Mustang Medic that car is what made mustangs what they are today ! Small car and a shit ton of power !! One of my all time favorite cars .The real king Cobra2 rocks a 5.0
I feel the same way. The Mustang II wouldn't be my first choice, but he definitely put a lot of time and money into this one. Thanks for taking a look!
I put a 289 in my Black 78 Mustang Cobra 2…it was my cousins motor…he had it bored out 293 balanced…if I knew where it was I’d buy it back…should have never sold it…it’s been almost 30 years…miss it
I'm getting a lone for NASCAR because this car is the car I want I'm in the hospital I have walking pneumonia and covid-19 when I get out I'm going to buy this car
It's a real king Cobra. She has KC package. I marti reported it before buying it. She doesn't have power steering and also the A/C was uninstalled. Was a factory ac car. I'm really happy with her!
Mustang II's get a lot of heat for the looks, and that many say the Cobra model was mostly just a badge since the emissions changed at time of production, I personally love them to death tho, Must have a King Cobra someday
being a owner of a not bone stock mustang II and fan of the blue max mustang II funny car my inspiration ! I love all the mods that were done to this including changing the motor bone stock mine ran a 16.98 at 80 something in the 1/4 mile with the stock c4 auto trans I dropped in a 351 w and topped it with the 65- 70 289-302 kit it ran a untuned 13.55 @100 mph. I had to use the early 3 bolt harmonic balancer for the lower super charger pulley that comes with the kit is 3 bolt and use short valve covers because the kit was made for the shorter 289-302 blocks not the 351 w and being that you can get this 351 bored and stroked to 455 cid ok sorry just dreaming again!! OH I run 1969 turn signals under the front bumper!
terencekelly52 my Mustang II Coupe is lightened to 2400 pounds and I put a 530 horsepower 332" stroker motor in it. The motor will pull to 8800 RPM, and the car is pretty fast
I have the 76 blue with white stripes and full blue interior cobra, it's not a king but hey it's still awesome! except the fact in Europe spare parts are hard to find especially for the back of the car
I'm not usually a fan of this style of Stang, but holy cow. this one looks awesome, wicked stance to it. I wonder where he found that battery tie-down? I want something like that in the Supra.
Damn what a car, and the price is good too, I'd much rather have this than a brand new V6 mustang. It's pretty much a new car and it's less than have the price of a base 2014 Mustang.
WOW !! my old brother have one 1977 ford cobra mustang out black and inside red very clean!!! auto . a/c very cold and t-top is beautifully so !! BUT SOLD IT! i make mad at him !! LOL bueacuse he have to moved to chicago from oklahoma ...
I have to agree with Allan, its not a KC build at all. That being said I love everything about the car except the hood. Not a fan of all those vents at all and that goes for any car, not just this one. I do like it though. Nice job.
If you consider that the original Mustang was a re-bodied Falcon, their lowest cost car, and the Mustang II was a re-bodied Pinto, I think when people make fun of the Mustang II for its Pinto roots, they don’t understand the Mustang “brand”. The Mustang II follows the original concept better than the bloated early 70’s Mustangs. Yes, they were low on power due to the early clean air restrictions but that was not Ford’s fault. All cars back then had low horsepower. The 64 1/2 Mustang’s top horsepower was only 210 hp with most models having 101 hp to 164 hp. After all, the Mustang was the original PONY car which means smaller, more nimble chassis than the GTO’s, Chevelle, Fairlane, etc. So the Mustang II was true to the original Mustang concept.
The 1978 Mustang or King Cobra never came with a 289 it would have been a 302 but Ford Badged as a 5.0 for the first time. The Trans should be a 4 Speed. The original hood scoop was the same as previous Cobra only turn around with the opening faced the Windshield. I brought my Cobra in 77 New , still have it.
Anything King Cobra is missing on the car. Its all wrong.... Its got early model Cobra door panels, NOT 78. The color was not a KC option, Trim is wrong color for a KC. The KC rear side spats are missing. The bumper trim, missing. The striping package... missing. 289 was not a KC option. Nice car, but not built to KC specs. I'd love to see the door code and buck tag.
I'm not even a Ford guy and I can see that this thing is a total clone. Would work fine as a weekend driver, just don't be the fool bragging on a "king cobra" pinto. I agree I'd be curious to see the option tag on this car but I'd guess it's long gone
@@303nitzubishi4 actually it's not a close. Its not a pinto at all. I grew up with a car like this. It is it's own style. But this car was restored poorly. It is.missimg all the great decals and cool stuff that made it rare. I also had a pinto in high school. The pinto is smaller dude, trust me. I have seen the cobra and pinto side by side each other. The pinto is about a foot smaller. Maybe more.
