I see you Chelsea. Thank you for making this film and sharing your story. My attacks started in 2019 from panic attacks related to PTSD from a car accident. Now these episodes are happening multiple times a day, like you . I found so much hope in your story and appreciate you beyond words.

I had it since I was 3 years old and I live in really cold country . I am only 13 and I have been dealing with for as long as I can remember . Living in a cold country that has a lot of snow but you cant play with it , is upset especially when kids make fun of the way your fingers look when swollen .

chika diana ogbonna I am 14 and I have had it for as long as I can remember. I try not to let it affect me and I push threw it. I have it in my hands, feet and sometimes my lips. I am not on any medications and I hope I will never need any for it. My dad has it but it has gotten better for him as he has gotten older, I hope my gets better like him.
I love going to the beach. If I go swimming at the beach even if it’s summer and I am wearing a wetsuit I still get attacks, I go home and have a shower after but I have to have long showers because for the first 3 - 5 minutes depending on how bad my attack is, I can’t feel the water because my whole body is numb. Once I can feel the water with my body my hands and feet take ages to not be numb.
For me having a shower helps with attacks but the problem is that it is so painful to turn on and off the taps.

I usually take pain relief. I'm an out-patient in the hospital and they try to help and understand, right now because of quarantine, I just have to keep warm. Chelsea I am 62 and have had Raynaulds since i was 11 but they thought it was gout. My daughter started with it when she was 11 too and basically doesnt go out of the house. She is un employable but can not get any help with money to live on. She is trying to do a business from home using her talents as an digital artist. She went through wanting to cut her feet off depression and wanting to die. she hasnt had much of a teenage life and was home schooled. she is in fear of cold weather wind or even the freezer. Don;t despair you are not alone. if she takes meds it sends her loopy and she can not function normally.

Raynauds is new for me since November 2020. Began with a low grade temp for two weeks the trip to Several doctors followed. Several health issues now. Just healed from two digital finger ulcers. Taking HALF of 2.5mg (1.25mg) BP med. to keep blood flowing easily to fingers. I take half because any higher dose the meds drop my BP. Summer has also helped the Raynauds to only appear during contact with extreme cold. I'm having a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy this morning due to bowel and swallowing issues. May possibly have celiac disease also. Best wishes to all and stay HOPEFUL 💕

Raynauds is unpredictable! I didn't know much about it but I think people are more aware nowadays. Extreme sensitivity to cold weather , white finger tips turning red then blue or , not returning back to normal colour on return inside is not normal! You can also have blue lips or a bright red face when outside in the cold simply due to blood flow within your body! This is a very informative video ! I hope more treatments can be found in the future to ease the pain endured by so many people in future years! 😊🤔

Try classic conditioning. It worked for me. I got naked, openened the window, put my hands in very warm water.
I breathed hot air to my fingers & breathed relaxation to my hands. Did this many times. My mind & fingers got the message. Haven’t had a recurrence in sooo long.
No shit! It worked. I thought it was a Stupid idea at 1st. I tried in desperation. It also worked for my father. Free to try it & better than medicine
    Good luck. Feel better

Nobody explains how Raynalds starts. Is it itching? Is it numbness? Or does your fingers just go white and blue only?

    • @WeAreSRUK
      @WeAreSRUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi, a Raynaud's attack can vary from person to person. Usually there is either a colour change (to white or blue, then red when the attack dissipates) or numbness, tingling or pain in the affected area(s), or stinging/throbbing when the attack ends. Raynaud's can affect many areas of the body, including hands, feet, nose, tongue and nipples.

    • @megisworthy

For me, it starts when I touch something cold like food from the freezer, go into the ocean on a cold day, walk outside for ten seconds with my dog at night without gloves. It can even start in the morning when I'm waking up and typing in a cold room. My fingers start to loose their sensitivity, if I can get them on my neck, belly or armpits then it can arrest any further blood loss. If I don't do something immediately, they turn white and go numb. I have to stop everything to take care of this and often makes me late for work, meetings, appointments. In the grocery store I have to stop everything especially if I'm carrying heavy bags that stop blood flow to my fingers as well. Even the pull of a dog leash can trigger an attack.

Stay that way little man :) Think low carbish life, not being overweight, being honest and living a grateful based life make things ....cool, lol. I have a few autoimmune illnesses, am on no meds currently and I will be 50 this year. Raynauds has been the least serious tbh, even though it is def weird and annoying for sure. PS: my only tip is mittens work way better than gloves for me!

I am 14 and have had Raynaud’s for as long as I can remember. I am not on any medications and I don’t let it stop me.
I go to the beach in summer a lot and even when I am wearing a wetsuit and it’s the middle of summer I always get Raynaud’s attacks.
I try to just ignore it though, I am lucky that most of the time it doesn’t hurt to much but my hands go really numb and sometimes I can’t move them. That is really bad at school especially when I have to write a lot because I can’t move my hands.
When I am at home if I get an attack I have a shower because that helps but the only problem is that it hurts to turn the taps on when I have an attack.
