You can use any speaker you want. You just need to upgrade the amp when changing speakers as default amp has little power and is only tuned for the default speakers it came with.

Are you saying a can buy any speaker that fits in my doors - take off the end connenector not on my factory bmw speaker harness - replace it with the one that fits my new speaker - plug my new speaker in - BOOM! New speakers

Great tutorial! I’m fitting new hk tweeters, as I was removing the blue connector from the mid range it snapped leaving the 2 wires exposed . Any ideas how I can resolve this? Thx
@@FritzRamos I have a similar issue. I pulled out my speaker wire while removing the door panel, snapping the blue connector. My wires are exposed now and the other part of the blue connector is still in the speaker. I assume I could buy another connector. There's a second plug for a connector right next to it. I'd really like to remove that broken piece though. Did you use a dental picker/scraper to remove one side of the connector?
Dude the blue speaker connector that’s connected to the loom in the car, that you removed from the original speaker, can that be replaced with the connector on the splitter harness you had? I want to replace my OEM speaker like for like, but the connector broke when I removed it from the old speaker. Really need help here!
I got an 04 touring and all the speakers are gone. Been looking into getting some aftermarket for it and I know you stated that it works with any speaker. Would this work for skar audio speakers?
@@FritzRamos so i guess when i open door(since i have hifi), their will be wires goin to door speaker(mid) then piggybacked to the tweeter in corner window then to mid on dash in a chain? so i would need the 3 way wire, connect soldered end to bmw connector thas pulled off door speaker, then other 2 to door speaker and tweet wire?
Hi, do you know how I can make a harness so I can plug my BMW 216i LCI head unit to a after market Hertz amp that is not a plug and play type. And after which from the amp to the speakers without the need to cut any wiree?
This was done on a 2015. If you can just pop off a speaker and see if it would be better to do this or a spade connector. I used a spade connector for mt e36.

I would imagine it's the same process, just check the connection so you get the proper adapter

Can we not just cut and tape the original bmw wire and the speaker wire as in like without the connector
That's what I did on my e36 but the connection is soldered on to the speaker on newer BMWs.

This was done on a 2015. If you can just pop off a speaker and see if it would be better to do this or a spade connector. I used a spade connector for mt e36.
this would apply to your 2011 you would just have to know if you have base or logic 7 speakers