a black cobra ii, with red interior is more than likely a clone car, as they didn't sell black on red cars, its usually a hotrodders color, and a common clone spec because red interior cars are cheap because they fade easily and turn orange-brown,people usually do clone cars on them,. but that said... you could probably get your bros car back for under 3000$ in great shape in the same spec
I hate to criticize your ride but many Blue Oval boys back in the day couldn't stomach Ford putting King Cobra on a car with a 302 2V, a bunch of stickers and 13" wheels. You do have a nice example however.
i dont own a cobra ii, currently... but cobra clones with red interior are common, because that year the car was primarily marketed for women, and red was a favorite color amoungst female buyers... and thus alot of red interior hatchbacks are floating around from 77 it might have been a white cobra ii, repainted black.... but that said, its lost half of what made it a "cobra 'II" which was the stripes and cobra snakes. clone cars are cheap and common... so yes 2800-3000$ is good for nice exampl
its not worth 15... its fair at 8k... because 289 swap cars are real common, minus the wheels and the 69 shelby-style hood, and you got a pretty normal modded king coba and those items aside its a pretty solid 4500-5000 car, add the 2k wheels, and custom hood and you can push it up 8k... im not saying its a bad car its an awesome custom, but i know what II's sell for, and 8k is the top of the mark. the owner had it on craigslist asking 10,500 awhile back... and that was obviously too much. lol
You're right. Infact this car ha sempre a 68 mustang 289. holley 4bbl carb and edelbrock rpm intake. the whole drivetrain is from a 68 mustang (engine, trans, diff, axles, etc)
The guy did say it was modified .I think it's ok but a serious collector who wants an original numbers matching fresh off the factory floor car wouldn't even look at it . I don't even know if the all originals are worth anything at auction yet.
Certainly not original, but I like everything except the GHETTO wheels. I believe these came with 13" or 14" wheels. Otherwise a beautiful car. I don't know why people hate these cars so much. They look way better than the Fox body trash cans that replaced them. Ford did not build another nice looking Mustang until 2005.
My 78 King Cobra had 13" factory aluminum honeycomb wheels they were 4 stud. Some one must have changed the rear axles and front hubs to 5 stud, great upgrade.
Correct my 78 King COBRA had a 85 mph speedometer. At 85 the car felt like a bathtub that was going to leave the road and fly, you didn't dare go any faster. The tires were 13". And 70 series. The front ball joints were to light duty for the stress of 60 series tires. All said the easiest way to fix the Mustang 2 shortcomings was to sell it and buy a Camaro,. The Camaro was a much better car.
Looking for my first car 1975 mustang 2 ghia 6 cylinders AC am fm power brakes n power steering. Forced to sell due to my dad's decision for my newlywed kid 17 husband got a hold of it and being mine never did drive it after marrying this looser. Dad sold it.
I agree that is one of the nicest custom Mustang II Cobras that I have ever seen. Awesome car. Much better than anything offered stock 1974-1978.
The Mustang II is a nice platform for a build. Everyone forgets the automotive environment of the times. It was a low period for performance.
Sounds awesome from such a small Mustang
nice II. Too bad its automatic.
true, but it is still rare
Mustang Medic that car is what made mustangs what they are today ! Small car and a shit ton of power !! One of my all time favorite cars .The real king Cobra2 rocks a 5.0
Definitely the nicest looking Mustang II I've ever seen!!☺
This one is nicely done for sure. Thanks for having a look!
Nice to see such an important part of Mustang history alive.
Glad it brought back some good memories. Thanks for checking it out!
Nice car 🏁
No doubt about it. He definitely put some effort into this one. Thanks for taking a look!
I agree, it was a dismal time for the Mustang, but this one is really nice. Thanks for having a look!
One of My favorite mustangs it is just so awsome and always strong i just love this mk2 mustang thanks jeff and Jordan for this video 😊😊😎😊😊
Thanks for checking it out my friend!
Blue beauty
Thanks for checking it out. This one sold really quickly.
Thanks for checking it out Racer!
I'm sure he has more money wrapped up in it. Thanks for taking a look George!
I feel the same way. The Mustang II wouldn't be my first choice, but he definitely put a lot of time and money into this one. Thanks for taking a look!
Best 78 Mustang ever. Nice job on the hood. Really nice paint. I never thought i would say this about the 78 year but I wouldnt mind having that one.
What did he have to do to get the 289 legal for this 70's car?
Really cool. New respect for these years of mustangs now.

