    Thought hot racing wasn’t the best. How are all the HR parts holding up? Also who makes those turnbuckles? A link would be highly appreciated if possible.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had an issue with the HR parts...except their universals - don't buy them! the links are a Pro-Line concoction - pick up the Axial Kit version - the aluminum adjustable ones. They're the best IMO

    • @AszBall
      @AszBall 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The RCNetwork - I’m assuming by “universals” you meant the CVD front axles, but yea seen some real bad reviews on those so was looking at the Axial universal axles for the front but seems like they might be a couple millimeters shorter than they should be from what I’ve read so if you have any insight on a good front setup for the axles I’d be interested to hear what you’ve found works(I prefer universal over CVD). As for the turnbuckles I ended up goin with Slash turnbuckles because I think I was having troubles finding the Axial aluminum ones when I was looking. Worked out though, they were cheaper anyways ($10 per pair x2) and they fit pretty damn good.

    You've spent a lot on that Yeti after buying all the HT horse-racing upgrades and now all the Vanquish upgrades.. would you say the Vanquish Currie are better quality or the HT..?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the older VP AR 60 axles on this Yeti, but a weak spot was where the lock outs connected. That connection when landing hard allowed a bit of movement and it bent axles in that spot. I ended up using the SSD rear wide diamond axle which fixed that

    I'm guessing that you have taken apart the yet, so I was wondering if you have found out if the yeti's drive train is actually fully metal. Aside from the spur gear and drive shaft. Is it really all metal?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +LOSI OUTDOORS The RTR and KIT versions have all metal geared transmissions and transfer cases. The difference then lies in the diffs. The KIT version has the HD hardened bevel/pinion set where the RTR has metal gears, but more of a "pot metal" Both have a plastic spur and HD Wildboar rear driveshafts

    What do you think about overdrive bevel gear set in a yeti both axles ? , I am running a 56t spur /16t pinion and a 3s , speed is all I am looking for , just looking for reliable input

    Hi mate, i had the same issue with HR castor blocks and Vanquish knuckles.
    They bind when used together! i had to try and machine the castor blocks but still no go for me.
    What had you machined to make it all work???
    Cheers!!

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      BigCarKilla Just a bit of the black anodization where the vanquish sandwiches into the HR blocks

    Thanks for the reply! In your opinion which one so you think is better to buy the RTR or the Kit version of the Yeti?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Night Hawk The Kit version gives you some needed upgrades that the RTR is screaming for. So if you have the know how on setting up the electronics and can build the KIT, def go for the KIT version

    Are you going to lock up the servo saver? I have a savox servo in mine that has around 300 oz. of torque, and that servo saver really limits the true power of the servo.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      farcinega Already locked it up with a similar sized bearing to take all adjustment out. I have a thread on RCC that shows this a bit better.

    being newer to rc I followed many in pursuit of hot racing parts for their good looks and affordibility. many should ask at what cost though? I found out why they are cheaper because the quality of the parts are sheer garbage. first appearance it seems well done but the quality of the aluminum is very soft. I've purchased a diff cover that constantly bends at the base allowing dirt and debris to enter my rear diff on my axial yeti 1/10. then I purchased the 1 piece wheel hub adapters. this is solely where my disgust came out. the pin in the axle that meets the adapter is a fail point. after 3 runs the aluminum adapters have wollowed out to the point that my axle pins snap because the excessive play. then I bought an aluminum/carbon fiber steering rack with aluminum post. after 2 runs the assembly has loosened up and I barely caught it in time saving the nuts and bolts. second note the upper links on the front suspension contact the steering rack before my shocks bottom out. completely shotty parts by hot racing.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +07slowbalt Thanks 07SB for watching my videos. Hot Racing is a great company and has actually improved their products recently (starting when I did the initial Yeti build). The material improved along with the fit and finish of the product. With that said, when I started the upgrade series, there were NO upgrades specifically for the Yeti out yet. Axial was slow to market and unless you utilized Wraith parts for the rear and Exo parts for the front, every other part was Hot Racing at the time. They did a great job of some of the basic items specifically the ones I showed. The main issues I was having was the motor mount and the steering rack (which at the time no one had an option) To date, all of my Hot Racing parts have withstood the torture I have put my rig through. Lastly, when ever you start mixing stock and aftermarket parts, there's gonna be issues (ex. upper links on the front suspension contact the steering rack before my shocks bottom out.) RC is about working through those issues and making it better. But like you said, affordability isn't always going to be the best parts. If I know that that specific part is going to be tortured, you may want to throw some money that way. Vanquish does great parts but they do have a price of admission

      Mega Marsh Mallows In HD I've checked them out before.......And I'm not one to shy away on a price thing.......but for what I use stands for, I'm not sure I would qualify for it

    • @TrailChasers
      @TrailChasers 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      i can understand why, not everyone's cup of tea, i have found that some chassis which are elevated on the edges like an ecx torment will not work due to the elevation change on the chassis, no matter thought because i use mine for my race rigs only. cheers!
