Congratulations 🎊 on your announcement in your last (I think it was the last one, Lolol😄) video! I'm so excited for you! Thank you so very much for all your wonderful videos! 🥰
Thank you so much!!
@@ThePointeShophiu
The PopPlus is an Plus Size fashion event, the ballerina on the video is called Julia Del Bianco, she's a brazilian dancer and ballet teacher who has an amazing program advocating for body diveristy in dance
I love watching her dance! She is amazing ❤ and I'm SO glad she isn't afraid to get out there and share her beautiful art with us!!
Thanks 🙏🏽
She has the most elegant way with it - so lovely to watch!
Can she jump?
@@kathymyers7279yes. There's an interview on YT somewhere from when she was younger.
The Dying Swan solo from the Trocks is one of my faves. ❤
Yeah, feathers falling out because the swan is dying - so funny 🤭
The PopPlus dancer made my heart soar. My Character dance teacher when I was little was plus sized and it was one of the reasons my mom picked the studio. She wanted me to feel included as a disabled person and because she saw a bigger person, she knew I would be okay. Her name was Julia.
Awe, smart mommy!! And good for Julia! These are the stories I love to hear about!
The dancer in the video is named Julia!
@@tiffanylovett7229 They are not the same Julias considering this Julia is the same age as I am and I danced with "my" Julia in the mid1990s.
@@dinkvjr It helped my mom that my mom basically said, "She will not have wafer thin teachers." All of my ballet teachers were normal size or plus size at that studio. Julia was also the studio owner and would not put ladies on point shoes until they're ankles were strong enough (she made dancers swim.) When my mom toured the studio, she saw some older teens that were not on pointe because they didn't have the structure. Julia was so strict with the schedule and precise on execution I still remember how warm up goes over 24 years later. I still use those exercises even though I'm an equestrian, not a ballerina. (Still remember how to do my hair and makeup too. You never forget some things. HA HA.)
don't want to jinx it but can we appreciate that there were no cups? :')
same!
Yes, nothing horrifying at all, well, except for some of those rather dodgy toe pads.
Not this time...
I really hope whoever puts the clips together for her stops including those entirely. The reaction is always the same, and it's a dangerous activity- we've seen it a hundred times already and we already know what the reaction is going to be.
at 2.42 I was also watching in total disbelief. Felt somehow so much better to know she was being rotated..well at least I could breathe again
Does someone know the music from this clip? THNX!
@@rikdijkhuizen1822 Serenade for Strings in C Major, I. Pezzo in forma di somatina by Tchaikovsky. I highly recommend watching the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra’s recording from 2021. Enjoy!
It’s Symphony in C. One of Balanchine’s first ballets in the US, and my FAVORITE!
As a plus size girlie who wanted to be a ballerina dancer so bad I can’t tell you how much it healed me to see the PopPlus dancer…but I’ve been a big girl my entire life and was told by my parents I couldn’t do it until I lost weight. (In my adult life I also realize there’s no way we could have possibly afforded it) Obviously I never was able to lose it and still have horrible issues with weight management so seeing this makes me feel so much better for my future kids.😊
From one big girl to another - it's not too late!
There is so much joy to be found in picking ballet up as an adult and your size should not stop you. I was so happy when I got back into it to see that I was not alone in being a bigger adult wanting to enjoy the magic of ballet
the flower girl was so prettyyy
I want more reacting to not-cringy tiktoks, these are amazing to watch ❤
Ah, look at the producers being NICE to Josephine...! 😊
And the dancer at the airport was fantastic, and so stylish.
I loved the balerina flower girl, it was so elegant, and what a neat way to make your wedding memorable.
Can we appreciate that this reaction video has literally no "😐" but a lot of "😍"?
2:38 as a classical musician I recognized Tchaikovsky's serenade for strings IMMEDIATELY. I love that piece so much.
1:59 I absolutely LOVE how her skirt is just floating on the air and she’s just so graceful and beautiful 🥰
✨🩰✨
The sweet little mini mini baby ballet shoes in the tea cup next to Joe. So adorable 💕
"this tiktok videos is getting better and better" are we foreshadowing for a chaotic evil episode in the future????
The plus size dancer is my hero. Her name is Lizzy Howell! She’s amazing. As an adult ballet student she warms my heart. I at 55 was struggling with balance issues due to a CSF leak. I started ballet to help with that. In all my adult life it’s made me more confident and healed the wounds of a life altering accident at 35. My goal is be in point shoes! I’m hooked.
I specifically want you to react to Maya Schonbrun and Melanie McIntire!! They are absolutely gorgeous dancers!!!
