@@TheVampireFreddo I'm not sure what it was but I solved it by remapping the keyboard shortcut. I think another program had ctrl+shift+c mapped to something that was interfering with Live2D using the same shortcut. Changed mine to ctrl+alt+c and it's now working as intended! :D
putting this here incase anyone else has the same problem - I got the error: 'please create an object with the same parent deformer selected', and my problem was that I'd made the head Z rotation earlier with some layers hidden in my eye folder, and then when I went to make the eye roll deformer, I unhid them, and then got the error above. the fix for this was looking at the inspector and seeing that in the newly-unhidden layers, in Deformer it said 'root', but in the other eye layers it said 'HeadZ [head_base]', so I changed those newly-unhidden layers to also be HeadZ in deformer and that fixed it, and I was then able to make the eye roll deformer.
For anyone having probles with the eye skin part at 7:48 and the parent child notification: I read Merely's post on the problem and honestly understood nothing, but i played with the file a bit, and found the problem, Basically there's a layer or something that is in conflict (don't know why), so i just bruteforced the solution by unselecting the layer in conflict and proceed with the warping, once the warp of the eye is done, I manually warped the conflicting layer on its own. Is not the ideal solution, but it works xD
@@systemspade in my case i think it was an eyeball, but i made a model on my own, so it may be diferent in each case. i recomend trying to make the deformer with all the wanted layers at first and deselect one layer at a time untill the error message desapear, and then add the conflicting layers to the deformer you want. You WILL encounter this error multiple times after this, so it's all about createvely bruteforcing a solution wether the program likes it or not xD
To other idiots who drew eye open and eye closed like me: Pick asset with open eye - add two points on parameter board - drag circle to the RIGHT (1) and set opacity to 0% Next pick asset with closed eye - add two points on parameter board - drag circle to the LEFT (0) and set opacity to 0% Now you have some wonky af animation but you don't have to cry and draw it all over again.

She only has the eyelid selected when she does that. For any dum dums out there like me who want to know the how and WHY
I had the same problem, here are 2 possibilities: 1. you are using the free version (this is only in the pro). 2. if its not working cuz something else you can also find these actions in the modeling menu (top left) go to 'edit form' and then copy form/ paste form. hope this helps

im suffering, cuz i decided to make a vtuber model, and my artstyle is REALLY chibi, like, really chibi (with simple lines for eyes, exaggerated facial expressions and all dat) .. and i cant figure out some things because all the tutorials are like, anime chibi or anime atyle /sobs tho, this tutorial has helped me a ton with things other tutorials DID NOT explain.. ty tho, if i could get some help on how to do eye closing i would appreciate it! the model im working with uses different layers and the closed eyes are like, a different image. i have never used live2d and cant figure out how to make it work :'3

Is it intended for these to be mutually exclusive? Or did you (perhaps off-camera) bring the smile to 1 and the open to 1.4 and make a smiling *and* surprised eye?

And that is a very good observation! basically I don't find smiling + shocked to be super important and aesthetic wise smiling looks cuter without shocked so I just never included it(I might actually try it on my next model now that you brought it up), but ofc go ahead and try it yourself! I am struggling with the smiling expression and that one LONE eyelash, it simply doesn't want to behave at all. Usually ends up breaking when I toggle back to regular closed.
the eyeballs keep breaking on their own and i have absolutely no idea what im doing wrong. im at the part where i set the x and y keyframes for the eyeball movement and it will work fine i will slide left to right on both to test the movement and they either stop moving 1 direction completely or swap so that x is up and down and y is left to right and idk how to fix it and it breaks even worse when i link them they barely move

How can I connect everything inside the iris to it? If I attach the highlights and the pupil to the iris, it is visible through the skin, but if I attach it to the white of the eye, I can't move the iris because everything is separated
watch the next video after this in the playlist if u havent yet she teaches u how to just duplicate and reflect the eye you just rigged so u dont have to do the entire process again for the other one
You can select everything attached to the wrong param and right click on the keypoints, in the drop down menu select ‘change’ to change it to the correct one! I demonstrate this later w eye physics
If that happens again, you can just right click on the name, click "Edit Parameter" and change the name (Simply switch the L's to R's and R's to L's). It's a little less time wasting and prevents accidentally making mistakes.
did you click on the deformer of the eye? nothing happened for me but then I realised I had clicked off the eye so the box wasnt around it anymore, once i clicked back onto it i was abloe to copy paste.
the new point you created for the shocked eye. In the next video the point isnt there in your EyeR Open Bar, mine is still here and every time i go to physics setting he is the default for the eye. what am doing wrong?

Select only eye corner, eye white, double eyelid and everything in "Eyelash", "eyelind" and "lower eyelid". It should work

You attach it to the white of the eye, and iris movement is done by a deformer with both iris and highlights inside!

You can right click on the rigged param (dots area), then click select, then click change to change it to the correct param!

Yes I recorded that later so there was some inconsistencies, but that shouldn't affect anything! Just make sure the default is at 1 and max is 1.4
