Bros we’re ahead of their time. I was lucky enough to see them live during this era. It was surreal. At some point during the set, the crowd lost all composure and started a water bottle war from both sides of the field (it was in a football stadium). I turned around and there was this like 100ft arc of hundreds of water bottles flying through the air in opposite directions. And the light was reflecting off of them like disco balls. I’ll never forget that. May be my most precious concert memory ever.
@@ElSeventhSon No, they had to change their name to Chemical Brothers because of legal issue with the original Dust Brothers (the ones who composed the Fight Club's soundtrack).
I saw Chemical Brothers in the Boiler Room at Big Day Out in Sydney 2000 and this song lifted the roof OFF, the whole room was jumping, pumping, the atmosphere was simply AMAZING, was one of the best experiences of my life....will never forget it!
That was the gig where the fire alarm was set off and there was a moment of confusion where they both looked at each other trying to work who was responsible for the extra siren lol
Saw them in Glasgow last year for the first time at the ripe old age of 57... probably one of the best concerts ive ever been at, absolutely banging tunes, graphics, stage production was immense, love my dance music, they were fantastic start to finish ❤❤
Checking this song out on other videos at Glastonbury in 2011, 2019 and Sonar 2022 it sounded just as fresh for each of these years. It will always be an iconic track and a timeless masterpiece.👌
We're typically used to songs being played live if they're acoustic/instrumental, or played from recordings/productions if they're techno. The chem bros are one of the few mainstream (there are a lot of other artists who do it but aren't as well-known) producers who actually perform techno live, playing and recreating it faithfully off their synths and drum machines. The structure of this song changes every time it's played. The release version on Surrender is not this version, is not the Glastonbury 2019 version. They can actually play it to respond to the crowd, which is fucking insane.
Alone on my own in that field. That was the last year before the Super Fence, AMAZING Gig but you just couldn't move; never seen that stage so packed. Chems smashed it though.
Went to Glastonbury to see the boys and could hardly get in the field there was that many people a few weeks later my mate who’s a music writer invited me to the Q awards and they was there DJing and I was standing next to the DJ box and 4 other dancing about telling this story to Tom as this played it was fucking madness 🤯
New artists don’t hold a candle to this imo. And these dudes actually did all of this live with actual synths and computers. Now it’s just some chode with a fucking aux cable miming the motions of these authentic legends.
Fml..... 24 years ago, I'm 50 so..... fuck a duck where has the time gone???? 24 years.... that's a quarter of my lifespan, if I'm lucky !!!!! and it is still awesome.........JFC.... I could have sworn this track was released last week..........
The Prodigy are far much more better than the chemical bros, I've seen both live and the prodigy sound system was like winning the lottery. The prodigy, no other band like them
20 years later and it's still an absolute banger

Saw them in Atlanta early 90’s. When they were called the dust brothers. Tiny club called Madhouse...amazing.
Holy shit, so these guys are the dust brothers??? No wonder Fight club's soundtrack is so damn good!