And Maya's non-existent toe pads too
I know I've seen Maya in Josephine's reaction videos before. Not sure which react vid, but it was definitely about her "nasty" toe pads. There might be more of her in the videos, and some of Melanie.
@@sadmac356 lmaoooo i also thought of Maya's toe pads (such as they are lol)
I miss the shoe fittings
Me too!
Me too. And then when Josephine makes one it doesn’t show up in my feed but the TikTok ones always do. ☹️
I feel like we need Josephine reacting to Eva Nys Photography’s videos - specifically photoshoots, Maya’s toe pads (though she might’ve already), Ballet But Make It Chaos, and the 20 pirouettes.
Absolutely LOVED the flower girl ballet dancer 👍🏻.
🌴☀️🌴
I was fortunate enough to be able to take a masterclass from the Trocks and I was able to see their show right after. During the class, they taught us this same dying swan choreography and I found out that they actually stuff the layers of the tutu with loads and loads of feathers so when the swan first comes on stage there are just heaps of feathers falling! I love the Trocks!!!
Omg I was in that class with the little kids watching I can't believe we are on a pointe shop video that is crazy 😧
Someone needs to show Josephine the video of Skylar Brandt doing an unsupported promenade en pointe 🙃
I was hoping someone would mention it!! Its from the American Ballet Theater's Debut Deferred series
I don't wear anything in my pointe shoes even the tight is bothering me, and there is nothing more enjoyable you feel like you have so much more control. I'm lucky the fitter found me the perfect pair and gave me the most perfect advices. ❤👌
Thank you Josephine !! I love your videos . I’m 13 in May and have been dancing for almost 10 years you videos are so fun to watch bc I don’t really know any girls my age that have been dancing as long as I have so we can’t really relate. But I feel like you and I can relate a LOT on dance stuff ! One of my dreams is to meet you someday I don’t know if it will come true but I pray it does keep doing what you do you are my inspiration love you ❣️💖💝
I'm thirteen, and I've been dancing for ten years too! I absolutely adore their content and can relate so much.
Well if you ever need a pointe fitting you can book her online! It's not a meeting in real life but you can talk with her :)
Thank you that's so sweet 💙💚💛
I love that you love Josephine’s videos but I just want to point out - just because the other girls haven’t been dancing as long as you, that doesn’t mean you can’t find a way to relate to them! Even a girl who just started could have a love for dance that’s just as deep as yours. Who knows - maybe there are even other dancers you know who also enjoy these videos and you just don’t know about it!
Thank you for your input @@amykathleen2 💕But I mean relate with the struggles 😄There is nothing wrong with being a new dancer no matter how old you are because we all have to start somewhere . Have a great day and thank you for your comment . 🧡
Josephine's bemusement at Chux was brilliant
Chux is a waterproof pad that is used on beds, chairs…where incontinence might happen.
They’re similar to pee-pee pads people use to potty train puppies.
no? they're cleaning wipes, they're like reusable paper towels. like jo said, handi wipes is the american equivalent, they're super super thin fabric
@@alliebean3235 When I did caregiving, we called the incontinence pads chux too. I had no idea it was different in other countries.
To me Chux are incontinence pads as well
no, in my world of kids and dogs chux are definitely incontinence pads. I am in the US. @@alliebean3235
@@BrokenMonocleand for post-partum purposes, too.
Josephine...I've just discovered your channel and am loving it! It's so mesmerizing. I can't get anything else done when one of these videos comes up. I have to tell you that you reminded me so much of someone, but I couldn't think of who it was until today. It was actually driving me nuts because I coudn't put my finger on it. You totally remind me of Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame. Y'all look alike and have the same friendly, warm vibe. ❤
2:12 if this is not my wedding, I don't want it
Hi josophine its my 2nd year of dancing on pointe and i love watching your videos inbetween my classes, i hope you continue to create even more amazing content❤❤
Saw the trocks recently and their Balanchine parody had me crying laughing
My late Auntie who had been a principal w/Houston Ballet long ago, loved the Trocks! I took her & my late father to see them, and the Dying Swan was her favorite…and that piece was one of her favorites. Her friends played it at her memorial service. And a couple of years later my now husband and I saw the Trocks in Galveston. I didn’t see the Dying Swsn on the program, but they did it… And like I just did seeing your clip, I was crying and laughing in the theater.
Chux are like a semi disposable paper towel/cleaning cloth. Come on a roll like a paper towel but are used longer before being thrown out for various cleaning jobs. Verrrrrrrrry thin perforated material that have a very distinct smell.
Tendu derriere in releve is, has always been and will always be THE ONLY WAY to reach a product placed too high at the supermarket aisle. How else? 😅🤷🏻♀️.
