is because of the lighting, sky rendering and car model...but, both are great racing games at the end

Yeah, and I hate how the forests and woods don't really feel "thick" and "full" in Codemasters' games, not only in F1 but also in Dirt Rally. I mean you can see all the way back as far as the draw distance will let you, there's a gap between the grass and the trees with no vegetation at all. Someone should tell the Codemasters artists to put some bushes there.

F1 22 sounds pretty realistic but that’s the GTR sound, not the Black Series sound. The Black Series has a flat-plane crankshaft and thus GT7’s sound is accurate.
I was just watching a live test drive of the AMG GT and then came to this vid. Sound on GT7 is spot on to the real thing, I was so surprised to hear the details like a more muffled tone and road noise in the cockpit or exterior where sounds are more open and echo depending on the surroundings. I think PD still needs to work on the differences stress makes on an engine, like going 0-60 at full throttle vs half to 3/4 throttle, but they're so close and have come such a long way (Sport seems to be the start of better sound reproduction). Too bad GT7 is missing many other things that made past iterations great. I really hope Forza 8 lives up to the hype too and forces GT7 to be more flexible with its track options and tuning but next Spring won't come soon enough! F1 2022 in comparison isn't bad at all but just lacking some of those details, it was just more subtle imo. Perfect example is at 2:00 min mark, it goes from cockpit to exterior and the sound is almost identical. You obviously won't find great attention to detail on yearly releases that are more geared toward making money simply off roster changes, let alone the addition of new vehicles to drive that have never been in the series. I mean, it's not like they make any other car game to borrow assets from, that would've been killer for codemasters. Also, not sure where this GT sounds like a vacuum analogy comes from, like someone said it 20 years ago and it stuck, now that's all people can say to describe how they don't approve of GTs sound. YESSS! I love to do 3 laps on Nurburgring and then play replay, sit on the couch with beer and relax while watching it. Without music, just pure sound of engine and echo going around the track,

The depth perception on F1 2022 looks more natural, while GT7 has a more wide angled and far-sighted view. Colours are more vivid on the F1 game but the surrounding background ( trees mostly ) are like a copy of each other. On GT7 there's variety in shapes with the trees.
I think what it comes down too is that Gran Turismo was and is always aiming for the realest experience that translates well through a video game while other games focus more on the power fantasy aspect.

F1 22 got the sound completely wrong, the amg gt black series has a flat plane crank V8 but it sound like the normal amg gt/GTR with the cross plane V8.
might not be a huge thing to note but numerically from the cockpit view of the digital gauge, the gran turismo car has the better top end speed. I wonder if that's due to an aero mechanic physically, or gearing mechanic or the digital gauge in one of the games doesn't numerically compensate for high aero on just the visual side only and not necessarily affecting aero physics at all
We are talking here about two of the best racing graphics companies (Codemasters - F22 and Polyphony Digital - GT7), great graphic comparison, but they are games with very different proposals. Yearbook games like F22 have an audience for this year and Q1/2023 at most. GT7 is long term.
What you smoking ?! Codemasters one of the 2 best ?! What about Slightly Mad Studios who do the Project Cars games ? Project cars 2 is five years old and the graphics on that still blow Codemasters amateur graphics out the water on comparable tracks, and we havent even mentioned the team who write the Forza games.
Keep in mind, you're comparing a game focused on a completely different kind of car with a game made to race cars like the GT. Of course GT7 is going to be better.
Unfortunately, I don't get very good feel through my (admittedly budget) wheel in the F1 game. Gran Turismo feels way better for now. Hopefully F1 22 get some updates for that.

They are both games about racing cars. GT7 has almost a thousand cars. F1 22 has about 20. And yet GT7 still manages to have more detail in each car model too.
It looks real to a lot of people. Mainly the fact that they were laser scanned. And outside f1, there isn't much of an advertisement boards if not none
GT7 also has an actual gyroscope. The attention to detail towards cars is top-notch. PD never misses on that part.

It is quite the opposite. GT7 has less vivid colors because it uses photorealistic shaders instead colorful fake colors.

GT7’s car sound is more realistic because the actual car sounds like a four-cylinder.
F1 2022s tire sounds are exactly like gran turismo 6s tire sounds.
Even though we can say GT7 is like a GT Sport 2.0, it still looks waaayy better than the F1 22

Yeah GT7's FFB is far superior to F1 22 and the other F1 games. It has much more useful detail in comparison. I have the DD Pro.

Both look pretty good to me. Good reflections in F1, you can even see the sidemirror reflected on the body and the window. Not that common actually.

Now we're talking. GT7 is still probably better in that regard. Much more useful and good feel through FFB as well.

Damn, both to really capture what an utter travesty that cars engine sound is in real life, the fact it wheres the AMG badge is heinous xD
F1 22 supercars are just a small feature, in GT7 they are the core of the game, so obviously is going to look much better
They are both games about racing cars. GT7 has almost a thousand cars. F1 22 has about 20. And yet GT7 still manages to have more detail in each car model too.

The gt7 tack lacks texture on the road and the backgrounds are missing a lot of details as well like entire tree lines and advertising boards.
It looks real to a lot of people. Mainly the fact that they were laser scanned. And outside f1, there isn't much of an advertisement boards if not none
