I'm currently taking 60 injections and honestly I feel better after being on several mends.... it's working slowly but surely just gaining weight cuz it makes me super hungry
Be careful proverbs 14:15 says "The naive person believes every word, But the shrewd one ponders each step". Some will tell you that the effects of such drugs are minimal but do your RESEARCH.
I've been taking methotrexate for 18 years (except for while pregnant with my son), it's helped slow down my disease activity! Thank you for this helpful video! I definitely do better with the injections than oral pills due to less stomach side effects on the injections.
My lifesaver . Took a year to sort out the type and dose but I have now been over 2 years past that and am doing ok. Side effects are not nice and change week to week but I know they last up 48 hours and them I am good to go.I am on 20mg once a week in tablets. 2 x 10mg. I would be a total mess I have Phsy by now if not for Methotrexate. I have a nasty form of Arthritis.
This is such a clear and helpful summary, thank you! I've been taking methotrexate for about 8 months now for RA, and switching from tablets to injections definitely improved its effectiveness for me. The methotrexate 'hangover' I could do without, though.. Has anyone found their side effects decrease over time?
I develloped severe RA during recovery after a successfully back opp to stop horrific back pain from years of heavy lifting. My specialist suggested it may have been latent RA induced by the trauma. Anyway after nearly a year trexject and Plaquenil have me in remission and my life back. Some issues with nausea but I don't care, finally free of pain. So good
Does anyone else struggle with their Rheumatologist ignoring their requests for injections instead of tablets for Methotrexate? I have discussed numerous reasons as to why I prefer the injections, but they dont listen to me, and say to take tablets for Methotrexate and also another medication to prevent digestive issues. Why take two meds when I can just take one?! Seems odd to me, so thought I'd ask on here.

See a different rheumatologist
I'm still on them and two other RA meds, and they aren't working enough, so I'm now starting a fourth RA med this month. Mad, eh!
Horrible because this has so many side effects on me. Causes fatigue and hair fall.