I can think of 3 chucks-
1- puppy pads / medical absorbing pads. Aka “chux” cuz you chuck them in the trash
2- reusable kitchen/ dish wipes- think pressed non-woven fabric with holes like mesh basketball shorts but thinner
3- Chuck Taylor shoes by Converse.
I honestly wondered which she meant till the photo of the wipes! I could see using the insole of old Chuck Taylor’s as box liners, cut to fit. Cut up puppy pad for sweat absorption and a plastic barrier to slow down the shoe’s absorption of sweat (in a paste shoe). Or wipes like we used to use paper towels in the 80s and 90s.
Secretly glad to see it was the wipes, as it seems the least “out there” to me. 🤣
Edited- oh golly, my kid just reminded me it could’ve been “up-chuck” so technically 4 possibilities. 🤢😆🤦🏼♀️💀
They are a brand of dish cloth in Australia.
In the USA those are called “Readywipes” or “Reddiwipes”, etc. usually not sold on a roll, but pre-sliced into large dish cloth or flour sack towel size. Usually white striped with either blue, yellow, or red, very fine lines of both.
@@shespeex8413 Sounds similar. Chux is a brand of cloth in Australia or there's cheap generic versions of them.
I just found your channel. Super fun but having a hard time with the music choice being the same as Food Wishes 😂
The first clip reminded me of me and my friends when were 4 years old watching the older girls
I've seen the Trocks last year for the first time, I loved every minute of it
I need a Josephine saying "her feet are so pretty" compilation.
I have tickets to go to SF Ballet’s Swan Lake twice. Opening night, and Thursday. Looking forward to it!
We need a point shoe gender reveal!!! ❤❤❤❤
Talk about timing. I had just purchased tickets to the SF Swan Lake, and was surprised to see it mentioned 😊.
...why do I get the feeling someone behind the camera is getting Josephine set up for an entire video of cups soon?
Someone probably already commented this but I'll say it just to be sure. A Chux, also called a Chux-cloth is like ( as far as I know ) An Aussie wet-wipe/paper towel/ square of fabric thing. Used for cleaning up mess like liquids - or anything really - but are more reuseable than a single-use wet wipe/paper towel . They are usually a blue and white stripe/checkerd rectangle that comes in a roll, like toilet paper. I've found that they die after awhile. I'm no ballet dancer ( I rollerblade ) but I think that they'd work well as toe-pads. Chux- cloths are pretty cheap in bulk though. ( Love your reactions. I cry and cringe with you)
Josephine: "What is chux?" Me: "Oh, you'll find out..."
Hi! I'm Delfi from Argentina and... I can't use pointe shoes because of problems in my ankles (maybe later) but I really enjoy to see you!! 🩷💕
Love the flower girl
I was walking past a Dance Studio one afternoon and all the little girls taking the class copied everything their teacher did. This includes when the teacher went to fix her hair every girl in the class touched their head. I wanted to melt! The level of attention 😊
LOL I thought Josephine had a bowl of yogurt or cereal or something in front of her 😅
I'm not a dancer but my theory is that dancers get attached to their toe pads because they have to replace the shoes so freaking often lol
I'm am dying right now because an hour ago I found out in goin to get points shoes I'm so happy!!!
I danced in the 80s when we had lambswool. I had little pieces that molded to specific areas of the toes & feet. I wonder how the new toe pads would compare?
Love the dancer at the end.
my friend brought me in for a “bring a friend” class at her dance studio once and she was like we’re not supposed to wear toe pads here and i was in shock 😭
i mean the longest ive worn a toe pad is this dance season lol so mine are still really fresh. its my first year on pointe and i absolutely love it!!
Nasty toepads and all i can think is Maya's toepads 😂 @evanysphotography
Josefine is the one person that could have told Maya that not liking/needing toebads was absolutely a thing, and she could have just given the zombie-toepads a dignified funeral years ago!
The poor bride that has to follow that flower girl 😉
Can you react to Save the last dance 1 & 2. Mix of hip hop and ballet???? ❤😊
I’ve only seen video of the Trocks, but I’d love to see them live.
Do ballet dancers get Achilles tears a lot? I'm referring specifically to the last clip, but I would like to know in general. Achilles tears are very common in artistic gymnastics.
