Personally, BL was suss since the press tour for the movie. She embarrassed herself with her silly responses and tried to cover it up by turning this into a MeToo type incident 🙄
If she had let it go people would have forgotten about it by now. She thought she was clever and wining back the public by claiming that Justing was s.harassing and weight shaming her, but it backfired spectacularly. She looks like an even bigger mean girl than before. It reminds me of Rebekah Vardy in the UK. If she had stopped when Colleen outed her for selling stories to the press, people would have moved on. Instead she doubled down and sued, and she lost and ended up owing millions. The problem with Blake is she has never been held accountable before so she's spoiled and entitled. The public turning on her must be eating her up!
The thing that I always found sketchy from the very beginning was the way Blake and her team tried to make it seem like she was some powerless newbie who was in Justin's grasp. As if she didn't also have a producer credit. As if she isn't in a power couple with one of the most successful actors in the world. As if she and Ryan didn't do some unsolicited tweaks to some scene(s) in the script. As if the majority of the cast didn't very obviously side with her during the promotion making Justin look like a leper. Meanwhile Justin was the only one talking about the serious nature of the movie. Blake literally made it sound like a fun movie to see with your girlfriends or maybe as a date night. I think she promoted whatever alcohol she was involved with. I remember something about her shoes. She did ALL of that herself and then she & her team tried to spin it as Justin launched a smear campaign against her. When he is NOWHERE near as powerful as her so how would he benefit from that? People wanna side with Blake because _maybe_ incidents did happen that she felt uncomfortable but Justin's career, image, and reputation are already damaged. Even if he wins, this will always be associated with him.
I've seen people comment here on YT about how they went to the movie thinking it was just a rom com, only to get ambushed with a domestic 'bad' story, and triggering all kinds of problems for them as abuse survivors. I don't think anybody involved in this story is entirely 'innocent', but Blake most certainly is not with her BS marketing for this movie.
@ I don't know enough to know who makes the final decisions here, but the end result is glossing over what the movie was really about. And I don't know how or why people wouldn't realize that would blow up in their face once people actually saw the movie. If you wanted to promote a rom com, why the hell didn't you make one in the first place?
@ studios tend to be really picky about what actors talk about with regards to the film and there is usually a list of topics they want covered. i'm 100% sure that they wanted to frame it as a girls night out movie because they don't see the finer details of movies, they just saw it as 'movie with two attractive leading actors based off of a best selling novel with a wide female audience' using that to suggest lively is suspicious when literally every actor in the movie promoted it similarly or said nothing (including baldoni) is idiotic.
@ I said 'Blake' because this YT video focuses on Blake, but yes, I am aware the other cast members also presented the film as a rom com. But let's not forget Blake wasn't just an actor, she was also a producer, and I am assuming a producer has some say in how their movie gets promoted, yes? Isn't that why you mentioned 'production companies?' Blake has a production company, and it produced this movie. I am also aware that Baldoni did NOT present the movie as a rom com, plenty of video out there to prove that. And guess who else was a producer on this movie! And as much as I can't stand Hollywood, to say the studio had NO IDEA that this movie was about domestic 'bad' is what is 'idiotic'. Ofc the studio knew, ofc Blake knew, ofc the cast knew, and ofc everybody who read the novel the movie is based on knew. 'Finer detail?' A 'finer detail' is getting the font wrong, not completely not knowing the whole plot of a movie you are making. Justin went on an alternate universe tour talking about what the movie was actually about. So if the studios are that 'picky' about who says what, how did that happen? Who went rogue, here? Or did the studio approve two completely different marketing campaigns? So, IMO, and back to my initial comment, deciding to spin this movie as a happy, fun night out with the girls was a shitty move on Blake and EVERYBODY else's part who signed off on it. And like I said in my last comment, this is true regardless of who makes the final decisions here. And since this movie basically had two separate promotions, I honestly have no idea who was in charge, in this case. Like I also said, I don't think ANYBODY is entirely 'innocent' in this situation, up to and including Justin. It is weird all around.
The one thing I haven't seen anyone address is the fact that Blake wasn't suing, she filed a complaint with the industry's watchdog (like a labor council for anyone in entertainment), it was not a private civil suit.
rn im actually on the opposite side where i don't think spamming all your evidence online before court is the best move. it creates a biased court when blake hasn't even been given the opportunity to present her evidence. people turned on blake, then justin, then on blake again. i think it's a better move for the collective public to take a step back and see how it plays out.
Idk why Ryan Reynolds is taking so much heat for this? He has his wife’s back, even if she’s wrong. Are you married? If so, you already know there is nothing else he could do….

