This is my favourite song in this movie. I love the sound of that guitar. I get the impression that Elwood is on a mission on behalf of many legendary musicians to entertain the masses. Movie quote- ''Go if you wish. Remember this. Walk away now and you walk away from your skills, your vocations... ...leaving our youth with nothing but digitally-sampled techno grooves... ...quasi-synth rhythms, pseudo songs of violence-laden gangster rap... ...acid pop and saccharine, soulless slush. Depart now and you separate yourselves from the vital legacies of... ...Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon... ...Jimmy Reed, Memphis Slim, Blind Boy Fuller... ...Louis Jordan, Little Walter, Big Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson One and Two... ...Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, Elvis Presley and Robert K. Weiss. Turn your backs and you snuff out the fragile candles of blues, R&B and soul. When those flames expire, the light of the world is extinguished... ...because the music which has moved mankind for seven decades... ...will wither and die from abandonment and neglect.''
I love this scene so much, plus that kid kills with the harmonica.. the soundtrack is excellent for this movie. Always down for Ghost Riders in The Sky !
Here's to the wagon wheel in Santa Rosa California and all those guys at stop in and get a beer there's a tear in your beer of all right loving this song Loving You John and Dan and Jim Jim Belushi and your brother
The history of this song, particular the list of those who sang shocked me. it is longer then you’d think.Seriously look it up you will not be disappointed
It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. And it's remote controlled. Whaddya say, is it the new Bluesmobile, or what?
It might be good for Ghostbusters, but not the Blues Brothers. Where there ghosts in the first Blues Brothers movie. No!, because they didn't need special effects like that for laughs.
Martin Guzman and that is true. it was very unnecessary. however, credit where credit is due, the special effects team that put it together did a good job on the skeletons, just wish it was used for a better and more appropriate movie.
Did it, though? I mean, Dan Akroyd's Elwood voice is just stupid in this (he really over did it), the car chase sucked ass, the pile up was dull and went on for WAY too long, neither of the new Blues Brothers were enjoyable at all, the first movie wasn't realistic and had a bit of silliness but this one just went absolutely stupid. I don't see the soundtrack making up for that. But to be fair, I clicked on this video to listen to the song.
The absolute best version of Ghost Riders I ever heard was from Lynyrd Skynyrd live in concert at a show I saw them do in Phoenix close to 20 years ago. They did about a 12 min version right before closing with Freebird. I've searched everywhere and I cannot find a recorded version of them or the original band doing it either live or in studio anywhere. It was incredible and before smartphones were around, so it's like a Holy Grail quest for me. Maybe I'll hit the lottery someday and can just pay them to play it for me lol.

I know his movie name is Buster, but what is his real name? This only matters if he is still an actor, or his he first love that of a musician? For me, Buster is a big part of what makes this film an enjoyable film to watch...the relationship of Buster and Elwood.
Years ago before I was born my dad wrote his own lyrics to this tune. It was about some girl he supposedly knew before he met my mom. He would tease her with it and she would get so mad. So every time I hear this song I think of both my parents.
Dan Akroyd is so talented but the whole group and the special effects is pretty great too...could list to it over and over and I love a good storm!!!
The movie was quite good, but without John Belushi, it did not have the same 'sheen' (and I dont' mean Martin).
This is still, to this day, my favourite version of this song. They did such a brilliant job.
What a great version of this song! You cannot go wrong with it.

Ted Mac I miss John Belushi he was funny

I think Jon Goodman did a fabulous job. Huge shoes to fill, well done.
You are right. I loved John Goodman as new Blues Brother :-)
Snake
He was no Belushi, but he did fantastic regardless. With a stronger script, this could have gone places.
Jon Goodman's performance was a pleasant surprise, but it's impossible to follow John Belushi
What can you say. He did good, man.
@@Mihoshika I agree with you bit some ppl cant let go he is great and belushi a Ledgend although not here anymore
Fantastico

Music like this must stay alive so our children will know what real talent is.