Thank you for the video! ❤
Some of us sometimes, you know, we all have a weak point/s. But not at your level at all. We just jump, WAG landings are literally unhuman, especially on BB (the "Spieth sound"😖😣). Actually, the very first exercise at the barre is _plié_ (bending knees in different positions like the first girl at the supermarket) because warming up the achis properly is the key to absolutely everything. Point shoes tend to overload inner ankle tendons such as flexor hallucis and flexor digitorum. Males can suffer a bit more due to the specific leaps and jumps they do. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
@@sebumpostmortem thank you very much for such a thorough answer! That’s very interesting! Have a lovely week! 🙏😄💝💐
My daughter will be 3 next month and she LOVES looking at the “ballaminas”, at her dance school. Then this evil lady at the front desk told us we had to leave if we didn’t have class. Lady, why do you have windows then?
I'm a very happy single woman but if I ever get married in a church, I think I NEED my flower girl to dance down the aisle in point shoes with flower petals
You have not lived until you have seen the Trocks' version of The Dying Swan.
Hi Jo, The 2024 Prix de Lausanne vids on YT are amazing, it would be nice to hear you share some of your comments! 🥰 Talk about gorg! Have fun, everybody!
I’ve had the same toe pad for more than 10 years
Chux are called "J cloths" in Canada. IDK if they're still around, but they were thin kinda disposable cloths.
I didn’t realise chux were exclusively Australian thing 😅 they’re so common here I just never really thought about it
So I am nowhere close to these people's skills haha but whenever I dance reguarly I too will dance basically wherever, especially if I have to stand around waiting like e.g. the airport 😂😅
Thank you for the great video! 😊 Please tell me who was on video from swimming pool! I love them! 😍
I wish these videos were longer!
Can someone please tell me the name of the ballet and music at 2:38? I can't place it even though I know I've heard it and it's bugging me. Thanks in advance!
Serenade for Strings in C major, Tchaikovsky. The ballet is Serenade, Balanchine's first full length ballet in the US.
I saw a distinct lack of cups here. Everyone tag Josephine with cup videos.
i just realised you posted this 18 min ago
My first pair of pointe shoes (aged 50ish) were gaynors & i was told that i didn't need padding with them. First ever lesson and the teacher expected me to be able to relevé and retiré. After 10 minutes i gave up in tears. And went to buy lambswool padding. Turns out that they weren't the right shoe for me at all.
I totally get not wanting squishy things that interfere with feeling as connected as possible to the shoe and the floor, but I don't get not having some kind of rub protection between your skin and the box. Seriously. I use terry cloth socks as pads, love it, but if you really want as little as possible, you could use a very thin sock to make a "pad" that would take up very, very little space but still provide pretty decent protection from rubbing.
5 min is criminal
2:03 Was just bawling my eyes out for personal reasons. No longer
Chuck’s are the underpads that we used to use at the hospital you put under patients so if they have an accident you will catch the accident and then you can clean them up and it won’t go everywhere and it will save your bed linen
The ones in this clip are a brand of dish cloth sold in Australia. They come in a tear off roll and can be used for a week or two.
Yay TikTok 31🎉🎉
"are getting better and better" I see a video of only cups in the future… >;-)
I wonder if the bride's entrance topped the flower girl!
I didn’t put anything in my pointe shoes either. I haven’t had feeling in my feet for decades!🤣 On a serious note, I do not recommend following in my footsteps. My feet are a complete disaster!
I never used anything in my shoes and my feet are still fine. So I guess it depends on the individual . At least if I needed to change my shoes quickly, it was really easy. Also I had been doing serious alterations on my shoes myself until I got custom-fitted at Freed's in London and then could just pop them on once the ribbons and elastic were sewn on.
that false sense of security
In love
Chux are a medipad that absorbs moisture
i think i know the airport girl!! if i recognize her right she went to my ballet school when i was younger
MY BEST FRIEND IS GOING TO BE IN SF SWAN LAKE! Hope to see you there!
JOSEPHINE-- NO CUPS.
Chux are absorbent pads used in medicine/hospitals to absorb body fluids especially urine
Think like a puppy pee pad
❤ Wedding part and asmr
Maybe we can have ballet tik tok reaction part 32?? 🥰
Thank you❤
Looking forward to TikTok 32 😊
I loved this video❤
Josephine! What day are you going to the SF ballet to see swan lake? I was thinking of going!
Chux are a brand of dish cloth in Australia
In American they’re pads you put under someone who is incontinent 😊
Many dancers who preformed on toe have Jacked Up Feet
OMG, Josephine, help out all the girlies with some toe pad type options. I recently got some beautiful heels that I will wear no matter what, but they need some type of pointe shoe option. Tell us normies what to get! They aren't even that high, but they're really pointy!
Any other Eva Nys fans who looked at the "disintegrating" Aussie toe pads and thought " wow, those are in really good shape"? (iykyk)