@Grimeality For nothing? How about using his influence to have Justin Baldoni dropped by WME? Calling him a sexual predator? Justin didn't just lose the ability to make the movies he paid for the rights for. An actress Justin hired had her powerful/influential husband hijack the movie franchise he owned the rights to. Then had him banned from attending his own premiere.. But Ryan stopped to sign some posters for "fans" so he's all good?
@ Blake lied to Ryan about Justin so he thought Justin was verbally assaulting her. He was just being overprotective... It's quite simple. Plus we don't really know if It's staged you're projecting obviously but if it was it could mean a billion different things... again you keep hating for nothing.
@Grimeality You say with confidence "Blake lied to Ryan about justin so he thought Justin was verbally assaulting her" and then turn around and tell me i'm wrong for speculating that 50 of his "fans" knew where he would be, had identical posters to sign and not a single phone was out? I mean i wasn't there so no idea what Blake told Ryan but considering Ryan has a history of hijacking films (Deadpool director quit because Ryan took over directing) it's obvious what happened.

Now there's a glut of films coming out every year with mega-blockbuster type budgets and they flop because no one cares or even notices. Add social media to the mix, and the mystique of celebrity is more or less extinct. It's a new age, for better and worse.
How the mighty have fallen, Kanye, and Ryan Rodney Renolds 😭
Damn. After so long of rooting for Kanye, Ryan, Jack Black, and Dwayne Johnson, it seems like controversy is almost unanimous with celebrities.
@@Gingerflame-k1b eh once you become big in the industry, you're bound to catch strays and flack just for existing. If you are active in any socials, that increases it by 100x. If you have a family, then, 100x too

What happened to jack black? I don’t think I’ve heard about that
To be fair, it's not like we haven't seen this version of Kanye before. He knows what he's doing.
“Blake Lively” “Famous actress”
Name a blockbuster movie she starred in. I’ll wait
😂😂😂 one eternity later !!!
And even with Gossip Girl, she's had the reputation of being the mean girl, esp to Leighton. I guess she never grew up. She's only stayed relevant because of Ryan, to be perfectly honest. And I'm not saying that because she's female, she really doesn't have any good movie after Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. 😂 I see this as their way of getting her her own series, like Ryan is with Deadpool. They just did this so wrong.

The Age of Adaline… that’s it.

Blake the type of chick in bars and clubs that gets her boyfriend to confront every guy the glances at her.
Lmao deadass. Or the type of chick to pull some bs and use her husband's status as leverage

Now I'm wondering if their marriage is gonna last, because it sounds like Blake lied to him about what happened to make him go after Justine. If she didn't care about ruining Ryan's career then that's probably gonna end up ending them too
Tbh Reynolds is still the type of guy to have an antebellum themed wedding at a plantation so I’m sure he knows who he married

