- I would have to say that this is the best budget bmw speaker upgrade. Mostly because it's 100% customizable to the speakers that fit the sound profile that you want. Any suggestions for the rear deck speakers?

10:27 Hey Fritz, I suggest adding some foam or insulating tape to the speaker pig tail where it turns over to the other side of the door and rubs the metal corner under that insulating material. The wire seems a bit long and loose under that insulator. Because of the vibrations, it'll rub the edge of the door and potentially cut. Also, suggest securing the pig tail back to the wiring harness over there. Good video. cheers.

Great video, especially of removing the door panel, but IMO no one should be drilling. You can get speaker adapter rings for this BMW pattern in either plastic or MDF for really cheap.

Great video 👍. I chose Audison speaker upgrade for my bmw f40. I listen to vocal trance, classical and top 40. It wasn’t cheap either and included an amplifier.

Thank you 🙏🏻 I would like to ask if you have a solution for a minor problem i faced while upgrading my regular 320 sound system to HK from am f80 m3. While connecting the seat subwoofers i noticed that the cable from the car had a 4 pin while the connecting wire from the subwoofer was a 2 pin. Thank you again 🙏🏻
Are you saying that the connections don't match up or that 2 slots are empty on the sub connection?

I was trying upgrade to 5.25 but they’re to big for my 2016 528i so I went with nvx 4 inches. I changed out the center and the rear and you can tell the difference, but I need to do the doors like you did so they will fit and I will also add an aftermarket amp to push them.
plug and play or you have an aftermarket amp? Stock amp is taken out if I'm guessing right?

So I have a bmw e90. The problem is I took it to a professional shop and they told me if I put those alpines in the car then the tweeters above the speakers will die and not work anymore since bmw is hard to work with

I have an f30 320i, but mine does not have the center dash speaker and it does not have the tweeters in the doors, is there a sound system kit specifically for my model?

Is it possible to install a little bigger speaker? Like say 5.25" instead of 4", will it fit the hole? Also i'm buying component, mid + tweeter to install in the door cover next to mirror, think it sounds better. Thanks
From my testing, a 5.25 won't fit without some sort of fabrication. Also the speaker grill on the door trip might need to be adjusted. Hope that helps
Trying to find mids for good clarity every mid I seem to get touches my window glass can someone suggest a good pair that won't do that, keep in mind my f30 is going to be entered in sound competitions

Hi , the speakers sound's great but I have a problem, after I finished i realized that the windows are touching the speakers as they come down it's seems that the speakers are using to much space and the windows are touching the rear side of the speakers. What can I do ? Help please

Hi Fritz, thanks that was very helpful, I have ordered the alpine speakers for mt BMWx3, someone mentioned I will have to use brackets to install the speakers and move them forward as they will interfere with the windows, did you face any such issues?
They are a little deeper than the stock speakers, but i did not use any spacers and have not experienced any interference.
I just experienced this , I installed everything hit the road and rolled my window down and when I rolled it back up the tint on my windows scrapped all the way back up.

I'm sure it would, but my suggestion would be to switch back to the original screen if there is any warranty that you need to claim

Great video as always ✌️ just a side note - best to make a pilot hole with a smaller drill bit first, then go ahead with the bigger bit, or just use self tapping screws.

Pretty much any 4in speaker with a 4ohm impedance
I highly recommend jbl stage, jbl, club, or jbl gto. Depending on how much you are willing to spend.

Any 4 or 5 inch speaker, that is 4ohm, and is efficient. Something with a low rms, like under 30 rms, anything higher and your stock amp is not going to push it properly, and higher rms speakers usually have bigger magnets, which could cause fitment issues with the window when you roll it down. Take your door panel off and measure the size of the speaker hole, and measure the distance from the hole to the glass, and you will know what size width and depth you can install. It is also good to know how close your door panel is to the top of the speaker at its max excursion, so your speaker doesn't hit the door panel when they flex.
Hey how many rms watts for the factory speaker? I am considering an upgrade but dont have an amplifier in my car so I was wondering how many watts rms I can connect to the headunit safely

Hi, i really like your videos and they helped me before but this was odly enough not working for me.
I installed the exact same speakers since i saw this in your video for my f31 and mount them the same way, but now i cant open my Windows anymore. Stuck on the magnet
I just put in the same speakers. You need to add some kind of spacers or a mounting plate (approximately 1 to 1.5cm is needed) when mounting it. The window hits the speaker as this one has more depth to it then OEM speakers.

What kind of music do you listen to? I would typically say upgrade the speakers first and go from there.

I'm not sure about that one, but I didn't need one and the 2 series in general have less tolerances than the 3 series.

The good thing about that is you must not drill this two holes.

Just wanted to go with something budget and give people more options once they have the speaker connections. Those speakers are a great option though.
