Lost in time, The Hunter gives a dire warning from the centuries she has seen: History repeats, and each conflict of the past keeps coming back. Civilization ignores the mistakes of their ancestors, and the pattern continues on into the 21st century, as she watches the dark future unfold.

It's quite wonderful to hear that because this is a pretty depressing song... It talks about how humanity just never seems to learn from the past and allows the worst kinds of problems to continuously come back because no one ever seems to learn from it all.
That said, I adore this song and I find myself adoring a lot of his depressing songs too so who knows.
@@demsterclippy4252 Huh, I imagined it more like Mr. Aviator was using "we" along the lines of "hey man, I'm in this with ya" and the unseen act refers to the fact that most struggling people have their struggles never seen by others, but this time (the sequel) the struggle may/may not be seen.
This is the kind of music that speaks to me. Just a brick in the wall of confirmation bias based observations on my part that remind me of what's going on in my life, and my changing perspective on it. The cycles of learning, dying, and relearning. Either society as a whole, or just on my life, where my loneliness is a horrible cycle of learning to accept help, growing detached, and needing to fix things again last minute.
This is the kind of resonance with a song that just makes you wanna animate it even if you haven't animated before just to get it out of your head. The wheels turning on your bike, cycling over and over, driving you forward on a road you can't see in a land of towering neon where everyone has their own lonely road on the bigger wheel, and eventually it zooms out enough to where the world is turning and it resets its cycle the way the rest of the wheels would have many times.
God, that sounded a tad pretentious, lol.

My favourite song of the album by a long shot. Love the rhythmic feel to it, but the lyrics are the best. "Signed on for a sequel, but nobody's seen the first act..." That's a really nice way of saying we should (and need to) learn from history.

Listening to this song as I ponder the turning of 2023 into 2024. Dates that seem unreal written out, dates like those old futuristic media I've loved would be set in. Is this setting one of the 'good' futures of my childhood, or the 'bad' ones? Which direction does the 'plot' seem headed? Why do my answers disquiet me, and how do I fix it?
The world seems a mess, in peril from a thousand human-inflicted injustices and tragedies. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer _sin_ of our resolute refusal to learn from history.
But hope does exist, that we can find understanding and peace with one another once we learn the lessons of history. Each new year provides us with a new opportunity to learn from the cycles, in some way, small or grand. The grade will repeat until the lesson is learned, too late for some of us, but not for others.
All we can do is try to make use of the opportunity given, and grant our own New Years Resolutions; the only kind of wish we are provided. So here's to peace, kindness, understanding, responsibility, and mutual support in the new year (and righteous anger where necessary to bring those things)!
