CB headlined Future Music at Randwick Racecourse in Syd 2007. It was unbelievable. Not as much of a crowd as Glosenberry, but they put on some performance. The laser lights was epic. The had the clown from the movie IT, miming their songs on a mega screen. John Digweed Chemical Brothers
I saw them in 2000 and they still hold that honor with me as well... just absolute fucking bangers from end to end, and they're actually performing the tracks. Not just hitting "play" on a deck.
The Chemical brothers are a huge part of me growing up. Listening to their albums on the day of the release, hearing them in a nightclub for the first time, watching them live at their smaller gigs and then watching them at the best festival in the world, Glastonbury. The visuals, the re-inventing of their songs and their delivery is unreal.
What’s amazing is if you listen to The Chemical Brothers playing at Glastonbury in 2000, the crowd reaction is practically the same. Just goes to show that tunes like this never die.
The crowd in 2000 was more audible in the mix and they fucking ERUPTED. But from what I read, it was also double capacity because people broke down the fencing around the perimeter... so that probably contributed to the noise too lol
The best electronic music made in the 90s just still absolutely holds up. Hey Boy Hey Girl sounded incredibly cool when it was released and it will still sound incredibly catchy and sick in another 10-20 years. The Chemical Brothers have just made some utterly timeless dance music.

I'm going to travel to whatever place they are playing after this Corona bullshit ends and finally see them live for the first time after all these years.
ALSO - BRING EARPLUGS! Not cause the music is bad by any means, but I've had to leave their set before because some of the high pitch noises were so loud it physically hurt to be there :(
What a set. Britain really does produce some talent. Huge shout from the US. I'm also loving other various UK electronica based acts like Faithless, Burial, The Prodigy, Underworld, Unkle, Massive Attack, Orbital, Leftfield, Stereo Mcs, The Streets, Goldie, The Bug, AllFlaws
I never completely got the Chemical Brothers until I saw them live last year. It all clicked the instant they started playing. When the beat of this timeless classic dropped I was completely lost in the moment. So glad the Chemical Brothers are a sort of "upgraded" window to the 90s rave scene. I was born in 2000 but thanks to them I was still able to experience the feeling of one of my favourite periods in music history. It goes without saying that their new stuff is amazing too.
This makes me SICK with jealousy. You will never forget seeing the chemical brothers. Its haunting. If you haven't seen them, GO! They know what you want and they'll give it to you.
@@nadajniczek that's right, why not? I'll let you know if I can find a flare, I'm going to a festival with Modeselektor, that would be a great gig to do it.

All sounds like Glasonbury to me! Used to go every year but I remember 2000 being SO hard to choose between acts. Think I saw the Chemicals, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails and Leftfield all in one night (memory very, very hazy!!).
I had to go see Joe Goddard in the Stonebridge bar, just so I felt like I wasn't turning my back on Hot Chip. The clashes are real man. Sometimes it's like trying to pick which one is your favourite kid.
@@Kholaslittlespot1 is that the year when they had that duo Daphne and Celeste? And they got booed off stage and had everything under the sun thrown at them?
Mark Grainge Wasn’t Headstart on a Friday? Memory is a bit fuzzy. The last social at Turnmills was, I believe, in 1999? Not sure but I was there - last tune played was You’re Wondering Now by the Specials. Best club ever. It was a real treat when Tom and Ed were recording as they’d bring in acetates (when good old vinyl was the medium) of new stuff to give it a spin. I remember the first time they dropped the Private Psychedelic Reel and the roof nearly blew off. Immense. Got to go in the DJ room once when Jon Carter was playing. He was a man old college roommate of one of my housemates - wild times. I remember once I was skinning up and a bouncer came over to me and I thought shiiiiit I was gonna he kicked out. He looked all serious and then cracked a huge smile, gave me a hug and said “you’re fine mate.” It was THAT type of club. We truly were spoiled. A place where you could bump into Zoe Ball, Tim Burgess, Noel Gallagher or Primal Scream just having a laugh like the rest of us, and no egos. I feel blessed.
@@markgrainge8198 Headstart must have been after the Social stopped then. It was wasn't it? Or did the Social stop then come back for a last hurrah? It's doesn't matter... to quote them.
