F1 limits testing on cars within 2 or 3 years of the current year to keep teams from using to gain an advantage. The GT guys were able to gather significant data and do a lot of test for the game engine because they had full access to the car because testing with the 2017 car at the time of its addition to the game was allowed under FIA regulations. I’m guessing the same is true for the other games.

In gran turismo 3 They did a impressive job on mimicking the engine sounds from the actual mazda 787B car but i think that maximum high rev sound is unrealistic as i never heard the actual 4 rotary engine go that fast, but the idling sound is exact match Niw in gran turismo 4 they screwed it all up
I was a huge fan of Gran Turismo in the past; but am I the only one to be disturbed by the rigid camera angle behind your car and also the interruption of the sound when shifting gears no matter the car ?