Found a channel to keep me happy all day long
One of my favorite scenes from the movie.love The cowboys and horses effect in the Storm clouds.
This is one of my favorite songs of mondaena Iowa and the town of mondaena Iowa and the town of mondaena Iowa and the town of mondaena Iowa
Music comes from the sole and you can tell, doesn't matter what genre. If it's good anyone will love it
God Bless America and God Bless the Blues Brothers
When you sing so well, that the actual Ghost Riders came to hear ya...

"Fix the cigarette lighter."
1:24 If I was in that concert and saw this, I would pick up the phone and call the Ghostbusters.
+Spike Riley Or you could just call Elwood. ;)
Your just sayin that because Dan aren't you?
also i think you could call jhonny ghost
+Digital Funktioneer one of them is anyway.
grab your proton pack, dan.
After seeing the new trailer... I would take my chances with the ghosts.
in the scene's defence, the rider, horse, and long horn skeletons where pretty awesomely animated and designed.

Song so Awesome! Blues Brothers can actually summon all The Ghost Riders.
Wat muziek blauw broers dat hou jou van jullie groet Adrie👍🤗🥰😜😎😎
This is one of those movies that could have been better, but the soundtrack made up for everything.

It is pretty cool when Elwood drives the car with a control
Sensationell - Szene und Musik :-) Just love it.
Ghost riders in the sky came through my small town this weekend. I was lucky, they only knocked out my Internet for a day.
I liked this movie and the songs. I don't know why everyone is complaining.
Still had better ghost effects than the new Ghostbusters
Better❤🎉
when my dad showed this movie to me as a kid this was always my favorite scene lol
saw them live in a 4 hour concert with no other bands i Memphis
Same. Twice the price of a regular concert at the time, but worth every dime. I mean, I saw them with Balushi.
So jealous!
love this amazing voices
Imagine singing so well that you actually summon the ghost riders
Reí demasiado con esta película
Es gibt niemanden , der dieses Lied besser gesungen hat. Einfach genial gemacht.
Elwood looked so proud of Buster.
Say what you will about the visuals, and the context, but the music's awesome.
The song sounds better in Ghost Rider.
@@martinguzman3995 Ironic lol
They were fabulous group, and the musuc was memorable
You gotta love when the kid busts out the harmonica and gets down!

By far ,the best version ...ever
And suitable, not like the first.
I guess for a spoof it’s ok, but certainty no where near the real versions.
wow the little blues is so cute
This Is not only a good Movie Is also a National treasure
An old cow polk went ridin' one dark and windy day
Upon a ranch he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw
A plowin' through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw
Yippee-i-yay
Yippee-i-yo
Ghost riders in the sky
Their brands were still on fire and thier hoofs were made of steel
Their horns were black and shiney and thier hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky
Yippee-i-yay
Yippee-i-yo
Ghost riders in the sky
Their faces gone, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat
Their rindin' hard to catch that heard but they ain't caught 'em yet
'cause they got to ride forever in that range up in the sky
On horses snortin' fire... As they ride they hear their cry
Yippee-i-yay
Yippee-i-yo
Ghost riders in the sky
As the riders loped on by him, he heard one call his name
'if you want to save your soul from hell, you're ridin' on that range
Then cowboy, change your ways today or with us you'll ride on
Tryin' to catch the devil's herd across the endless sky'
Yippee-i-yay (yippee-i-yay)

The majority of the movie is no way near as good as the original, but this scene... IS ASWOME!!!
I watched this ever before knowing there was an original. Saw a Johnny Cash video of the same song, the memory of this scene came rushing down
I love this Movie.
So do I.
Some people say the visuals are random, well, the BBs are on a mission from God, so some divine intervention every now and then is appropriate.
Not in this movie! Elwood just wanted to do what he wanted and pull the other guys out of good, honest jobs...Elwood sucks in this movie!
Yeah, I caught on to my mistake like a week after this post.
Elwood's lost without Joliet Jake and making Music and looking for Brothers is all he knows to do.