@@MinorKey135This. People need to stop acting like Ryan is innocent. He knows who his wife is and used his power to try to take the movie rights away from Justin, so his wife could have a successful franchise. They’re supposed to be making a sequel based on the other books in the series.
This is the best part of my day. Thanks for making it.
Personally, BL was suss since the press tour for the movie. She embarrassed herself with her silly responses and tried to cover it up by turning this into a MeToo type incident 🙄
oh no she made insufficient content slop for morons now she deserves everything
Women
If she had let it go people would have forgotten about it by now. She thought she was clever and wining back the public by claiming that Justing was s.harassing and weight shaming her, but it backfired spectacularly. She looks like an even bigger mean girl than before. It reminds me of Rebekah Vardy in the UK. If she had stopped when Colleen outed her for selling stories to the press, people would have moved on. Instead she doubled down and sued, and she lost and ended up owing millions.
The problem with Blake is she has never been held accountable before so she's spoiled and entitled. The public turning on her must be eating her up!
@@MsMaryPatricia
hey who was the one who started the lawsuits, ms mary?
@@chasingautumns
yeah blake lively has the ultimate say in how the movie should be marketed and not production companies, you really cracked the code
@ I don't know enough to know who makes the final decisions here, but the end result is glossing over what the movie was really about. And I don't know how or why people wouldn't realize that would blow up in their face once people actually saw the movie. If you wanted to promote a rom com, why the hell didn't you make one in the first place?
@
studios tend to be really picky about what actors talk about with regards to the film and there is usually a list of topics they want covered.
i'm 100% sure that they wanted to frame it as a girls night out movie because they don't see the finer details of movies, they just saw it as 'movie with two attractive leading actors based off of a best selling novel with a wide female audience'
using that to suggest lively is suspicious when literally every actor in the movie promoted it similarly or said nothing (including baldoni) is idiotic.
8:46 he even signed in blue sharpie so they can be scanned and resold
lol the subtle South Park references when Ryan Reynolds’s is speaking.
Xevi, if you don’t make merch with “Here’s when it starts to get wicked” I’m going to make my own T-shirts and hoodies lol
Do it lol
The one thing I haven't seen anyone address is the fact that Blake wasn't suing, she filed a complaint with the industry's watchdog (like a labor council for anyone in entertainment), it was not a private civil suit.
Wickeder is my new favorite word 😅
Thanks for the top notch vids Xevi. Love the humour!
rn im actually on the opposite side where i don't think spamming all your evidence online before court is the best move. it creates a biased court when blake hasn't even been given the opportunity to present her evidence. people turned on blake, then justin, then on blake again. i think it's a better move for the collective public to take a step back and see how it plays out.
Justing played a blinder. He cleared his name in the court of public opinion.
Saw the title, skipped to the last 5 seconds, & couldn't agree more, dude.

He didn't ruin anything. He thought Justin was verbally assaulting his wife so he got protective...

Thank you so much for succinctly explaining this. I really appreciate it, because while I was curious, I just couldn't be bothered to delve into it.
Best coverage I've seen yet, because you took a very serious subject (they tortured that man) and made it funny as hell!
There's literally not a single fan filming Ryan when he staged the fan signing
Even if it's true that he staged it there is no controversy there. Hating on Ryan for nothing
@@declan92100 deadpool 1 and 3 are awesome so idk... didnt the man in the vid say Blake told Ryan that Justin fat shamed her(you can sue for domestic violence btw)? She probably said more to make him go overboard and be over over-protective. We still don't even know if the fans thing was staged or not either but if it was that could mean anything. Nothing is obvious here and you are projecting

I just hope Ryan can at least handle himself with grace moving forwards. Celebrities gotta stop moving funny after they hit it big, I don't see what's so hard! 😮💨
The person that needs grace is Justin. The person who deserves to “move forward” is Justin. Ryan played an active role in ruining a man’s career, livelihood, and reputation, he deserves the full weight of every single consequence coming his way. It baffles me that the first person people want to extend “grace” to is always the perpetrator and not the victim.
with grace? That would be hard for someone that was mentally askew enough to ruin a job of another man, that is beyond disgusting men need to stop disrupting other men’s careers lol
@@BreeIsMeTV Are you being dense on purpose? Hoping someone handles themselves with "grace" isn’t the same as extending grace to them you’re just trying to be offended