It really is the nicest of it's kind that I've seen. Glad you like it.
I would really like to know the sizing of those wheels and tires. I’ve been wanting to build my II in very similar taste as this one.
Gotta have that crazy 70s decal or log or wtf you wanna call it on the hood, though.
They're not my favorite cars either, but this one is exceptionally nice. That battery hold down is a nice piece.
He really did a nice job with this one. Thanks for watching!
Nice lost mine in KAYRINA 77" MUSTANG 2 302" OVER 30" BLK B"M SHIFTER 3"SP. NEWORLEANS 2005

I know it has disc brakes up front, but I'm not sure about the rear.
I think I have seen this car at fun ford weekend. It really is a nice car!
Very NICE ... POWERED ny FORD .
That's a stunning Mustang.
Where does one find those all red tail lights without the middle one being amber colored?
It just so happens I have an extra set, thanks!
Mike King Thanks for the tips, I have an extra set so I'll try that option and see how it turns out.
Is this the original engine? Whenever I read about the Mustang II KC, it's always listed with a 302ci 2bbl V8, not a 289 4bbl.

It is a lot of car for the money. Thanks for watching Alberto!
Yea!! The forgotten cobra..First thing I would do..Swap to a 4spd..The c-4 is a good trans..But the 4spd tho
Another quick question, is it easy and inexpensive to add power steering to a factory manual steering car??
If I had the cash,Id grab it right now !!
I'd buy that one.
am i wrong if i ls one? i wouldnt feel right .what you guys think. just want it to be fast enough to compete for a 300 hp stock chevy
Wow incredible car. Was this the birth of the Fox bodies?
Damn what a car, and the price is good too, I'd much rather have this than a brand new V6 mustang. It's pretty much a new car and it's less than have the price of a base 2014 Mustang.
No, he swapped in the 289 in place of the original 302. The factory 302 wasn't nearly as powerful.
Nice car for the price and a LOT OF CAR
I've never been a big fan of the Mustang 2, But I really like this one and the price for what you get in this car is a bargain.
Finally a mustang ll that's worth driving lol what brakes are on it?
No mention of the rear end ( gears ) or did I miss it? Very nice looking ride.
great looking car !
My kind of car mustang
Glad you like it Tom, thanks for watching!
Hey Jeff, does a MSD ignition box step up horsepower??
Thank you for watching!
problem with retromods is someone has to like it like you did
LOL....I think he could get a couple more on there.
1978. I was two years old, and the Mustang was a Pinto.

Really, that's pretty cool.
@@RamblinAround It's a very small world! :)
How did you make that nasa hood?
oh really very nice car? you have still have cobra11 now or sold it?
Why diss the 302 v8 for a 289 ?

I'm drooling :F
Amazing car at a crazy price.. Still available?! Probably not! LOL!
This one sold pretty quickly. I believe it's headed to Italy.
I'm looking for a set of motor mount frame support brackets for 74-78 mustang ll.. can y'all help me ?
Beautiful wish it was mine
I like the car keep binging more vids please

I was thinking the same. Needs the king cobra graphics . This thing is a bad example.

Not a true King Cobra wrong engine wrong interior wrong hood nice looking custom
King Cobra name reminds me of 1970 King Cobra prototype car
