I've been making pittas for 35 years learned from my husbands pontian Yiayia . I tried your pitta and its the best I've ever made. Bravo from one Yiayia to the other
Now this is good old fashioned cooking/baking Yiayia! Thank you for sharing your recipe and a huge Thanks to your son for being a great translator... :)!
I'm Greek and this guy has no clue what is going on lol, hilarious. Yiayia is spot on, he doesn't know even what vinegar is, or phyllo for that matter. It's amazing and funny to watch her work, he basically plays with the line of making fun of her. Yiayia is all business with making the tiropita though and her recipe is really very nice. Bet it tastes yummy. She's like a pro in the kitchen, he probably is a professional eater :)
Just like my YiaYia, differently labeled bottles, large cups.... The way that make recipes hard to replicate.. they are classics 👍 my YiaYia her fried chicken recipe once, it doesn't taste same...
Thank you for this. Reminds me of my yia-yia. I miss her so much. There was ALWAYS hot fresh food at her house any time of the day. The best food in the entire world, made by hand.
Bravo yiayia for your talent. It looks delicious. I laughed so much with your son narrating the ingredients and the method... ( We have precise measurements... a little bit of this and a little bit of that...) corn oil in a olive oil bottle! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣You reminded me of my mom..! Thanks!
hi yia yia..watching you here from Philippines..i've been to greece for 5 years and i really miss greek foods specially tirofita and spanakofita..thank you so much for sharing the way to do it..i tried it and it went nice ..despite tha fact that feta cheese is quite expensive here..i can only buy it in the imported grocery store..and also i miss my yia yia Galatia from the family that i worked with..watching you make me reminished the times that i been living with them..thank you yia yia mu glika..filakia folla..❤️
Thank you for watching, I started making these videos so not only my children but grandchildren will hopefully be able to watch and possibly make some of these recipes
Don't doubt Yaiyai's cooking skills. If she says it's corn oil (or four cups) believe and just do it! Otherwise, she gonna kick your butt! Go Yaiyai go!
Loved watching your mother cook. Chris loved your sense of humour....you made me laugh with your comments. Greek mothers never accurately measure, they just know how much of this and that to put in, that’s why they are the best at cooking. Enjoyed your video. By the way, I love pitas!
She said if you do not put the butter it will stick. The dough rests to not spring back as easily. No dill? or Parsley? I do not like dill but love parsley.
Melina 1968 I would love to play Greek music but I’m having a hard time finding copyright free Greek music, if I play popular Greek music TH-cam would ban my video
Yasou yiayia her secrets remain hidden in various bottles that mislead the enthusiastic cook lol Hey Christos put Greek music on! there is no precision in dough.
I just loved your mum,God bless her. It’s not cottage cheese, it’s fresh ricotta cheese she used.
Love your sweet mom cooking ❤️ the best part Beautiful memories

The little tap is important😂 thank you for the recipe from a Greek living in Australia.
The hands of an expert rolling that dough! Beautiful texture!
What lovely lady and a great looking kitchen too.

This reminds me so much of my Yiayia especially when I saw she put the vinegar in the water bottle and the corn oil in the olive oil bottle lol

Mitzithra is more like Parmesan cheese. It comes in a ball and must be grated like she had it.
Lovely video!! Reminds me of my own yiayia. Next time greek music please haha (-;
Melina 1968 I would love to play Greek music but I’m having a hard time finding copyright free Greek music, if I play popular Greek music TH-cam would ban my video

Olive oil is the best. Corn oil is refined oil.
God Bless YiaYia
Ricotta cheese
A mama's cup and a bakers cup is clearly not the same...my mom does the same thing. She just means one of her cups.
