I bow at that man's feet....especially after that high note. That just made me feel all warm inside and a little teary that I won't be able to see this on Broadway.
omg telly is so amazing! i saw him in aladdin a few weeks ago and he was very very awesome! as soon as i saw the name "telly leung" in my playbill, i recognized him right away from godspell.
Okay I'm crying now. Just beautiful. As someone who has very little chance of seeing this revival I am very grateful for this video and the others. I love this musical so much.
I listened way too much today. Telly Leung is so talented. He made me re-realize why I am in school for theater. This was my first college show....ugh so beautiful
He is fabulous..... all the music is re-harmonized, and the vocals are fresh and contemporary sounding. Great job, guys! And Telly is also hilarious!!!!
In all truth I have never been a huge fan of Telly's but I absolutely love what he did with this song, in my opinion it is one of the best in the show, and he really made it his own and did it justice
Always hated the original artist's voice on the original soundtrack. He made me fall in love with this song when I saw the show back in November. Thanks for posting!
Personally speaking, I enjoy both this version with Telly, and the original with Lamar from back in the day. Of course, everyone's tastes are different. Each artist who performs a role or sings a well-known song does well to honor the original intent, while finding at least some small way of making the role/song his or her own. If you can strike just the right balance between the two, you will have a version that will please most viewers.
This just blows me away, i sang this song in grade school back around 1968. We had a different version, but same song, after 50 year ive finally found the Godspell version. Its a much more meaningful version, so good!
You are correct, it is in D but because of the the Am and C and Gsus4 repeated use they have omited the C# in the key signature, many published version use only an F# in the key signature making it in G. Kitty Rea who sang it, from the Bway and SF cast, refers to the song in G and I believe it was in the original vocal score (handwritten) in G. I always said it was in D.
This is one of my favorite songs from Godspell and all the singers sounded great, but it ticks me off that the pianist chose to play 2 disjointed notes and leave a beat of silence just prior to the chorus instead of playing the beautiful flowing guitar riff.
Congratulations on the excellent choir and monophonic music
I really enjoyed listening to them in unison🙏🏽🌟🌹🌹🌹🌹

This is so good, I'm doing a Godspell show tomorrow in a big theater and singing this song. There is no way I will ever hit those high notes, haha.
This is a brilliant revival of Godspell. Don't miss it! It's on TKTS now, if you're in or near NYC.
Loving Lindsay and Morgan's adoring faces. Great to see love being given as someone exalts God in song.
