    Stephen,
    At 65 yrs old , I can attest to being a little wonky. I enjoy your videos & your approach to solving problems. I , too, do all of my own work & can appreciate your way of looking at solutions.
    My best to you & the Mrs.
    I like your hat. I have a similar one , as I live here in BALMY Montana.

    I truly appreciate your craftsmanship and all the information you put out I'm personally working on a 1951 chevy truck and I could use all of your help assembling her back up. When I purchased her off a buddy of mine he had gotten robbed by this shop that took it apart and was missing parts. I've never worked on this year of chevy so it's all new to me

    I just wanted to thank you and tell you how inspiring your videos are to me. I am an extreme novice at fabricating. I have inherited my Grandfathers 1951 3100 series 5 window. I am trying to do much of the work myself. This is my first RestoMod. I am currently working on getting the bed back in shape and your tips are great! Thanks again for taking the time to put these vidz together. Thank your lovely videographer as well. I wish I had half the skills you have. 25th ID here.

      Thank you David for those kind words, I’m glad I’m able to help you with your project. I hope to get busy with my steering pretty soon saving my pennies right now

    I really appreciate your video's. Your workmanship is impeccable....Something I aspire to as I build my '53 AD panel truck. I took your tip and installed a '41 Ford tank and will be attempting to install a similar fuel filler into the side of the truck.

    Hi Steve, I was thinking of doing something similar for my bed mounts. Are yours at the height of the old blocks or did you leave room for an isolator?

    About to do this myself with a longbed bed. Can i ask where you found your long load spreadet bar? Looks like it is at least 36" long? Only ones i see online that long are $700. Plus

      Ray for my mig technique I use what I call a zigzag or Z and I pause at each transition to the next side it’s a very slight pause and then to the other side, sometimes I use a C pattern but mostly the zigzag.

    Hi Steve great work I have an a problem with my bed the whole truck was all in pieces can you show me where the bed support cross beams go there’s one bolt on by the cab and on down the line or is there a sequence for it I’ve got multiple holes on the frame top and bottom thanks for your help.
    What configuration are you using for welding the J or e great welding.

      Thanks for the question Ray, I took some measurements at the back of the frame the farthest hole is going to be your rear bed mounting hole now the next hole forward toward the cab will be 20 inches from that on the frame the next cross sill for the bed does not attach to the frame it just attaches to the bed finally the hole nearest the cab is 72 inches from the rear hole on the frame. They’re only six mounting bolts for the bed. I hope this helps Ray.

    Can you give the dimensions for the blocks that you welded to the frame?

    • @idahofabricator8710
      @idahofabricator8710  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dennis I used 2 inch square tubing 1/8 inch thick and I cut off pieces 2 1/4 inches long for the bed blocks that’s a perfect size it sits right on the frame rail.

    Isn't there supposed to be a cross sill in front of rear end?

    I've been watching, and wondering why you didn't use an s10 frame?
