This was a great tutorial Robert. I wish I had this when I created a project with cartridge loops about a year and a half ago. It would have saved me the guesswork and research time needed to figure out the proper spacing for the stitching. Hope you show us detail of the finished belt--I'll bet it came out great!
You did right by the mockup for sure. That would be a lot of work for nothing if it didn't fit or you weren't happy with it. Also different thickness in the loop leather will change the fitment. Do you wet form your loops after it's finished? Enjoyed the video today and have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin
Thanks Justin! I will be sharing the process of making the complete build. I thought that breaking this part out would help. I do wet form the loops when completed. That works as long as you are using vegtan leather. Thanks for following along.
If I heard correctly and you said 45-70 the case diameter at the case mouth is .47 75 but increases slightly to .49 55 inches at case head. Hope this helps
Thank you for sharing, I have thought about making a gun belt but it seemed too intimidating, and if you’re like me EVERYTHING has to be perfect. That’s my major downfall in leather work. You gave me inspiration I think I’m gonna give it a shot. Have a wonderful day.
Give it a try. I find that it’s not nearly as hard as it seems from the outside. Also if using vegtan leather you can wet form the loops when completed for the fit that you are looking for.

I appreciate you following along. The belt video is coming. It’s a bit of an editing project.
Nice idea with the square!! Great video!! 👍
Thanks. It seems like I use that tool very often
That’s great. Lots of work to prepare to make the actual belt
Yes it does add to the project. I do believe that it is a required step on projects like this.
Nice mock up! Looks like a challenging project! I’m sure you will do awesome. Take care Robert👊🏻
It was fun. Working on the video might be just as hard. Lol
Technical skills
Hey Kenny! Hope you are doing well.

Looks like a lot of thought went into that belt.
It’s definitely a process. I also like knowing that the project will work when completed.
