Jani Lane RIp There are no words to adequately express how much this mans music has touched the heart of his true fans. No words can express how much light and joy Jani brought with him into the world.
This guy was brilliant with vocals and song writing. Jani deserved alot more credit than he was given. The dqy he passed we lost one of the good ones. Only band I never got a chance to see. RIP
You missed a great concert! I caught a Warrant concert and it was one the best craziest ones I’ve ever been to! Jani snuck his way into the crowd climbed up a speaker tower and sang! It was mind blowing! No one knew what was going on until the spotlight was on him! Watch them in concert on YT!
I sure miss him such a loss so much Talent one of the Greatest Artists the world has had! Warrant will never be the same but at least we still have his music to live on Life is to short hold all your loved ones tight!
I'd really love to know what inconsiderate disrespectful piece of s*** thumbs down this are you kidding me if you don't like it just keep it to yourself . This was very very beautiful and he looks so happy with his children that was a very nice way to honor Jane Lane that whole piece was beautiful I like to thank you posting that God bless Jani rest in peace you are missed deeply by many.
Say what you want..but a good song is a good song....he was one of the most underrated singer songwriters....its sad but todays music has no feeling...no thought..and zero talent....jani was a giant in a small mans world of music..rip....we will keep you and your words alive
Love you and miss you..Jani Lane..Im beyond sad..more like heartbroken..beautiful man and talent left us way too soon..see you up there someday..Angel..👼💝💝🎁🎁⭐⭐🎯🎯😪😪😘😘
As someone who was a fan of his band, i was fortunate enough to see them when they came through the Detroit region. It kills me, that he had such strong demons, that he felt the need to carry them, and not expose those, who took advantage of him. I really hope that JKO knows just how many people miss him, and still wish that he was here And was able to get some help, to fight those demons. #RIPJKO
Sophie, thank you so much for sharing this amazing song, and the pictures and especially the letter. That hit hard. Jani was the songwriter of my life. What a truly gifted and genuine man he was.
He looks happy in so many of these pictures but in others he looks defeated and sad. His heart was broken in the end. That is what alcohol will do to you. If you are hurting tell someone and ask for help. Thats what Jani would want. The voice of a generation. Jani Lane. I miss him.
Is it possible that fleeting fame in the glam era killed Jani? He never seemed happy about it. He was obviously more gifted than most songwriters of that era. But he sold his soul to it and became one of the icons of it, but he couldn't shake the Cherry Pie Guy image most had of him. He looks so happy with his kids. RIP Jani!
The record company made them put that song on the record.they finished the record and the music execs said they needed another song and Cherry pie was it..That song ruined Jani
@@kimberlyj.sullivan9304 Not true. Jani Lane should have 100% owned "Cherry Pie" and not have caved into the one-hit-wonders label and shade thrown at him for it. It was the 90s. Grunge/alternative was in full swing and he didn't want to be only known for only writing shallow pop songs about sex and partying. True music aficionados already know Jani was one of the best songwriters from that time and up to his passing. The truth is, he loved that song and was thankful for it. It "made" Warrant albeit for a short time. After their heyday, all those bands from his era were trying to fit into a genre that was foreign to them. Their music back then was party boy, over-produced music with shredding guitar solos. Grunge was brooding and stripped down with minimal, simple guitar soloing. The worst example is KISS's Carnival of Souls record. KISS trying to be grunge and it sucked. They were just lucky they put their makeup back on or they may have been relegated back to playing clubs and festivals.
@@imilf2003 Not true. The label just wanted another song. They did not hear an "anthem" on the record. They wanted something anthemic. They did not make the band do "Cherry Pie" as if it was brought in from a third party songwriter. They just wanted another song. Jani wrote "Cherry Pie". He could have written another "Down Boys". That's on him. That's why it weighed on him so heavily. He knew it it was his own fault.
Is it possible that he repented before his death? The song sin he sung with Liberty n Justice was fantastic and it tells of how a guy wanted to be the man the Lord wanted him to be. Listen to it without prejudice or judgement or bias against Christianity. RIP Jani Lane
I heard Manhattan is a million stories old The place where the Brooklyn bridge is bought and sold And the Indians made the series man, that's cool I thought the beads were jewels Somewhere in California someone's got it made I heard they got a drink called electronic lemonade But I couldn't get that one up people giving them away Cause I was born to lose Uh-oh-oh Down to one last smoke Tonight it's sure to get cold Where to now we don't care Maybe take a walk down Washington Square A million tiny lights come flicker into life Busy dodging glass as the day approaches night They're all headed somewhere too A place that's warm and dry I got no one at all I'm working without a net, hope I don't fall Where to now we don't care Maybe hangout in Washington Square Thought I heard someone say Tomorrow would be a proper day if you pray So I pray until my strength's gone Well nothing changed, nothing changed In the village, the line slips tonight Bleaker close down, only two souls in sight One's an artist, the other is a clerk Neither can find work Down to one last smoke I never knew New York will be so cold Where to now, we don't care Maybe find a blanket in Washington Square Uh-uh-uh (2x)
It's a shame he couldn't keep on writing and find a manager who could see that he was a great fucking Songwriter and push him to keep on working... He's one of my favorite song writers.. This song just reminds me of what he was capable of.. Damn...
I will always love Jani. No need to put Bobbi down. Whoever wrote the post below me. She was young and in Hollywood. Give her a break. As for the assholes in warrant. I agree. Jani wrote all their shit. Have u heard the horrible new crap. Ugh. Jani my angel. I love u
@@sidekobusi1 HI Sophie, that's okay. Just note that I made the lyrics up as how I heard them and posted it hoping someone with the same passion for Jani's song will analyze and correct them for me, it's difficult to sing in the car when the lyrics are off. :)

@@imilf2003 I don't know if Cherry Pie 'ruined' him. But he absolutely hated it & didn't like to perform it.

@satinwhip No he specifically said the record exec asked for a Love in an elevator (Aerosmith) type song!
God I miss his voice.

I hope so
I heard Manhattan is a million stories old
The place where the Brooklyn bridge is bought and sold
And the Indians made the series man, that's cool
I thought the beads were jewels
Somewhere in California someone's got it made
I heard they got a drink called electronic lemonade
But I couldn't get that one up people giving them away
Cause I was born to lose
Uh-oh-oh
Down to one last smoke
Tonight it's sure to get cold
Where to now we don't care
Maybe take a walk down Washington Square
A million tiny lights come flicker into life
Busy dodging glass as the day approaches night
They're all headed somewhere too
A place that's warm and dry
I got no one at all
I'm working without a net, hope I don't fall
Where to now we don't care
Maybe hangout in Washington Square
Thought I heard someone say
Tomorrow would be a proper day if you pray
So I pray until my strength's gone
Well nothing changed, nothing changed
In the village, the line slips tonight
Bleaker close down, only two souls in sight
One's an artist, the other is a clerk
Neither can find work
Down to one last smoke
I never knew New York will be so cold
Where to now, we don't care
Maybe find a blanket in Washington Square
Uh-uh-uh (2x)
