Omg! I’m just at the beginning and know most of the US is freezing but you’re doing great so far!!! Bravo! I’m a SoCal native. I’ve been to my brother’s in Minnesota in February before, and my cheaper retirement idea of moving there completely evaporated! Bird couch and all, you’ll survive! And I kinda like the den slash love nest vibe! 💐
Well when you guys get your own place eventually you will have most of that stuff in totes already so that will save some time. Nice that you have a dad who will let you stay there. You are very lucky.
I wonder if you could maybe get a couch slip cover -- that way you keep that very meaningful (and comfy!) couch but make it fit your esthetic a little better. Just an idea....

Your new place is looking great so far. I had to chuckle as you and Matt were going in and out of the trailer. It looked like you guys were entering an alternative universe or something. LOL. The way the camera picked up the surrounding area around the trailer, it washed out that area. Looking forward to seeing the progress you're making. It's going to be comfortable and cozy for you and your family. ❤😊
My sister lives near Cherokee Iowa. She says the worst part is the cold in winter and heat in summer.

I’m from Minneapolis MN myself and it seems you had to unpack in the Cold Snap that arrived here in January. By now, I imagine you are enjoying warmer weather, as here in MN, it is hitting the high 40’s, Lol
The twinkle lights with the addition of the white curtain really brightened up the space on that side of the room! ❤
You could wear both those coats outside if it's that cold out.

The space saver bags I bought never zipped fully. So they’re just plastic bags at this point. Maybe I could try again, but probably not 😅

Should have moved most of the stuff in a POD and left it closed until they settle down.
Why don’t you talk to your dad about just staying in the basement indefinitely and just helping him on the utilities? Just a thought.
