    Requesting as a subscriber, can you also add a lift and explain piers and spandrels. Plus explain the complications that arises due to the addition of shear wall lift and ways to solve it. For example, adding shear wall lift brings a huge torsional irregularity how to balance it, etc. Also, can you show a manual calculations of combined footing and strap footing which has 3 or more columns inline and one column at the property line together connected as 0 ------0------- 0 (where the 0 are column and dash is the connections). and also how to design it for a case in which the combined footing is in L shape with 3 columns. It would be a great help to all the subscribers .

    It is not possible to check like this for all column beam. The bcc given by etabs is based on the obtained reinforcement. In residential building we generally provide same reinforcement in beam in all floor. And if we check as per this i think bcc will not satisfy in most of the case specially in upper storey. Is there ay way to check bcc in etabs as per reinforcement provided??

      Yes, it is possible. While defining the column section, check for the Section to be checked and check for column beam capacity then.
