Fun fact! There are two other Mona Lisa portraits beside the Louve Lisa. One is seen in the Museo del Prado in Madrid, Spain, and as such is called the Mona Lisa Prado. This one is speculated to have been the work of one of Leonardo's students who took his copy with him back to Spain. It has more color and lacks that yellowish-green hue compared to the original. The other is the Islesworth Mona Lisa. Originally seen as a copy of the original painted by one of Leonardo's acquaintances, there's now speculation as to whether or not that it's actually an earlier draft of the original. Additionally, it is also the portrait of a younger Mona Lisa and that the background may not have been done by Leonardo but by someone else. That sounds like Stéphane Breitwieser, the French guy that stole about $2 Billion worth of Art over a 6 year period, just for fun. He robbed 239 pieces from 172 different Museums around Europe. One Painting was worth $10 million alone. But he never tried to sell any of them. He kept them all coz he loved Art. It was the late 1990's and him & his missus just travelled around Europe robbing Art from Galleries. They didn't plan heists or anything like that. Some of the Art was never recovered because they had stolen so much that they ran out of space in their gaff and started hiding them in places they forgot.
