An intelligent, compassionate brilliant woman talking about an intelligent, compassionate brilliant woman whose story was somehow lost and Kate has resurrected. Kudos.
I was weeping and gasping as I watched this scene. My grandmother was kept in a concentration camp. She was that girl who never moved on, never spoke about it, yet was the kindest, sweetest person I’ve ever known. Thank you for expressing the voices of the victims of the Second World War. Thank you for remembering. And thank you for honoring their memory.
Why must we always comment on how women are aging? Who cares? Why is that even worth remarking on? It's the least interesting thing about them. Leave women alone. JFC
I think ageing gracefully in this case is not a negative judgement. More that this is a mature woman, at the height of her powers, able to reveal hidden depths about another woman and another artist.
I agree. I think leaving women alone in general is what Kate’s about. Weight, make-up, this stupid-ass expectation that women should be demure, delicate, and I guess never fart 🙄
Saw it today. A work of art and heart. Tony saw Titanic & said, 'If they make a movie about Lee, Kate Winslet should play her'.Thank you, Kate, Tony, and everyone. I hope it's very healing for people.
After watching several interviews with Kate Winslett about this movie Lee,you can tell she put everything she had into it not just hsr money ,but her heart and soul .
It's a little frustrating that more credit is not being given to Lee Miller biographer, Carolyn Burke, who spent years writing Lee Miller: A Life. The incident Kate, who I adore as an actor, is referring to here was covered by Burke. Burke deserves credit for her book, which is surely referenced in the film, even if not credited overtly.
@@lwaliz When Lee was a child, she was molested by a man who was supposed to look after her.. That is the shocking revelation in this scene. She tells it to the Audrey Winters character.
I watched this movie and really enjoyed it but what I noticed was that it did not have the embelishments of some of her other films. I can't put my finger on it but I suspect it's because it was autobiographical and because of that won't be a blockbuster!
She's talking about Lee Miller who was a photographer during the war. It was her experience of playing the woman and also dealing with the terrible things in her life that she dealt with..
At the age of seven, while visiting relatives, Miller was raped by a family friend, leaving her not only traumatized but also with gonorrhea, a disease that at that time was treated with invasive procedures that she endured with some regularity through adulthood.
That comment is despicable. Nothing must ever be forgotten and buried so that isn't an "inconvenience". Plus, some newborns aren't treasures, since some become the Hitler's, the Stalin's, the rapists, the killers of tomorrow...
You never heard of transgenerational trauma then. You give it to your children, if you dont heal in your live. So "forgetting" is not an option. It will be in your life or theirs subconsciously.

God bless Kate and her empathy.
She is my favorite actress..She is aging gracefully..I wish other women would accept the way they look..She is beautiful inside and out!!
Yes, aging gracefully! Well done, Kate. 😊

Love her
Just saw this film, it’s so very good. Winslet is a fierce honest actor just brilliant
Why do we often say sorry, when we get emotional? I hope one day, that has changed.
I suppose it’s a British thing. We don’t do that in Italy 😊
@@Laura-fn6fl I think we also have a bit of it in Denmark 🇩🇰 I hope you will an awesome morning, day or night 😄
We also (mostly) are embarrassed to show our emotions in the Netherlands.
I've never understood that either. Apologising for a totally natural and human reaction.
Yes
This was Kates best work, to date anyway. LOVED THIS.! Well done!
I certainly hope she gets an Oscar for that phenomenal performance. Such a traumatically incredible film
Me too!!! Remarkable human!!!
Kate was fantastic in this movie❤❤❤
Can t wait to see this movie now finally💗

One of the best clips. This is profound.

The film is so good and so important. Briljant acting 🌹🌹🌹🌹

I'm reading Burkes book right now. My breath literally stopped when I read about that fact in Lee's life. I didn't know...
I saw it 2 days ago and when asked what I thought, all I could think of was "confronting". An excellent film.
Какая же она настоящая, невероятно талатлива.
That is my favourite scene from this movie...👌
What is she reffering to, what is the terrible thing she needs to talk about in that scene?

Kate is so Natually Beautiful!!! :) Legit Actress :)

Some things in life need to be forgotten. Every newborn is a treasure.
Your comment is breathtakingly offensive.

I hope you’re not a mother or father, poor child if anything ever happens to them 😢
Why is she trying so hard to look so bad?
You seem like a miserable sod to be honest.
when you age, you need glasses but her face is wrinkle-less...lol
@mytv89626 She looks fabulous. You need to visit Specsavers urgently.
She looks amazing.
She is casual and not made up what’s he issue?
