The stage's gimmick barely did anything to affect the gameplay. The boss himself uses his whip-like vines in such a linear way. His desperation move wastes time & is easy to avoid. His weapon is vastly overshadowed, yet makes the final bosses last phase less of a boring drag. X3 - Neon Tiger had a poor stage theme (on the snes version), a inferior buster-like weapon, &, He wasn't threatening. This all culminated in a maverick that felt more like a mini-boss instead of a stage boss. X3 - Blizzard Buffalo was just so primitive & could be defeated by constant jumping or by the typical way.
