I wouldn't necessarily call a Warrior a sport quad. It's a bike you bring so the girlfriends can ride too.
Now I'm a two stroke guy but I've always had a soft spot for these warriors. They were great machines. They were no TRX but you didn't have to spend TRX money to get them. Warrior and blaster don't get any love because of the raptor and the banshee but I've had more fun on warriors and blasters than you could imagine. Yamaha always made great machines.
They were good machines for what they were and reliable I've always been a honda man but those old warriors were built tuff
I took my warrior’s seat to an upholstery shop and had them add two inches of foam and re-cover it. Was tired of how you squat so low when riding these things. Feels great now and my knees aren’t sore as hell after riding it.

Little trick with the warrior when shifting to and from reverse. If it don't go right in and out just keep a little pressure on the reverse shifter and let the clutch out slightly and it will pop right in.

@@StupidFastJohn awesome dude. The linkages are weird on the warriors. Unless you can get them adjusted 100% prefect which is damn near impossible on old beaters. It works every time just make sure the reverse lever gets pushed down and fully engages the dogs. Otherwise it could pop into natural unexpectedly. Takes a little to get used to but once you got it you can shift between drive and reverse almost as quick as up shifting lol.

Loved the video, looking at quad to ride because I lost my leg and can’t motocross anymore. You guys are fun to watch, but gave me a good idea about what used quad to find that is inexpensive but rips
I like the looks of the yellow hubs with the white rims. It definitely gives a late 80's early 90's performance quad feel to it. Maybe down the line you could paint the nose shroud/hood a similar shade of yellow to match, possibly find some yellow vinyl and redo the seat as well? Just a thought. :)

Great video and contact I would also like to add you put some good modifications on this bike however let’s be clear about the Yamaha warrior it is notorious for having problems with the boot it connects the carburetor to the actual motor the manifold typically it’s made out of a rubber and hard plastic material with some metalSo once you get to riding this heats up and slowly has a gasket leak you went with the metal titanium manifold which is full proof against this problem you’re making me proud guys

That wobbly shifter is a common problem on warriors/raptors. Just witnessed one break last Saturday on a 86km funduro

Thanks dude shes def a very healthy powerhouse, i am very shocked how responsive and how much torque it makes, 2nd gear wheelies were easier then i expected with the low warrior gearing 👊🤙

when shifting outta reverse you have to release the clutch fully then put it in first
Yeah dudes!!! At the end I was waiting to see if it shifted good and right before the vid ended he popped it in 2nd, and I was like phewww lmao 🤣 may need freeway adjust on the pressure plate maybe? How's it shifting now and did u guys run it through all the gears down the road?

I had a warrior took the linkage off the shifter and just bolted it straight to the transmission it worked fine

Yz250 2 stroke shifter works too replace the shifter to put it directly on the engine insted of the linkage
You can buy a shifter for the warrior to eliminate the linkage. Modquad I think.

You can use a yz125 shifter
Those Kenda Geckos are gonna be okay for the first couple trips, but most people outgrow them quickly. They just don't have the hookup of modern tires. But otherwise, great job guys. Should be a fun machine.
Yeah I think they'll be ok just on a warrior. If u were sand dragging a banshee u wouldn't want those.
Torn a bunch them apart and the shift fork in side ware out from people stumping on them because of lose shifter found worked on them more then road it .

You can get some cheap fabric and make a seat cover to hold ya over until you get a permanent 1
Although not the fastest.. warriors are honeslty some kick ass atvs!! Top end is great, light sport feel with reverse, 6 speed trans, and these things will take a damn beating and keep on going. I rebuilt mine at 5 years of owning and bought it used! It didn’t even need a rebuild. I just did it as a learning curve and she was starting to smoke a bit. Runs amazing and relatively easy to work on!
Mine started blowing white smoke out the exhaust a couple days ago and it had never done this before what do you think that is ? My top end or is it something not as serious

I used to have to turn my warrior off to go from reverse to forward. Not sure why but it was always a pain

I sold my $450r not long ago because my wife is getting in the riding and the 450 with me on it doesn't seem to like the Chug slowly through the woods. I pick up a nice warrior I'm working on now I'm not good at carburetors and nothing but I guess I'll learn. My other one is a 2021 Honda Foreman which she loves now so I had to get me the warrior so we could have trail time together

That's no excuse.. When I was a young teen, I had a 02 warrior. I never had a problem shifting.

how do you really like the zoomzoom carb?
I do like it but theyre not perfect plug and play carbs. On this one you have to modify the throttle cable area. I have a set on the big bore raptor 686 too and it runs pretty stout!

Turn engine off when putting in reverse or nuturealn
There's absolutely no need to do that. When shifting in and our of reverse just keep some pressure on the reverse shifter and let the clutch out a bit and it will pop right in. If forward warriors can be tricky trying to get in neutral especially when they are warm.
@@roguepowersports3576 I’ve come to the point that when it’s warm I will hold my clutch, get off the quad and with my right hand lift it into neutral. I look dumb doing it but I look even dumber when I sit there trying six or seven times to foot f*** it into neutral.

I've never understood why people tried painting plastic ATV fenders yeah it looks good until you really start riding it and then it makes it look horrible I don't know what's under that paint but stuff scratches and fading is very easy to fix on plastic but paint does not look good for very long

We ditched the box for an open filter with outerwears cover because we didnt have the right intake tube
