You can destroy the metal grate between the Mad Monster Mansion puzzle room and the Rusty Bucket Bay puzzle room if you destroy it before raising the water up. I know you could just raise the water up from the lobby room of Rusty Bucket Bay, but I always found it fun to swim through the Mad Monster Mansion puzzle room first where the water has risen high enough to reach the grate, I destroy the grate, then make my way to the Rusty Bucket Bay puzzle room. I am not surprised that hardly anybody else does that.
Obscure trivia, the tunnel grate at 8:02 is actually breakable. The only time you can do this is after raising the water level once, but not twice. It is unclear why it exists, it appears to serve as an option for players trying to get into Rusty Bucket Bay, but who haven't found the 2nd water switch inside the Rare crate. But this is odd, because finding that 2nd switch is REQUIRED to beat the game anyway. And not being able to access RBB incentivizes players to look around. If you broke the grate on a blind playthrough, you could get very stuck thinking the Rare crate was mere scenery.
How? I've tried to figure it out so many ways... Then only way I can think of is hit the timer switch second (but I don't think you can reach it yet), because you need to raise the water level at least twice in order to reach the tunnel or the Rusty Bucket Jigsaw puzzle. Unless I'm missing something...
@@_mabus Upon first opening MMM the water level is too low for that grate to be within reach. Hitting the water level switch in the pumpkin crypt is the only time you can both reach and break the grate, because the moment you hit the 2nd water switch near the RBB entrance, it gets flooded permanently and Banjo lacks any form of underwater attack.
I was going to comment that ad well, but glad someone else caught it. I mean that grate is not really necessary to break anyways, but I always feel weird if I don't break it. Nonetheless awesome video and great insight on the areas of the Banjo Kazooie areas.
Hey Mabus! nice video! but one thing, you can destroy the fence between the MMM and RBB picture! i just tried it by myself on my last playthrough, you can even enter Rusty Bucket Bay by walking into it instead of swimming 😌
Thanks bud! But how? What is the order in which you did this! I wanna try it! haha. I always thought the tunnel and the Jigsaw room always needed at least two water level raises to get to them... Also I think you can do it with an intricate sandcastle cheat code too, but that still doesn't change anything lol. I wanna break it my manly self!! Haha
@@_mabus You only have to press one water level switch to be able to get high enough to reach the grate in the wall within the MMM puzzle room. After that, just destroy the grate with the peck attack and you're good to go. Don't know why this hasn't been answered yet, or why the OP called it a "fence", but yeah, that's how you do it. Be warned though, if you press the first two water level switches before doing all this, it locks you out of it forever.
